This value spurs us on to be the best in product, process and management. We often focus only on product and process excellence, but what also distinguishes the best companies in the world is their MANAGEMENT excellence. What do we understand by Management Excellence? Organisations, which stand out as an Example, base their success on two basic pillars: their capacity to improve and standardisation. Organisations such as Toyota have demonstrated that their learning capacity is what has made them a worldwide reference in results, growth and management. The important thing is to learn from mistakes and to provide our systems with feedback so these mistakes do not happen again. This attitude maintains the equilibrium between apparently conflicting values: rigour in compli- ance with the rules compared with agility and efficiency to continuously improve them. Standardisation, correctly understood, is not “to everyone’s liking”. The key to success lies in maintaining equilibrium, in being flexible and respecting standards. These turn into bureaucracy if they do not evolve based on the users’ experience. All of this will lead us to share knowledge, to speak a common language and understand what others do. The Managers guide this standardisation and learning process heading the implementation of systems and going in depth not only into “what” but also into “how”. The Intermediate Managers get involved in solving daily problems trying to share their “know-how” and finally the Technicians and Workers enter improvement dynamics that will lead them to increase their competences and move towards Excellence. In such a competitive sector as ours, the reason to fight, innovate and wish to be the best is not a whim, it is not an ambition, either; it is a need to SURVIVE. This is the decisive and critical time. The turning point of the market, where the best will triumph and the mediocre will fail. Each and every one of the areas and activities of our Group must become immersed in this process. Design, Development and Industrialisation must adopt these dynamics. We have potential, knowledge and opportunities within GA to be a leading company on a world- wide level. In January this year we launched SP (Grupo Antolin Production System) in our com- pany as a Strategic Improvement Initiative that reinforces both learning and standardisation in each and every one of our companies and managements. We are all going to have to give our time and efforts to implement it. It is also going to require an important management commit- ment. We must not fall into the normal trap whereby solving daily complications does not allow us to work properly. The design facility had a very modest beginning with an office of 1200 sq feet and 3 workstations. The designers who started with low priority 2D to 3D conver- sion jobs are currently integral parts of im- portant project teams. The design cen- tre operates in two shifts there by offer- ing the customers a faster turn around time. Even though the set up was small, the investment was made rightfully in creating a very robust IT infrastructure. All the designers were trained initially in Spain by the Graphics Engineering team. Today the training plan for news employees includes a three-month train- ing period at the Headquarters in Burgos.     Cadillac’s Amsterdam Street Factory Cadillac, “The Standard of the World”. Today, as it was more than 100 years ago, the word Cadillac remains among the top of luxury car nameplates. Born and bred in Detroit during the infancy of motor vehicle manufacturing, this iconic company rose above the rest to set the standard to which all others only dreamed of. The Cadillac automobile became synonymous with exceptional quality made with precision built components. It was within the walls of the historic Amsterdam Avenue assembly plant in Detroit, Michigan that the legacy began. The Cadillac nameplate might never have existed had it not been for the efforts of Henry Martyn Leland, a talented machinist, inventor, engineer and later an automotive entrepreneur. While living in New England, Leland was employed by the Colt Company, a high quality mass production gun manufacturer. During his stint at Colt, He learned that mass production could be achieved through the use of highly precision-made components. While he was doing well at Colt, Henry had a desire to go into business for himself. In the late 1880’s Detroit was the mecca for boat and carriage manufacturers. Leland followed his dream and moved to Detroit. In 1890 Leland along with his son Wilfred, business partner Robert Faulconer and two other investors formed the Leland and Faulconer Company, a maker of precision machine tools. The company quickly gained a reputation for delivering high quality products that were both well made, durable and reliable. They expanded and began producing boat launches powered by their own design of internal combustion engine.

When he was 92 years old, Adolfo spoke at St. John’s Seminary. He told the story of a boyhood journey to Los Angeles with his father. It took them seven days by horse and buggy. But as an adult, Adolfo would make countless day trips to the City of Angels. The automobile played an essential role in his life. By the time he was 33 years old in 1897, the general consensus was that the era of the horse was over. The New York Sun predicted that the “new craze for the horseless carriage would expand until the vehicles were in common use in every part of the civilized world.” The New York Times complained about the adoption of the word ‘automobile’ into the general usage, calling it “a dreadful word.” Those with some formal education understood the origin of the combined word. It was the Greek word “auto” meaning “self” united with the Latin word “mobils” meaning “moving.” Or “self- moving” vehicle. Today customers make inquires or even purchase a car online. At the turn of the 20th century, the consumer also did pre-purchase research. Adolfo may have read ads in newspapers and magazines. He could write to the auto manufacture to obtain information. As a perspective buyer, he may have also used the Handbook of Gasoline Automobiles, which included detailed specifications on the makes and models.

    LINCOLN CONTINENTAL CONCEPT USING SPD-SMARTGLASS PANORAMIC ROOF IS DEMONSTRATED AT THE 2015 SHANGHAI MOTOR SHOW Shanghai, China – April 20, 2015. After a successful world premiere at the New York Auto Show last month, the Lincoln Continental Concept featuring an SPD-SmartGlass electronically tinting sunroof using patented technology from Research Frontiers (Nasdaq: REFR) makes its Asian debut at Auto Shanghai 2015 from April 20th to 29th. The Lincoln Continental Concept is a preview of an all-new full-size production luxury sedan, which is expected by Ford to be available in the Chinese and other markets in 2016. Auto Shanghai is now the world’s largest auto show reflecting China’s importance as the world’s largest and fastest growing automobile market with 18.4 million cars sold in 2014. China is an important market for the entire auto industry especially for Lincoln which entered this market in late 2014. Lincoln has opened 11 dealerships in 9 cities and plans to expand to 60 dealerships in 50 cities in 2016. The rear seat focused Continental will be key to their efforts in China, given the chauffeur driven nature of this market. As noted in Lincoln's press release from Auto Shanghai 2015, "New technology is a hallmark of this vehicle." Ford Motor Company president and CEO Mark Fields said, “The Continental Concept showcases the promise of quiet luxury from Lincoln going forward.
