The ceremony will be held at 3 p.m. Kendra Barlow ’20, of Painesville, will sign a NCAA National Letter of Intent to play soccer at Division II Shippensburg University. She is a four-year member of the varsity soccer team and was a team captain for the 2019 season. Her team earned the 2016 Division III state title and that year, she earned the team’s Rookie of the Year Award. In 2018, she earned All-Greater Cleveland Honorable Mention status. Barlow has earned academic honors in 2016 and 2018 and received the Holy Cross Literature Award, given to two students who use their writing to share their voice as they act as agents of change and raise the bar for those around them. Barlow is co-president of the Psychology Club, and is involved with two campus service clubs, Baking for Rainbows and the C.A.U.S.E. Club. She will be participating in a service trip to Arizona over Spring Break 2020. I love the campus and look forward to studying and playing there over the next four years.” Carly Cohen ’20, of Pepper Pike, will sign a NCAA National Letter of Intent to play tennis at Division I University of Richmond, where she plans to major in business. She says she chose the school because of the strength of the women’s tennis program, the distance from home and because “the coaches and girls are incredibly welcoming.” While at Gilmour, Carly played on the varsity team her freshman, sophomore and senior seasons. As a freshman, she and her doubles partner finished as the Division II state runner-up and was named First Team All-Ohio. She earned team MVP honors her sophomore year. McCall has played AAA hockey throughout high school. She has earned honors while at Gilmour and volunteers at the Greater Cleveland Food Bank and in the residence hall on campus. She said of her college decision, “I chose Sacred Heart because I loved the campus and the coaches, plus it fit everything I was looking for academically and athletically.” Madison Olsen ’20, of Hudson, will sign a NCAA National Letter of Intent to play soccer at Division II Slippery Rock University. Olsen has been a four-year member of the varsity soccer and track teams and has earned many honors along the way. Olsen was a starter her freshman, sophomore and junior years. Her senior year, she was named a captain, but was unable to compete after a season-ending injury suffered in a pre-season practice. Her freshman campaign culminated with district, regional and state championships (2016). As a sophomore, Olsen was named to the All-Greater Cleveland Third Team. Junior year, she was named Second Team All-Conference, Second Team All-Greater Cleveland and Second Team All-News-Herald. Her track accomplishments are just as extensive. Her freshman, sophomore and junior seasons, the team won district and regional championships. She is an eight-time state qualifier, a five-time All- Ohioan, has been named to the First Team All-Conference twice, was a seven-time conference champion, and was named the Sprint MVP for her team after her junior season. Olsen is undecided on her major and said she chose Slippery Rock because of its size, the welcoming atmosphere, its great academic and athletic reputation, the coaching staff and the feeling of home she had when she visited. She added, “Slippery Rock has so much to offer and I knew right from day one how special this place was and how happy and successful I would be there.” Maddie Puletti ’20, of Highland Heights, will sign a NCAA National Letter of Intent to play basketball at Division I University of Detroit Mercy. Everyone is so welcoming.” She will be joining Gilmour alumna and former basketball teammate Annika Corcoran ’19, who is currently playing there. Puletti is a four-year letter winner in basketball. After her junior season, she earned First Team North Coast League, Third Team All-District and Team Defensive Player of the Year. She played on the 2016 state champion team. OHIO HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL COACHES ASSOCIATION Dear OHSBCA Member, 1/20/11 Welcome to the 2011 OHSBCA State Coaches Clinic: “America’s Game”. The Ohio High School Baseball Coaches Association has become the 2nd largest high school coaches’ association in the country. Coaches, national speakers, and vendors from all over the country feel that the Ohio High School Coaches Association Clinic is one of the best in the entire country. One of my favorite quotes comes from one of this year’s clinicians; John Cohen from Mississippi St. John speaks all over the country at not only big national conventions, but small ones too. He said, “Looking forward to seeing you at the clinic. You guys are first class and run an incredible clinic.” My hope is that you will feel the same after this weekend. I would also like to take time to welcome you to the Hyatt Regency, “Downtown Columbus”, and our home for the next few days. What an outstanding and first-class setting for one of the premiere high school coaches’ clinics. Please feel free to let any of the OHSBCA Board members or I know if we can personally help or assist you in any way this weekend while here at the clinic, or throughout the year. We, the board, wish to be the best representation of all our members’ coaches and their concerns. This weekend’s lineup consists of great speakers from all over the country. I thank each and everyone of you speakers for agreeing to come speak and promote this great game of baseball.

  • According to Guidelines Set Forth by the North Coast League, Schools
According to guidelines set forth by the North Coast League, schools are to charge adults $7 and K-12 students/senior citizens $5 at the door for JV/varsity league basketball games. The North Coast League gives schools the opportunity to sell pre-sale tickets which allows the visiting school to sell tickets at a discounted rate for road contests. As an incentive, schools selling the pre-sale tickets get to keep the pre-sale money. Pre-sale tickets for road league games can be purchased at any point in the athletic office but you have an opportunity to buy in advance by filling out the form on page two. By making a pre-sale purchase, you’ll save a $1 per ticket per game and Beaumont School will bring in revenue for road games that would otherwise benefit the host school. Rocky River High School 2011 Boys Soccer Season Press & Media Articles This book is a compilation of the news and media stories that were published about the 2011 Rocky River Boys High School soccer team throughout the season. If you discover any mistakes or discover other stories, please contact Coach Zerbey ([email protected] or Kent Klodnick ( [email protected] ) with your information. Revised 7/19/14 Westshore Sports Fanatic - News: Soccer: Mistakes cost Eagles, Demon girls force tie Page 1 of 2 Soccer: Mistakes cost Eagles, Demon girls force tie By Jim Horvath It was a rough opening night for the North Olmsted boys soccer team. The Eagles were outshot 20-5 and made key defensive errors in a 3-0 loss at Twinsburg to open the 2011 season. “They were the better team, but but we made some mistakes that helped them on all three of their goals,” said Eagles head coach Chris Marsh, whose team travels to Olmsted Falls Wednesday night to open Southwestern Conference play. “We’ve got to be more stingy defensively, especially against teams of that caliber,” he said. “They put a lot of pressure on us, and overall I thought we handled it well. But the mistakes were costly.” North Olmsted keeper Alec DeAnna registered 13 saves, while Evan Saunders came in and had one save. Rocky River boys win opener Matt Siwkiewicz scored the game-winner in the 60th minute as Rocky River edged Fairview on the road, 2-1, in the inaugural Rockport Cup. The Pirate stopper was moved up front by head coach Kevin Zerbey before the midway point of the second half.
