S Poker Room Eröffnet Phil Ivey’s Poker Room eröffnet Von Nicole Gordon Samstagnacht hat im ARIA Resort & Casino / CityCenter offiziell ein exklusiver 1-Tisch High Limit Poker Room eröffnet. Der Room erhielt den Namen eines Spielers, von dem seine Freunde sagen, dass er der beste All-Round Poker Spieler der Welt ist – “The Ivey Room“. Im Rahmen der Eröffnung am 22. Mai wurde ein 1 Million Dollar Invention Freeroll gespielt, bei dem die geladenen VIP Spieler die Chance haben USD 250.000 für den 1. Platz zu gewinnen und zusätzlich [USD]] 100.000 Bonus erhalten, wenn sie den Namensgeber des Rooms, Phil Ivey, eliminieren. Der Gewinner erhält weiters die Möglichkeit im Heads-Up gegen Phil Ivey anzutreten und dabei weitere [USD]] 250.000 gewinnen. Im Ivey Room haben die Spieler Direktzugriff auf die Bank, 24 Stunden Tischservice mit komplettem Catering und einen 42-inch Flat-Screen TV – um keine der Sportwetten zu verpassen. Die hausinterne Kasse bietet 480 Schließfächer, in denen die Spieler ihren Bankroll sicher und zu jeder Zeit verfügbar, aufbewahren können. Ivey war überaus geschmeichelt, als der ARIA Präsident und COO Bill McBeath ihn fragte, ob er dem neuen Poker-Room seinen Namen geben könnte. “Ich fühlte mich sehr geeehrt, als Bill und das Team vom ARIA mir mitteilten, dass ich dem 1-Table High Limit Poker-Room meinen Namen geben dürfte. Seit der Eröffnung im Dezember hat ARIA sich einen Namen als Marktführer in der Gaming Branche gemacht und ich freue mich schon sehr darauf bald im ARIA Poker Room spielen zu können“, sagte Ivey. In dem man Ivey mit ins Boot nahm und ihn dazu brachte dem Poker-Room seinen Namen zu geben, hat ARIA seinen neuen Poker- Room natürlich auch für das “Big Game“ interessant gemacht, welches momentan noch im Bobby’s Room / Bellagio stattfindet. Das Big Game hat im Laufe der letzten Jahre immer mal wieder den Austragungsort gewechselt. So wurde das Big Game schon im Sam’s Town, dem Horseshoe und dem Four Queens ausgetragen. Während den 80’ern war das Mirage der Gastgeber des Big Game und als im Jahr 1998 das Bellagio eröffnet wurde, wechselte das Game in Bellagio. Der Bobby’s Room, der nach Bellagio Inhaber Bobby Baldwin benannt wurde, eröffnete im Jahr 2004, nach der Post-Boom Expansion des Bellagio Poker Rooms. Hunderte Millionen Dollar haben in diesen vier Wänden bereits ihre Besitzer gewechselt und ein gewisser Teil dieses Geldes ist in den Taschen von Ivey gelandet, welcher seinen Weg vom Cash-Game Grinder zum internationalen Promi erfolgreich gegangen ist. Es ist in Vegas auch nicht so ungewöhnlich, dass ein Poker- Star Werbung für einen Poker-Room macht. Als das Wynn im Jahr 2005 eröffnete, wurde Daniel Negreanu als Botschafter für das Wynn verpflichtet und er war der Gastgeber einer Serie von High Profile Heads-Up Matches in welchen er gegen jeden, in jedem Game für einen Einsatz von [USD]] 500.000 antrat. Im Jahr 2007 nahm Planet Hollywood Michael “The Grinder” Mizrachi als den “hauseigenen Poker Promi“ unter Vertrag. Beide Deals waren jedoch recht kurzlebig. In vielen Punkten symbolisiert die Eröffnung des Ivey Rooms eine generelle Änderung im Bezug auf High Stakes Cash Games. Er wurde nicht “Brunson Room“ oder “Chan Room“ genannt. Anstatt als Hommage an die Vergangenheit des Pokers zu dienen, wurde der Room nach einem der aktuellen Super-Stars der internationalen Poker-Szene benannt. Das Big Game befindet sich in einer Phase der Veränderung. Obwohl daran schon seit Jahrzehnten oft die gleichen Spieler teilnehmen, wie z.B. Doyle Brunson, David Grey und Jennifer Harman, spielen in der letzten Zeit auch oft jüngere Spieler, wie z.B. Tom Dwan, Patrik Antonius und Ilari “Ziigmund” Sahamies mit und bringen frischen Wind in das Game. Das Big Game ist am interessantesten während der World Series of Poker und in diesem Sommer wird der Ivey Room sich einer Prüfung stellen müssen. Während der letzten WSOP waren die Stakes höher als jemals zuvor und überschritten an manchen Tagen die [USD]] 20.000/[USD]] 40.000 Grenze bei den Limit Games. Es wurden sogar [USD]] 2.000/[USD]] 