Steven Cusumano, Director, Digital Media and Public Relations, will be the contact for news media throughout the 2021 . He will be available 24-hours a day at the following phone (480) 455-0048 and email address [email protected]. Media members may call, text or email at any time. Services to be provided by media relations staff include issuing a weekly news release, issuing news releases on other news items, season and gameday statistics, news conferences, practice and press box operations, and cre- dentials.

PRACTICES The general practice schedule during the season is Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday approximately 9 a.m. Practices will be held at the Kino Sports Complex, 2500 E. Ajo Way. Practices are open to the news media. Attending practice implies that news media members covering practice con- sent to the following: • Information, including video, that would provide opponents with a strategic advantage such as formations, strate- gies, personnel shifts or injuries cannot be published, broadcast or posted on the internet or social media, includ- ing audible instructions from coaches during the course of practice. • No information on injuries or absent players can be reported prior to the team issuing an injury report or specifical- ly providing that information. A depth chart and injury report will be issued 48 hours prior to a given game. News media will be required to stay in a designated area at practice The head coach and players will be available for interviews after practice. The head coach will meet with the news media on the field immediately when practice ends. Players are available for interviews once the head coach com- pletes his interview session. Media should contact a Sugar Skulls media relations representative at practice to request players to be interviewed. CREDENTIALS Credentials will be issued to professional members of media outlets that regularly cover the . All requests will be considered on a case-by-case basis. All credential requests must be submitted using the form provided by the Tucson Sugar Skulls. To request a form for your organization, contact Steven Cusumano at [email protected]. Credential requests for a specific game must be received at least 48 hours prior to the game. Parking passes will be provided but may be limited. A Sugar Skulls Credential Policy will be included when news media members receive their credentials. By accepting the credential, news media members consent to the Sugar Skulls Credential Policy. GAMES There is limited space in the press box at the Tucson Arena. Priority will be given to news media that covers the Sugar Skulls on a regular basis and news media that is working on deadline. An overflow space for news media will be available if needed. Photographers and videographers will have designated areas from where to shoot in the arena. The Sugar Skulls locker room will be closed after games. The head coach will be available for media interviews outside the locker room area after the game. News media who want to speak to specific players should make that request to media relations staff prior to the end of the game. We will make every reasonable effort to fulfill all requests for players. If you have any questions about any of these policies and guidelines, contact Steven Cusumano.

Tucson Arena at the opened its doors November 12, 1971, with the Ice Capades. A few days later it hosted Ike and Tina Turner in concert. Over the years it been host to many large touring acts including: Elvis Presley, Kiss, The Rolling Stones, Jimmy Buffett, Eric Clapton and U2. Tucson Convention Center is operated by SMG, the “gold standard” in public facility management. SMG has the programs, systems and talent in place to ensure that all SMG-managed facilities run smoothly and every event it hosts feels like a celebration. Capacity for indoor football is 6,684.

Cathy Guy, Owner Cathy Guy and her husband, Kevin, are the owners and founders of the Tucson Sugar Skulls. They also own Guy Sports and Enter- tainment, KG Coaching and G&T Sports, where Cathy handles all business operations aspects. Cathy is the Chief Operating Officer for the Sugar Skulls. She has spent the last 20 years leading departments in finance and human resources. Cathy also recently obtained her Arizona real estate license. Cathy achieved the rank of Captain in the Army Re- serves, Medical Services Corps where she directed finance and personnel departments of the 322nd General Hospital unit. A native of South America and raised in New York, Cathy graduat- ed from Fairleigh Dickinson University with her bachelor’s degree in psychology. In 1989, she received a commission as a Second Lieutenant from the Army ROTC program at Seton Hall University. Cathy has spent the last 11 years in Arizona. She is married to and they have two children: Alexa and Kody. Ali Farhang, Minority Owner Ali Farhang is the Founder and Chairman of the Board for the NOVA Home Loans Arizona Bowl, which is held annually at Arizo- na in Tucson. Ali is a community activist and coach who believes that making positive differences in ones’ community is an enormous aspect of living a successful life. Ali is also an AV-rat- ed attorney who practices in the areas of labor and employment, business consultation, commercial litigation and personal injury defense. Ali has litigated a wide variety of employment, traditional labor, corporate and general liability matters. Additionally, Ali has advised and assisted management clients seeking to enforce re- strictive covenants and with respect to a multitude of federal and state compliance issues. He also acts as de facto general counsel to a number of significant corpo- rate clients who conduct business across multiple jurisdictions.

