Th roughout our years of marriage, my husband and I have found that praying biblical prayers is a way to invite God’s blessing, power, and grace into our lives. Many years ago, in our 20s, when we recom- mitted our lives to Christ and began a daily walk in His Word, I began praying biblical prayers for our marriage, for my husband Holmes, and for our three children.

was very new to the “things of God,” but wanted

He was baptized at a church camp, and had even survived being a preacher’s kid. But early in his high school years, my wife and I could sense him slipping away—from us and from God. We did our best, of course, to steer him away from danger- ous friendships. We watched him struggle with depression. We tried to love and encourage him as much as we could.