4.000 Pot Limit Omaha Games gespielt, Wenn Ivey während der WSOP exklusiv nur im ARIA spielen wird, werden ihm sicher einige Spieler aus den Nosebleed Stakes folgen. Es wird interessant sein, zu beobachten, ob eine Koexistenz zwischen dem Bobby’s Room und dem Ivey Room möglich ist, da sich die beiden Rooms eigentlich das Publikum teilen müssten. Es wird eine Schlacht im Bezug auf die Loyalität der Spieler werden. Zur Eröffnung des Ivey Rooms fand ein [USD]] 1.000.000 Freeroll statt, das ARIA investiert also eine Menge Geld, um die High-Roller anzulocken. Die Bellagio Manager sollten so langsam mal in die Gänge kommen; sie sind momentan schon mit sinkenden Teilnehmeranzahlen konfrontiert. Neben Greenstein gehören zu den letzten sieben Spielern, die am Mittwoch die Siegprämie von USD 537.857 ausspielen, die nicht weniger bekannten Pros Erick Lindgren, Mike Matusow, Jeffrey Lisandro, David Benyamine, Tony G Guoga und der „WSOP Player of the Year 2007″, Tom Schneider. Insgesamt waren 39 Pokerspieler in Tag zwei gestartet und nur 14 von ihnen landeten schließlich im Geld. Zum Bubbleboy avancierte ausgerechnet Pokerlegende Doyle Brunson. In Level 14 (3.000/6.000, Ante: 1.500) ging Texas Dolly mit seinen 48.500 verbliebenen Chips all-in und wurde von Tom Schneider gecallt. Beide blieben „pat“, verzichteten also darauf, eine Karte zu ziehen, sodass Lisandro schließlich mit 9 8 gegen 10 8 von Brunson die Nase vorn hatte. Für Team-PokerStars-Pro Chad Brown lief es etwas besser. Er erreichte immerhin Rang elf, was ihm ein Preisgeld von USD 34.700 einbrachte. Auf Rang zehn eliminierte Greenstein dann David Grey und sicherte sich gleichzeitig mit 541.000 den zweiten Platz im Chipcount. Dennoch wurde es ein langer Tag, der um 2:30 Uhr schließlich abgebrochen wurde, da sich immer noch 17 Spieler im Turnier befanden. Jan von Halle, der mit 29.600 Chips gestartet war, schaffte gleich zu Beginn einen Double-up . Im zwölften Level (1.500/3.000, Ante 400) kam es vor dem Flop mit Pocket-Dreien zum all-in gegen A [key:card_spades] K [key:card_spades]. Der Flop brachte zunächst einen König, doch gleich am Turn tauchte die rettende 3 [key:card_hearts] auf und 50outs knackte die Marke von 100.000 in Chips. Nach zwei weiteren gewonnen Pötten mit A Q gegen A K und Pocketqueens gegen K Q ging er sogar mit 200.000 Chips in das Dinnerbreak, das insgesamt nur 66 Spieler erreicht hatten. Auch Team-PokerStars-Pro Humberto Brenes lag zu diesem Zeitpunkt über dem Average von rund 150.000 in Chips. Doch dann passierte das Unglück. Von Halle raiste mit Pocketjacks, der Spieler am Button ging mit 80.000 all-in und der Big Blind schob ebenfalls seine restlichen 28.000 in die Mitte.

    WSOP 2008 Day 41: 466 make Main Event Day 2a cut There may have been 1,251 players coming into Day 2a of the 2008 World Series of Poker Main Event on Tuesday, but only 466 came out of it by the time the last hand was dealt for the day. By the end of the day, all eyes were on Brian Schaedlich, from Cleveland, Ohio, who was sitting with one of the most impressive chip leads for a player at the end of a Day 2 that the WSOP has seen in years. He ended the day with about USD 801,000 in chips, and his closest rival is sitting with just USD 397,000. Brandon Adams is sitting in a strong position as well after Day 2a with USD 353,600. The Full Tilt Poker pro had a good stack of more than USD 70k after his Day 1 and said he played a lot of smaller and mid-size pots on Day 2a to continue his climb. „Today I started out playing very fast but then treaded water for a while,“ Adams said in his interview with PokerListings. „I think I ended up the second level of the day with around USD 160,000. I just had a good level and got it all the way up to USD 207,000.“ As he continued to accumulate chips, Adams landed at the ESPN feature table as well, where he had to play under the watchful eyes of the cameras. Adams is a renowned cash-game player who has managed to keep a fairly low tournament profile so far, but his exposure in the Main Event if he goes deep could change all that.
