Course Setup: Par 71 / 6,816 yards (R4 scoring average: 70.32, Cumulative: 71.76) Weather: Sunny and a high in the upper-80s. Wind from the W at 5-10 mph. Summary: shot a final-round 63 and turned a two-shot deficit into a four-shot victory at the KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship. The win is his second senior major and fourth victory on PGA TOUR Champions, and he moves to No. 1 in the Charles Schwab Cup standings. Broadhurst also receives a lifetime exemption into the KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship, and exemptions into the 2018 PGA Championship, 2018 and 2018 U.S. Senior Open. Paul Broadhurst, 72-66-64-63 – 265 (-19)  Playing in the penultimate group, Broadhurst gained his first share of the lead after a birdie on No. 5, and he took his first solo lead after a birdie on No. 12. His lead grew to three when he birdied No. 17 and Petrovic bogeyed No. 16, and a birdie on the 18th hole produced the final four-shot margin.  Broadhurst’s total of 265 matches the lowest 72-hole total in tournament history (/2016). It is tied for the eighth-best 72-hole total in PGA TOUR Champions history.  Broadhurst’s final-round 63 is the best finish by a winner in the tournament’s 79-year history. The record was previously held by , who closed with a 64 to win in 1999.  His third-round 64 and final-round 63 were the two lowest scores of the tournament.  This week, he ranked No. 1 in putts per GIR (1.57) and No. 2 in total putts (105).  In the four years the KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship has been played at Harbor Shores, a player from the United Kingdom has won three times: o 2018 – Paul Broadhurst () o 2014 – (Scotland) o 2012 – (England)

 In both of Broadhurst’s major victories, he has carded an over-par first round. He opened with a 3-over 75 at the 2016 Senior Open Championship presented by Rolex, and he went on to win by two with an 11-under total. No other winner on PGA TOUR Champions has opened with an over-par score since Broadhurst’s win in 2016.  For both of Broadhurst’s major victories, he has been paired with Miguel Angel Jimenez in the final round.  This is Broadhurst’s third two-win season as a senior golfer: o 2018: Bass Pro Shops Legends of , KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship (PGA TOUR Champions) o 2017: Scottish Senior Open, Paris Legends Championship (Staysure Tour) o 2016: The Senior Open Championship, PURE Insurance Championship (PGA TOUR Champions)  His paycheck of $585,000 is the largest of his professional career, and he moves to No. 1 in the Charles Schwab Cup with $921,099. He becomes the fifth player to top the standings this season, joining Jerry Kelly (4 weeks), (3), (2) and (1).

Tim Petrovic, 66-69-65-69 – 269 (-15)  Petrovic’s last solo lead came after his birdie on No. 7, and he last shared the lead after he made birdie on No. 10.  Petrovic earned $347,000 with his second-place finish. It is his highest paycheck since he finished T2 at the 2012 ($440,000).  It is Petrovic’s second runner-up finish this season, as he closed with a career-best 64 and finished T2 at the Chubb Classic in February.

Scott McCarron, 66-68-66-70 – 270 (-14)  McCarron parred the first four holes and was part of a three-way tie for the lead. He fell off the pace after bogeys on Nos. 5 and 6, and he finished T3 after a final-round 70.  McCarron’s record drops to 4-for-8 when leading/co-leading at the start of the final round.  The T3 finish is his eighth top-10 in 13 major starts, including a win at the 2017 Constellation SENIOR PLAYERS Championship. This season, he has seven top-10s.

Other Notes  Jerry Kelly went eagle-birdie-birdie-birdie on Nos. 9-12 to pull within two shots of the lead at 13-under. A birdie on the last hole gave him a final-round 65 and T3 finish. It was his sixth top-10 of the season and his third top-10 in six majors starts.  Miguel Angel Jimenez, winner of last week’s Regions Tradition, carded a final-round 68 and finished fifth.  Colin Montgomerie, a two-time winner of the KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship, made four straight birdies (Nos. 8-11) en route to a final-round 67 and a T6 finish.  Of the 41 PGA Club Professionals that started the week, Mark Mielke was the only one to make the cut. He carded a final-round 75 and finished 72nd at 4-over.  The field’s seven highest-ranked players in the Charles Schwab Cup (entering the week) made the cut, and five finished in the top 10: o 3.
