AT. #: =1 ~ '1 {~omments· :riJ\ 7 / ~ ( On April 23rd, 2011 I am planning a Memorial Service for the 100 sled dogs that were killed in Whistler. f

The following is information I have given the members of RIP SLED DOGS on Face Book.

Note: There will be no petitions, no signup sheets, no walks, no political or judicial statements made. Out of respect for the sled dogs this service is to lay them to rest and to help each other heal from the loss of our KIDS! There will be a few minutes of silence followed by 100 dogs in formation along with their human friends stepping forward to light 100 candles. Followed by 1 full minute of howling and barking!! Several people will say the eulogies on their behalf. For those who can't make it there will be several videos put on YouTube. Thank you in advance for attending in person or in spirit.

Specific location in Ladner is unknown at this time. I will contact the Delta Municipality for information!

I felt it was only polite to let our Mayor and Council know what I am organizing. Once I have the specific location the Memorial Service will be advertised in Vancouver and Delta areas.

Thank You,

Her Worship Lois E. Jackson Mayor of the Corporation of Delta 4500 Clarence Taylor Crescent Delta BC V4K 3E2

Dear Mayor Jackson:

I am responding to your January 7, 2011 letter regarding three flood protection projects. I am pleased to hear Delta is accessing available funding to reduce the flood risk.

I also understand that positive movement has occurred after your letter was written. The staff from Delta, Emergency Management BC (EMBC) and the Federal Western Economic Diversification have resolved the immediate issues around the Canadian Environmental Assessment Act and EMBC has issued the contribution agreements for execution. The timelines within the agreements contained an extension that was acceptable to Delta staff.

Delta has worked hard to reduce the flood risks and I appreciate the opportunity to assist as necessary.

Dear Ministers,

Re: Corporation of Delta Boundary Bay Dike Upgrades, Building Canada Fund Flood Protection Program Projects: 40971, 40972 and 40973

In the summer of 2010, the Corporation of Delta applied for funding under the above referenced program and we were notified in late November that our requests for funding were approved. In this regard, I wish to thank both the Federal and Provincial Governments for their support of our programs.

The three projects are a continuation of works recently completed under the same program funding, which included a Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency (CEAA) review. Delta has worked with both levels of government to expedite completion of the required document submissions and has also completed the construction tendering process in order to meet the completion deadline of February 25, 2011 . To date, all submissions and requests for additional information have been completed by Delta. However, it is our understanding that further CEAA review is required and the completion of the funding agreement process is being delayed accordingly. We are concerned that delays in receiving the funding agreements will jeopardize our ability to complete the works.
