It provides a complete list of publication citations as well as a database report containing rearranged subsets of the list sorted by the keyword statistics, extant and extinct genera and species descriptions from the years 2000 to 2016, list of descriptions of extinct and extant species from 2016, parasitology, reproduction, distribution, diet, conservation, and taxonomy. The paper is intended to be consulted for information. Die hier beschriebene Fischfauna entstammt einer fossilreichen Tonsteinlinse im Oberen Buntsandstein von Durlach (Nordbaden). Die Fauna wurde durch eine systematische Gra bung gewonnen. Ettlingen 1 : 25000 Nr. 7016). Da der Steinbruch in den letzten Jahren mit Müll verfüllt worden ist, geben wir seine ehe malige Lage mit den Koordinaten an: R: 3462700 H: 5427500. Es handelt sich um eine Linse von etwa 10 m Länge und einer maximalen Mächtigkeit von 32 cm. -

Early Triassic marine fishes and reptiles Fish nodule therefore are key proxies in reconstructing the ecosystem recovery process after the end-Permian mass extinc- Redox condition tion. In South China, the Early Triassic Jurong fish fauna is the earliest marine vertebrate assemblage inthe Ecosystem recovery period. It is constrained as mid-late Smithian in age based on both conodont biostratigraphy and carbon Taphonomy isotopic correlations. The Jurong fishes are all preserved in calcareous nodules embedded in black shaleofthe Lower Triassic Lower Qinglong Formation, and the fauna comprises at least three genera of Paraseminotidae and Perleididae. The phosphatic fish bodies often show exceptionally preserved interior structures, including net- work structures of possible organ walls and cartilages. Microanalysis reveals the well-preserved micro-structures (i.e. collagen layers) of teleost scales and fish fins. -

Following the UNESCO inscription of the Swiss side of the mountain in 2003, the Italian side has been inscribed in 2010, stating that: “Monte San Giorgio is the only and best known evidence of the marine Triassic life but also preserves some important remains of terrestrial organisms. The numerous and diverse fossil finds are exceptionally preserved and complete. The long history of the research and the controlled management of the paleontological resources have allowed thorough studies and the classification of exceptional specimens which are the basis for a rich scientific paper production. For all these reasons Monte San Giorgio represents the main reference in the world concerning the Triassic faunas.” 4 THE GEOLOGICAL HISTORY OF MONTE SAN GIORGIO Monte San Giorgio belongs to the broad tectonic feature named Sudalpino , which encompasses all the rock formations lying South of the Insubric Line. The oldest rocks of Monte San Giorgio outcrop in spots along the shores of the Ceresio Lake, between the Brusino Arsizio custom house and the built-up area of Porto Ceresio. -

FIRST MENTION OF THE FAMILY PSEUDONOTIDANIDAE (CHONDRICHTHYES: NEOSELACHII) IN THE JURASSIC OF NORMANDY by Gilles CUNY (1) and Jérôme TABOUELLE (2) ABSTRACT The discovery of a tooth of cf. Pseudonotidanus sp. is reported from the Bathonian of Normandy. Its morphology supports the transfer of the species terencei from the genus Welcommia to the genus Pseudonotidanus. It also supports the idea that Pseudonotidanidae might be basal Hexanchiformes rather than Synechodontiformes. Chondrichthyens mésozoïques du Grand Duché de Luxembourg par Dominique DELSATE (*) Résumé: Rappel des faunes de Chondrichthyens du Grand Duché de Luxembourg précédemment décrites. Des spécimens nouveaux sont signalés. Description d'une dent d 'Acrodus de l'Hettangien de Burmerange, et d'une dent â'Hybodus grossiconus du Toarcien inférieur de Soleuvre. Deux aiguillons de nageoire dorsale d'Hybodontoidea, de l'Hettangien (Brouch) et du Toarcien (Soleuvre), sont présentés. Identification formelle du genre Sphenodus parmi les dents du Bajocien luxembourgeois. Mots-clés: Chondrichthyes, Mésozoïque, Luxembourg. Abstract: Previously described Chondrichthyes teeth from the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg are reminded. New specimens are reported. A tooth of Acrodus from the Hettangian of Burmerange and a tooth of Hybodus grossiconus from the lower Toarcian of Soleuvre are described. A very large fin spine from the Lower Toarcian of Soleuvre and a small one from the Hettangian of Brouch are introduced. Some Bajocian teeth are assigned to the genus Sphenodus. Bender2 I Department of Zoology, University of Stellenbosch, Private Bag Xl, Matieland, 7602, South Africa; email: [email protected] 2 Museum of the Council for Geoscience, Private Bag Xl12, Pretoria, 0001, South Africa Abstract - The Permian (Artinskian) Whitehill Formation (Ecca Group) in South Africa and southern Namibia was deposited as part of a large stratified inland sea which extended from the southern margins of South Africa, and southern Namibia, northern Namibia (Aba-Huab Formation, Huab Basin) to the Iratl Formation of the Parana Basin in Brazil and parts of Uruguay. A common biota exists between these two continents, namely mesosaurid reptiles, pygocephalomorph crustacea, wood, palaeoniscoid fish and insects. The Whitehill Formation also contains plant stem fragments, palynomorphs, coprolites, a cephalochordate, rare sponge spicules and traces of arthropods and fish. The good preservation, particularly of the palaeoniscoid material, from the Whitehill Formation contrasts strongly with the disarticulated scales and spines from northern Namibia and Brazil. Recent collections in the Whitehill Formation near Calvinia and Louriesfontein (Northern Cape Province) of South Africa have demonstrated the necessity for a review of the palaeoniscoid taxa present in these units. Possible new species have also been collected, including a deep-bodied form. INTRODUCTION The extensive stratified inland sea in which the Whitehill Formation (Ecca Group, Karoo Supergroup; - - - - - Waterford Fm Figure 1) was deposited had limited or no access to ------------ the ocean according to reconstructions by Oelofsen Fort Brown Fm and Araujo (1987) and Pickford (1995). -

