The Hunter project has shown that the initial impact saw an increase in club and centre involvement. However, in 2011-2012 a noticeable plateau in dual registrations was observed. CLUBS ON TRACK

After a review of the process held in 2010, Clubs on Track was re- introduced and clubs once again completed the self-assessment survey. All clubs were issued the relevant data ANSW had on file, and in turn, clubs completed sections relating to coaching and officiating, membership, marketing and promotion, competition and events, and administration.

Most clubs engaged with the process in full and in turn provided honest feedback about the health of their organisation and a sincere thank you to the 55 presidents, registrars or other club volunteers who gave their time to complete the form.

Completion of the COT survey allows ANSW to identify where clubs are achieving and where they require further support, so it is disappointing that some clubs failed to complete the survey. It is hoped for future rollouts of COT that all clubs can participate fully in the program.

A stock-take of all the Athletics NSW equipment has been achieved. The quantity and condition of the equipment has been identified for future consideration. It was identified that an audit of the venues and equipment used by Athletics NSW is to be undertaken to determine the capability and standard of venues to host ANSW meets. This will enable competition management to select appropriate venues for scheduled events. Ron Richter and Rob Blackadder have made steady progress distributing facility/equipment assessment forms and making site visits for visual inspection.

ANSW officials have officiated at international meets both here and overseas. These meets included the IAAF World Championships, IPC Summer Down Under series, Oceania Championships, meets, the IAAF Olympic Selection Trials and the Track Classic.

In recognition of the commitment of our officials, Athletics NSW has a recognition and reward scheme based on the total number of meets an official has attended. The scheme involves three levels with the pinnacle level awarded to those who have officiated in 25 or more meets. Congratulations to the following officials who reached that level: • Don Allen, Marc Ambat, Phil Blunt, Neville Fenn, Murray Gaudin, David Higgins, Peter Higgins, Rob Jones, Graham Kearns, Terry Manns, Betty Moore, Janet Munro, John Munro, Janet Nixon, Evan Parsons, Jeanette Richter, Ron Richter, John Smith, Stan Stark, Tony Smyth and Del Warrick

Athletics NSW also wishes to congratulate two award recipients who were recognised at the 2012 Athletics NSW Awards Dinner: • Official of the Year: Ron Richter • New Official of the Year: Elly Jones

On behalf of the athletes, coaches, spectators, Athletics NSW Board of Directors and the staff, all the officials are thanked for their outstanding contribution to the sport of athletics. ANSW endeavours to provide the opportunities and resources to continue making officiating a rewarding and enjoyable experience.
