Spencer Matthews spencer matthews Currently co-starring with his wife in E4’s new series “Spencer, Vogue and Baby too”, Spencer Matthews began his TV career on “Made in Chelsea”. He has won “The Jump” on Channel 4, starred with his friend Jamie Laing in Channel 4’s “Hunted” as part of the network’s Stand Up to Cancer programming and finished a runner up on the most recent series of the BBC’s “Celebrity Masterchef”. After his education at Eton and the University of Southern California (USC), Spencer worked in the city for several years, primarily as a forward foreign exchange broker at ICAP – a job he kept whilst also filming the first series of “Made in Chelsea” before deciding to move into entertainment full time. Spencer is a director of The Michael Matthews Foundation, a charity set up by the family in memory of his brother Michael who sadly passed away at the young age of 22. Currently, around 4000 children are being educated at schools supported by MMF. The Charity’s focus is to provide an education to those whom without help would be unlikely to receive one at all. MMF also focuses on the construction of durable school buildings, and in particular dormitories for girls – tangible assets which deliver lasting benefits. Spencer has visited Tanzania several times in the last few years to assist in any way possible and will continue to do so. He is also passionate about sport – playing rugby for Eton and the University of Southern California in the states. Spencer has completed 4 marathons and enjoys anything dangerous. He has an accelerated free-fall skydiving license – completing over 30 jumps without ever having done a tandem and is generally up for any challenge. CLEAN INSTAGRAM listen LISTEN.

You must refer to: . a questionnaire or an interview . open or closed questions . how you may check the reliability of responses (12 marks) You should use your own experience of carrying out an experiment to inform your response. Justify your decisions as part of your explanation. Task: Read the answer below and highlight in a different colour, where the answer addresses each of the following points: 1. Addressing all of the required features (the 3/4 bullet points) o a questionnaire or an interview o open or closed questions o how you may check the reliability of responses 2. Justifying your design decisions 3. Contextualising your answer – applying your knowledge to the scenario 4. Explicitly linking your design decisions to your own practical work Sample Answer For my investigation into the effects of Facebook use, I would carry out a questionnaire. The reason for this is that compared to an interview, they are a much quicker way of getting a large amount of data from many participants. This is because they just need to be handed out and returned; interviews are much more time consuming as interviewees are questioned one at a time, so the number of participants is also going be less than with a questionnaire. I found this out when I carried out my research at school into attitudes towards mental health in different age groups.

  • US Barefoot History
USA BAREFOOT HISTORY Keith St Onge, World and national champion The first man reported to meet the challenge of barefoot skiing was Dick Pope Jr, on March 6, 1947. In fact, for the first time, barefooting was recorded in pictures. According to sources at Water Ski Hall of Fame and witnesses of the event, it was actually the then 17-year-old A.G. Hancock, who made the initial attempts earlier in the year, driven by pioneer Chuck Sligh in Winter Haven, Florida. Charlene Wellborn Then the first woman to ski on bare feet was Charlene Dick Pope Jr Wellborn in 1951 at Cypress Gardens. The first barefoot competition was held at the 1950 Cypress Gardens Dixie Championships. As the tournament began, the first participants ended up with nothing but headaches, until Dave Craig of Miami successfully stepped of the ski. Then Stew Mc Donald of Tampa managed a short ride without skis. Pope, unaccustomed to the rough water of the tournament area had a difficult time, but was able to move into the first place with the longest ride. Finally, a young skier from Mexico named Emilio Zamudio was up. He kicked off his ski, stood up high, and waved joyously at the crowd, winning the competition. Ken Tibado Stew Mc Donald Ken Tibado As the story goes, Ken Tibado of Lake Wales introduced the two-ski jump out in 1953 and the beach start in 1956. Barefooting’s first significant public exposure came at 1956 tournament nationals in Laport, Indiana. A young skier named Mike Osborn thrilled the crowds with one of the first major barefoot exhibition in the World.

SELF, OTHER, AND JUMP ROPE COMMUNITY: THE TRIUMPHS OF AFRICAN AMERICAN WOMEN by WYNNETTA SCOTT-SIMMONS (Under the Direction of Ming Fang He) ABSTRACT Using Critical Race Theory, Critical Literacy, Black Feminist Thought as a theoretical framework and Oral History as research methodology, the lives of four young African American women are explored as they leave their culturally insular surroundings, “Jump Rope Communities”, to seek access to the codes of power and registers of language in all-White, all-girl, elite private schools during the late 1960’s and early 1970’s. In capturing the memories, perceptions, and lived experiences of these women over thirty years later, the journey into a world of divergences was explored--divergent language codes, divergent social, cultural, and economic stratifications, and divergent linguistic expectations, behaviors, and dispositions.

  • ANTERIOR CRUCIATE LIGAMENT INJURY to Sideways
ANTERIOR CRUCIATE LIGAMENT INJURY WHAT IS THE ANTERIOR CRUCIATE LIGAMENT? The anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) is one of four major ligaments that stabilizes the knee joint. A ligament is a tough band of fibrous tissue, similar to a rope, which connects the bones together at a joint. There are two ligaments on the sides of the knee (collateral ligaments) that give stability to sideways motions: the medial collateral ligament (MCL) on the inner side and the lateral collateral ligament (LCL) on the outer side of the knee. Two ligaments cross each other (therefore, called cruciate) in the center of the knee joint: The crossed ligament toward the front (anterior) is the ACL and the one toward the back of the knee (posterior) is the posterior cruciate ligament (PCL). The ACL prevents the lower bone (tibia) from sliding forward oo much and stabilizes the knee to allow cutting, twisting and jumping sports. The PCL stops the tibia from moving backwards. HOW CAN THE ACL TEAR? The most common mechanism that tears the ACL is the combination of a sudden stopping motion on the leg while quickly twisting on the knee. This can happen in a sport such as basketball, for example, when a player lands on the leg when coming down from a rebound or is running down the court and makes an abrupt stop to pivot. In football, soccer, or lacrosse, the cleats on the shoes do not allow the foot to slip when excess force is applied. In skiing, the ACL is commonly injured when the skier sits back while falling.