The possible rela- tionships of the chordates and deuterostomes to other metazoans are dis- cussed in Halanych (2004). He restricts the taxon of deuterostomes to the chordates and their proposed immediate sister group, a taxon comprising the hemichordates, echinoderms, and the wormlike Xenoturbella. The phylum Chordata has been used by most recent workers to encompass members of the subphyla Urochordata (tunicates or sea-squirts), Cephalochordata (lancelets), and Craniata (fishes, amphibians, reptiles, birds, and mammals). The Cephalochordata and Craniata form a mono- phyletic group (e.g., Cameron et al., 2000; Halanych, 2004). Much disagree- ment exists concerning the interrelationships and classification of the Chordata, and the inclusion of the urochordates as sister to the cephalochor- dates and craniates is not as broadly held as the sister-group relationship of cephalochordates and craniates (Halanych, 2004). Many excitingCOPYRIGHTED fossil finds in recent years MATERIAL reveal what the first fishes may have looked like, and these finds push the fossil record of fishes back into the early Cambrian, far further back than previously known. There is still much difference of opinion on the phylogenetic position of these new Cambrian species, and many new discoveries and changes in early fish systematics may be expected over the next decade. As noted by Halanych (2004), D.-G. (D.) Shu and collaborators have discovered fossil ascidians (e.g., Cheungkongella), cephalochordate-like yunnanozoans (Haikouella and Yunnanozoon), and jaw- less craniates (Myllokunmingia, and its junior synonym Haikouichthys) over the 15 06_250317 part1-3.qxd 12/13/05 7:32 PM Page 16 16 Fishes of the World last few years that push the origins of these three major taxa at least into the Lower Cambrian (approximately 530–540 million years ago). -

Unitat d'Alcover. Resum: Els fòssils de les dolmicrites d'Alcover es coneixen des del 1963. La Unitat de les Dolomies Taulejades d'Alcover (pedra d'Alcover) té una potència de 70-80 m, i es troba en depressions interesculls. Estratigràficament es situa al Ladinià superior (Triàsic mitjà). Durant la deposició de la Unitat d'Alcover es van desenvolupar condicions anòxiques i hipersalines d'una forma periòdica. Les fàcies més abundants són constituïdes per capes de dolmicrites massives (d'entre 1 i 10 cm de gruix) i dolmicrites laminades molt fines. Localment apareixen capes ondulades amb plegaments i cabussaments. L'associació fòssil és al·lòctona i composta per grups florístics i faunístics com: plantes terrestres, celenterats, braquiòpodes, mol·luscs, artròpodes, equinoderms, peixos i rèptils, però la reputació d'aquests jaciments rau en el fet que els fòssils s'han conservat en dolmicrites i en la seva diversitat ictiològica. La fauna de peixos d'Alcover es caracteritza bàsicament per individus de talla mitjana. Els Saurichtiformes i els Perleidiformes són els ordres més comuns. Mitjançant aquest estudi els actinopterigis es classifiquen bàsicament a nivell genèric, i en alguns casos només a nivell de família. D'aquesta manera, i fins avui, han sigut prèviament indentificats 15 gèneres pertanyents a 11 famílies i nou ordres: Plycholepis, IBoreosomiis, Sauriclitliys, Colobodiis, Perleidus, IClenognaliclilltys, Peltoperleidiis, ICleithrolepididae indet., Pelíopleurus, Peripeltopleurus, IPlatysiagiim, Liiganoia, Eosemionotiis, Archaeosemionotus, Allolepidotiis, Eoeugnathiis, ICaturus, lOphiopsis, IPholidophoridae indet.
