creating a more humane and just society.” Gilmour Academy, as a Holy Cross school, continues to build on a 175-year tradition. It is a faith- based tradition that has grown in the ability to withstand the challenge of its values, endurance and leadership during changing times. This tradition gives focus to our efforts to learn, develop and grow on a continual basis. Gilmour’s mission is rooted in Catholic tradition and shares a common expression of that mission with the Holy Cross institutions of learning throughout the world. The mission is one of helping young men and women develop the intellectual skills necessary for the competency to see, and the habits of the heart needed for the courage to act in creating a more humane and just society. It is a mission that encourages a global perspective while cultivating an ability to observe, interpret and respond proactively as informed and active citizens. Gilmour’s mission conveys a faith-based concept of human reality that enables students to critically assess society’s values, concerns and hopes in light of the Gospel message. The Academy seeks explicitly to integrate Gospel values, Catholic tradition, moral decision making, sound pedagogy and community service to facilitate a synthesis of faith and life for our students. We seek to achieve our mission as a faith-based, coeducational pre-Kindergarten through 12, college-preparatory school, operating according to the independent school model, which is designed to emphasize student learning through personalization, small classes, and an outreach of

The ceremony will be held at 3 p.m. Kendra Barlow ’20, of Painesville, will sign a NCAA National Letter of Intent to play soccer at Division II Shippensburg University. She is a four-year member of the varsity soccer team and was a team captain for the 2019 season. Her team earned the 2016 Division III state title and that year, she earned the team’s Rookie of the Year Award. In 2018, she earned All-Greater Cleveland Honorable Mention status. Barlow has earned academic honors in 2016 and 2018 and received the Holy Cross Literature Award, given to two students who use their writing to share their voice as they act as agents of change and raise the bar for those around them. Barlow is co-president of the Psychology Club, and is involved with two campus service clubs, Baking for Rainbows and the C.A.U.S.E. Club. She will be participating in a service trip to Arizona over Spring Break 2020. Barlow intends to major in graphic design or education at Shippensburg and says, “I chose Shippensburg because of its strong academic program in graphic design, business and education.

    OHIO HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL COACHES ASSOCIATION Dear OHSBCA Member, 1/20/11 Welcome to the 2011 OHSBCA State Coaches Clinic: “America’s Game”. The Ohio High School Baseball Coaches Association has become the 2nd largest high school coaches’ association in the country. Coaches, national speakers, and vendors from all over the country feel that the Ohio High School Coaches Association Clinic is one of the best in the entire country. One of my favorite quotes comes from one of this year’s clinicians; John Cohen from Mississippi St. John speaks all over the country at not only big national conventions, but small ones too. He said, “Looking forward to seeing you at the clinic. You guys are first class and run an incredible clinic.” My hope is that you will feel the same after this weekend. I would also like to take time to welcome you to the Hyatt Regency, “Downtown Columbus”, and our home for the next few days. What an outstanding and first-class setting for one of the premiere high school coaches’ clinics. Please feel free to let any of the OHSBCA Board members or I know if we can personally help or assist you in any way this weekend while here at the clinic, or throughout the year. We, the board, wish to be the best representation of all our members’ coaches and their concerns. This weekend’s lineup consists of great speakers from all over the country.     According to guidelines set forth by the North Coast League, schools are to charge adults $7 and K-12 students/senior citizens $5 at the door for JV/varsity league basketball games. The North Coast League gives schools the opportunity to sell pre-sale tickets which allows the visiting school to sell tickets at a discounted rate for road contests. As an incentive, schools selling the pre-sale tickets get to keep the pre-sale money. Pre-sale tickets for road league games can be purchased at any point in the athletic office but you have an opportunity to buy in advance by filling out the form on page two. By making a pre-sale purchase, you’ll save a $1 per ticket per game and Beaumont School will bring in revenue for road games that would otherwise benefit the host school. He graduated with a B.A. degree from St. Lawrence University in 1980 and received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Notre Dame’s Law School in 1983. Prior to joining the Indians, Paul was a partner at Thrasher, Dinsmore & Dolan, a Chardon, Ohio based law firm. Dolan is involved in various business interests throughout Northeast Ohio and is engaged with many philanthropic and civic boards throughout the Northeast Ohio community. He is currently Chairman of United Way of Greater Cleveland and serves as a board member for The Cleveland Clinic, Greater Cleveland Partnership, Playhouse Square Foundation, Unify Labs and Evergreen Cooperatives. Paul has been the co-chairman for VeloSano Bike to Cure in each of the event's first six years (2014-19) and also races as an Indians team member. The Greater Cleveland Sports Commission honored the Dolan family with the 2019 Lifetime Achievement Award, which is annually presented to an individual or group that has demonstrated extraordinary dedication to the advancement of sport in Cleveland.
