Merauke Regency still has lliteracy problems related to the low ability of Calistung, especially in Baidub Village, Ulilin District. The purpose of this service is to provide training and assistance to the community in Kampung Baidub to be able to improve the ability of Calistung. Service methods used are through the stages of observation, socialization, mentoring training, monitoring and evaluation. The activity will take place in May-August 2019 with the target of the illiterate community and students of Bupul XII Elementary Inpres in Baidub Village, Ulilin District. The results of this dedication were obtained by Calistung learning media in the form of simple counting tools (abacus), picture cards, word boards, and Calistung books. The level of community participation and students participating in the activities is very high as indicated by the ability of the community Calistung and elementary students in Baidub Village to increase after the implementation of the service. Keywords: learning media; Calistung; Ulilin District. Abstrak Kemampuan Calistung merupakan pengetahuan dasar yang harus dimiliki oleh seseorang untuk dapat mempelajari berbagai hal. Kabupaten Merauke masih memiliki permasalahan penuntasan buta aksara terkait rendahnya kemampuan Calistung khususnya di Kampung Baidub, Distrik Ulilin. Tujuan dilaksanakannya pengabdian ini adalah untuk memberikan pelatihan dan pendampingan kepada masyarakat di Kampung Baidub agar mampu meningkatkan kemampuan Calistung. Metode pengabdian yang digunakan melalui tahapan observasi, sosialisasi, pelatihan pendampingan, monitoring dan evaluasi. Pelaksanaan kegiatan berlangsung pada Bulan Mei-Agustus 2019 dengan sasaran masyarakat buta aksara dan siswa SD Inpres Bupul XII di Kampung Baidub, Distrik Ulilin. Hasil pengabdian ini diperoleh media pembelajaran calistung berupa alat hitung sederhana (sempoa), kartu bergambar, papan kata, dan buku Calistung. Tingkat partsisipasi masyarakat dan siswa mengikuti kegiatan tergolong sangat tinggi yang ditunjukkan dengan kemampuan Calistung masyarakat dan siswa SD di Kampung Baidub mengalami peningkatan setelah pelaksanaan pengabdian. Kabupaten Merauke sebagai tapal yang sangat bergantung pada hasil batas NKRI memiliki peranan penting perkebunan. Akan tetapi, Kepala dalam menjaga persatuan dan kesatuan Kampung Baidub juga menyadari bangsa. Peranan tersebut tidak akan pentingnya pendidikan buat masa depan mudah dilaksanakan jika masih banyak warganya. Masih tingginya angka buta masyarakat yang berada dalam kondisi aksara di Kampung Baidub merupakan buta aksara. Sejalan dengan kebijakan permasalahan yang wajib dan mendesak pemerintah pusat, pemerintah diselesaikan. Masyarakat Kampung Kabupaten Merauke juga memiliki Baidub sebagian besar adalah suku asli komitmen yang kuat untuk menuntaskan Papua yaitu Suku Yei (68,5%) buta aksara (Maya, 2018). Distrik yang membutuhkan sarana pembelajaran menjadi fokus pemberantasan buta membaca, menulis, dan menghitung aksara diantaranya Distrik Okaba, yang interaktif dan menarik. (Nggaruaka, 2017) menemukan bahwa Kemampuan Calistung tidak dapat seseorang yang telah berada pada tahap langsung diberikan tanpa adanya dewasa, namun belum mampu membaca stimulus. The limited information available from the Indonesian government indicates the three proposed “food estate” projects could cover about 770 thousand hectares in Central Kalimantan (Borneo), two million hectares in Papua (New Guinea) and 32 thousand hectares in North Sumatra. More plans have been announced for South Sumatra and East Kalimantan and some others are expected. These projects would remove forests from ‘permanent forest’ to other uses (likely implying deforestation) targeting 630 thousands hectares in Central Kalimantan, 1.3 million hectares in Papua and all the project land in North Sumatra (32 thousand hectares). These numbers however are barely indicative, as official data are being contradicted by newly released official data. Citing the economic impacts of Covid-19, the need for renewed investment in Indonesia, and the escalating food crisis, the Indonesian national government has favoured the establishment of “food estate megaprojects” which permit logging and clearing vast areas of forested land, offering windfall profits from the sale of timber followed by establishment of palm oil and other export commodity crops on the cleared land.

Muell stemwood. Wood powder from the middle part of two trees was successively extracted by dichloromethane, ethanol, and hot water. The content of dichloromethane, ethanol, and hot water extracts were 0.17 to 0.47 %, 2.56 to 3.16 %, and 0.68 to 1.20 %, respectively. Total phenolics content (TPC) were from 549.05±25.75 to 570.35±137.05 mg GAE/ g dried extract (ethanol extract) and 175.9±50.4 to 465.2±16.0 mg GAE/ g dried extract (hot water extract). Further, total flavanols content (TFC) from ethanol and hot water solution varied from 257.45±24.45 to 301.25±73.25 mg CE/ g dried extract and 52.5±2.75 to 113±32.9 mg CE/ g dried extract, respectively. It was observed that, TFC of ethanol extract increased from bark to heartwood. By GC- MS, the lipophilic constituents composed of fatty acids, sterols, steroids, and other components. Short-chain fatty acids and sterols were the most abundant of the lipid compositions. With the regard to cell wall components, the content of holocellulose, alpha-cellulose, and lignin were from 68.33 to 69.47 %, 45.63-47.27 %, and 32.31-32.80 %, respectively.

The way in which this expansion occurs makes it necessary to understand the factors associated with why companies look for frontier lands and what externalities are generated during both the land acquisition and plantation development periods. Using a spatial analysis of the concession areas, along with data from household surveys of each clan from the Auyu, Mandobo, and Marind tribes who release land to companies, we find that investors are motivated to profit from timber harvested from the clearing of lands for plantations, activity that is facilitated by the local government. Land acquisition and plantation development have resulted in externalities to indigenous landowners in the form of time and money lost in a series of meetings and consultations involving clan members and traditional elders. Other externalities include the reduced welfare of people due to loss of livelihoods, and impacts on food security.
