What is ?

• Skype is a software application for making video and voice calls over the Internet. • Skype allows us to collaborate with staff and students much more dynamically and with richer features including , Skype calls, online meeting or conference calls, and video conferencing. • Other benefit uses Skype that allows us with desktop and application sharing, as well as interoperability with Microsoft products. Skype has been licensed by UAMS IT department so that you can conduct and participate in online meeting or video conferencing.

Navigating Skype

• Skype Option: The Skype default options are appropriate for online meetings, video conferencing, and audio settings with others. If you don’t want to use the default options, click the Skype Option to change the options. You can also access Options via the Menu Bar by clicking Tools and then select Options. • Status: Presence statuses include available, busy, away, and do not disturb. For example, if an online meeting or conference calls is currently scheduled in Outlook, your status appears as “In a Conference Calls” in Skype. • Skype’s Contacts, Chat Room, Conversations, and Phone: Skype has the ability to host online meeting, video conferencing, and group conversations as well as presence status and displays other contact information. • Find or search : Skype has always made it easy for people to communicate. Skype allows searching the global address list by name or phone number and viewing presence information easy in the Skype contact list. • Menu bar: By default, Skype doesn't display a menu bar. To show the menu bar, you need to click on the drop-down arrow on Skype Option and select Show Menu Bar, and then the menu bar available in Skype window. • Your picture: Skype shows your picture with your other contact information. You can show or hide your picture in Skype. • Helps: In the Microsoft Skype, Help is always available. In the upper right-hand corner of the Skype window, is a Help button. To open the Skype Help window, either click Help or press the F1 key.
