    FINAL ROUND INTERVIEW: TEAM NEW ZEALAND DANNY LEE & RYAN FOX 27 November 2016 Q. Ryan, Danny, can you give us your thoughts overall on your performance at the World Cup this week, Danny? DANNY LEE: We did good. I kind of struggled with my putting today. We could have been easily 13, 14 under or who knows. If we got it going early in the round we might have had a much better momentum going into the back nine. But I think I kind of let down the team New Zealand today. Q. Ryan? RYAN FOX: It was a great week. I really enjoyed it. As Danny said, we probably had three out of the four days we probably didn't get the putts to roll in as we would have liked other than sort of Friday, we holed a lot then. But it was a really enjoyable week and hopefully we can team up again in the future. Q. What do you put today down to, because jeez, you guys gave yourself a lot of opportunities. It just seemed to be the putting? RYAN FOX: Yeah, for me that's all it was. We had a lot of shots of 10 or 15 feet. You look at the Swedish guys today and they holed the majority of those and we had three or four hit the lip and it didn't go in, and a couple were probably just a little out on speed. But that's golf, you can't do it every week. Q. Danny, is playing in the team format something that you enjoy and would you like to see you and Ryan teaming up more in the future? DANNY LEE: Yeah, definitely, I think we match well, very good together.

    Lee rounding into form at Q-School • By Sean Martin Golf Week • December 1, 2010 5:17 p.m. • Archive WINTER GARDEN, Fla. – Danny Lee’s first-round 74 at Q-School was hardly impressive, especially for this one-time phenom. But it was important. Over the course of six rounds at Q-School, a player likely will have a bad round. The key is minimizing the damage. Lee, the 2008 U.S. Amateur champion, was 4 over after six holes Wednesday. He made the turn in 40 strokes, half of those swipes coming on Orange County National’s relatively flat greens. He missed three par putts of 8 feet or less in his first six holes. PGA Qualifying School (Rd. 1) The first round of PGA Tour Qualifying School got underway Wednesday at Orange County National in Winter Garden, Fla., as 162 players try to secure a spot on the PGA Tour in 2011. Lee shot 2-under 34 on his second nine. He made a 40-foot birdie putt from the fringe on the par-3 sixth, his 15th hole, and sank a 6-foot birdie putt on his final green. Lee is tied for 97th after shooting 74, but he’s just three shots outside the all-important top 25. The top 25 at week’s end earn PGA Tour cards. Lee’s start Wednesday was hardly what you’d expect from this talented 20-year-old. The same could be said about this season. Lee finished 159th in the European Tour’s Race to Dubai (with just one top-25 in 22 starts), and fell to 455th in the Official World Golf Ranking, about 300 spots lower than the peak he reached as an amateur.

Since that first playing, the Western Amateur has provided some of the best competition in golf, amateur or professional. This record book allows reporters covering the Western Am the ability to easily compare current achievements to those of the past. It draws on research conducted by delving into old newspaper files, and by going through the Western Golf Association’s own Western Amateur files, which date to 1949. A few years ago, a major expansion of the Guide presented complete year-by-year records and a player register for 1899 through 1955, the pre-Sweet Sixteen era, for the first time. Details on some courses and field sizes from various years remain to be found, but no other amateur championship has such an in-depth resource. Remaining holes in the listings will continue to be filled in for future editions. The section on records has been revised, and begins on page 8. This includes overall records, including a summary on how the medalist fared, and more records covering the Sweet Sixteen years. The 209-page Guide is in two sections. Part 1 includes a year-by-year summary chart, records, a special chart detailing the 37 players who have played in the Sweet Sixteen in the 63 years since its adoption in 1956 and have won a professional major championship, and a comprehensive report on the Sweet Sixteen era through both year-by-year results and a player register.