Phil Sidoti, General Manager of Business Operations As the Sugar Skulls’ GM of Business Operations, Phil Sidoti brings a wealth of experience to the team’s sales and customer service operations. Originally from , New York, Phil graduated from Georgetown University with an Accounting Degree and attained the title of Certified Public Accountant (CPA) while working for KPMG, LLP.

Phil’s lifelong love of sports stats and business eventually led him to the Tulsa Drillers, one of the most respected teams in . During his five years inTulsa, Phil excelled in the team’s Membership and Group Sales departments and climbed up the ranks from Ticket Sales Associate to Director of Inside Sales. After seeing the Sugar Skulls’ strength and potential on the field, he has come to Tucson on a mission to improve and perfect the Sugar Skulls’ fans off-the-field experiences into the most memorable and fun events of their lives. Pat McCarthy, Director of Ticket Sales Pat McCarthy is is entering as first season as the Director of Ticket Sales for the Tucson Sugar Skulls. McCarthy previously worked in Marion, for the professional baseball team in a variety of different sales roles.

The Munster, Indiana native graduated from Indiana University-Bloomington with his Bachelor’s degree in Sports Marketing and Management.

Steven Cusumano, Director of Digital Media & Public Relations Steven Cusumano is entering his first season as a member of the Tucson Sugar Skulls. Cusumano joins the Sugar Skulls after having spent the majority of his career working in professional baseball, serving in a variety broadcasting, production and media relations roles for Minor League affiliates of the and , as well as the Tampa Bay Rays and Cubs MLB clubs. The Staten Island, New York native graduated from with his Bachelor’s degree in Sports Journalism. During his junior and senior years at ASU, he also broadcasted play-by-play for Pac-12 Network’s online streaming coverage of ASU Baseball and events. Abbey Rarick, Director of Business Operations & Partnerships Abbey Rarick is entering her first season as a member of the Tucson Sugar Skulls. Rarick joins the Sugar Skulls after having spent the majority of her career working in professional baseball in a variety of sales, marketing and event planning roles. She established her sports career working in new business development for the Pirates, before moving on to work for the Mariners in marketing and events for three years. After taking her experience outside of the sports world, she produced large-scale events in San Francisco and Dallas and now has returned to her passion in sports. The Holt, Michigan native earned her Bachelor’s degree in marketing from Grand Valley State University, with a minor in advertising and public relations. As a member of the Sugar Skulls, Rarick oversees the execution and fulfillment of corporate partnerships, business/teamoperations and gameday events.

Franky Lopez, Equipment Manager Franky Lopez returns to the Sugar Skulls for his second season with the team, after working as a football operations/equipment intern during the team’s inaugural 2019 season.

Lopez also previously worked as an equipment manager for USA Football in Arlington, during 2019.

A native of Nogales, Arizona, Lopez graduated from Nogales High School.

Zach Eidenschink, Equipment Manager, Sales Zach Eidenschink returns to the Sugar Skulls for his second season with the team, after working as a team operations and sales intern during the team’s inaugural 2019 season. Eidenschink was born and raised in Tucson, where graduated from Canyon Del Oro High School and is currently attneding . In his current role, Eidenschink works as both an account executive for the Sugar Skulls’ sales team, while also splitting his time as an equipment manager.

Kaylee Goettel, Head Trainer Kaylee Goettel, a Tucson-born certified athletic trainer, will be the head athletic trainer for the Tucson Sugar Skulls. Goettel is a Tucson native who went to University High School. Goettel graduated from Northern Arizona University with a degree in athletic training while working with the football, women’s soccer, and track and field teams. During her time at NAU, she also worked with Salpointe Catholic High School. After earning her license and certification in 2016 she began working at Empire High School as a trainer. After working at Empire for four years, she began working with Arizona Sports Care in conjunction with the Tucson Sugar Skulls.

