15 technologies RUBBERS Rubber’s characteristics give the tyre different performances. Rubbers can be either Mono-Compound or Bi-Compound. Invented by Michelin in 1995, this is a mix of two rubber compounds on the tread ROAD providing central rolling efficiency and lateral grip. Rubbers compound A rubber compound developed to provide more grip (Range : MICHELIN Power All Season). A rubber compound providing abrasion resistance associated to a thicker layer on the crown. Increases durability (Range: MICHELIN Power Endurance). A rubber compound with a low deformation rate, offering low rolling resistance. Derived from Moto GP technologies, this compound also provides excellent dry grip (Range: MICHELIN Power Competition). - Longevity + Rolling Efficiency grip MICHELIN bike tyres brochure - 16 technologies Casings A tyre’s casing is made up of threads, the thickness of which varies according to the tyre range, makes it robust, flexible, efficient and lightweight. The more threads there are, the finer they are, making the tyre lighter. On the contrary, the less threads there are, the bigger they are, making the tyre stronger. TPI (Threads Per Inch) refers to the density of threads per inch. ROAD renforts Reinforcements Protek: Reinforcements made to improve tore strenght. There are diverse: Reinforcement in the tyre casing to provide strength

Each wheel assembly includes a rotatable portion connected to its associated tire and a non-rotatable portion connected to the vehicle chassis. A sealed air passageway is provided between an inlet in the non-rotatable portion and an outlet in the rotatable portion of the wheel assembly which is connected to the tire. The sealed air passageway is provided in part by way of a longitudinally extending bore in the spindle which communicates with a chamber defined by a sleeve and a pair of air seals between the sleeve and spindle. A manually actable selector device in the vehicle is provided to permit the user to select one of a plurality of preset air pressure settings for the tires. An air regulating system quickly responds to the selected setting to automatically regulate the air pressure within the tires at the preset pressure associated with the selected setting of the selector device. A master- slave valving arrangement controlled by pilot air is preferably used to perform the inflation or deflation process. • Construction of a Computational Model of a Go-Kart for Dynamic Analysis
Construction of a Computational Model of a Go-Kart for Dynamic Analysis Multibody model construction and theoretical analysis Jonathan Mikler A. Advisor: Andres Leonardo Gonzales Mancera Ph.D A thesis presented to apply for the degree of B.Sc Mechanical Engineer Department of Mechanical Engineering Los Andes University Bogot´a,Colombia December 2018 Abstract A multibody model was developed in the Msc-Adams/Car software to recreate an electric Go- Kar. The prototype vehicle was built on top of a ICE chassis, where an PMAC motor and the subsequent powertrain were installed. The model was created by examining the real prototype and modelling its components to a basic but satisfying level of details, taking into account each individual weight and position. The simulations carried out were a step steer were for most cases was ran at 30 km/h (48 mph) offered results on the dynamic response of the vehicle to this simple maneuver and simple analysis of the consistency and congruence with theory was possible. Weight distribution for both axles, as well as slip angle development were observed in the simulations, and since the vehicle was cataloged as understeer, this results were consistent with the theory. lastly, the characteristic speed was validated through multiple simulation ran at different speeds, where the maximum yaw rate was observed at a speed close to the theoretical characteristic speed. 2 Dedication This work is completely dedicated to my family, who in different ways contributed, promoted and celebrated my passing through engineering school. To my parents who's trust never quivered, to my siblings, who's support for me was felt at every step and to my grandparents, who's love and pride played a much more subtle but equally powerful role in my life.