Dixie Wooten, a two-time Coach of the Year and winner of the 2018 IFL championship, is head coach and general manager of the Sugar Skulls. “Dixie is a proven championship coach and we are extremely fortunate to have the opportunity to bring him to Tucson,” said Sugar Skulls Owner Cathy Guy. Wooten had a 36-8 regular season record in three seasons as head coach of the . His teams reached the all three years, winning the 2018 United Bowl championship. It was the first league championship in Barnstormers franchise history. Wooten was named IFL Coach of the Year in the 2017 and 2018 seasons. The Barnstormers finished the 2019 regular season in second place in the IFL with a 12-2 record but were defeated by the eventual league champion in the semifinals of the IFL playoffs. Iowa defeated the Sugar Skulls, 61-58, on a last-minute in the teams’ only meeting in 2019 at the Tucson Arena. “I’m excited for the opportunity to be the new head coach and general manager of the Tucson Sugar Skulls,” Wooten said. “After only one year, this is one of the premier organizations in the IFL with what we have in place in ownership, the front office and the football operation. We will compete for a championship this year.” The Sugar Skulls finished the 2019 regular season with a 7-7 record and were the first expansion franchise to make the playoffs in IFL history. Tucson clinched the playoff berth with a thrilling 55-50 victory over the in the last game of the regular season at Tucson Arena. The Sugar Skulls lost to Sioux Falls, 50-47, in the first round of the playoffs. “While we were all ecstatic to make the playoffs in our first year, our goal every year is to win a championship,” Guy said. “Dixie’s experience as a head coach and his history as a winner give us a chance to compete for a championship right now.” Wooten’s coaching career spans back to 2005, having spent six years in a variety of capacities at the high school level, before begin his indoor football coaching career. The Houston, Texas native is a graduate of the University of Phoenix with his Bachelor of Arts in Business Communication, by way of Cisco Junior College (Cisco, Texas) and Sterling High School (Houston, Texas). Dixie and his wife, Laviska, have three children: daughters Tiara Collier, Tania Collier and son Dixie Wooten III. Al Alexander Assistant Head Coach, Offensive Line Coach Al Alexander, the former assistant head coach of Salpointe High School, is in his first year as the assistant head coach and offensive line coach for the Tucson Sugar Skulls. Alexander grew up in Los Angeles, and went to LA Southwest College before briefly transferring to UNLV and then Western , where he graduated. He worked as a graduate assistant and offensive line coach for a year each at Western New Mexico after graduating. In 2003, Alexander moved to Tucson and joined the coaching staff at Salpointe Catholic High School, an Arizona high school football powerhouse. Coaching at Salpointe until 2019, he served as the assistant head coach for 10 years of his tenure, as well as an offensive line coach. He now serves as the offensive line coach at Mica Mountain High School, in addition to owning an auto detail shop in Tucson. www.tucsonsugarskulls.com 9 COACHING STAFF

Xzavie Jackson Defensive Coordinator, Defensive Line Coach Xzavie Jackson, a former four-time All-IFL First Team defensive lineman and all-time IFL sack leader with 81.5 sacks, is the defensive coordinator and defensive line coach for the Tucson Sugar Skulls. Playing high school football in Wichita, Kansas before going to Missouri for college foot- . He went undrafted in the 2007 NFL before spending time with both the Cin- cinnati Bengals and the Eagles. Jackson played in the IFL beginning in 2009 with the River City Rage. After a sea- son, Jackson headed to the La Crosse Spartans where he won the first of his four All-IFL First Team awards after placing fourth in the league in sacks. Following the 2011 season, Jackson signed with the Cedar Rapids, where he earned the other three of his All-IFL First Team awards and assisted the Titans in making several conference championship games. He finished his playing career with the in the 2018 season, earning a second team All-IFL honor. After retiring, Jackson moved into a coaching role for the Nebraska Danger in the 2019 season as a defensive line coach and a special teams coordinator. He helped the Danger reach the semifinals in the playoffs before they fell 45-62 to the Arizona Rattlers. Anquanius Frazier Special Teams Coordinator, Defensive Backs Coach Anquanius Frazier, a former IFL defensive back , is the special team’s coordinator and defensive backs coach of the Sugar Skulls. Frazier began his college career at Tyler Junior College, where in his 2006 season he finished third in the conference with four . He transferred to East Texas Baptist for two seasons, racking up 54 total tackles, 10 pass break-ups, and 7 interceptions in his tenure. He was named to the second team All-American in his junior year. Frazier also returned a kick- off for a 62-yard touchdown in his senior season. Anquanius played in the IFL for four seasons and in his 2014 season with the Texas Revolution, he put up big numbers with 69 tackles, two interceptions, two forced and 3 recoveries. Frazier began his coaching career with head coach Dixie Wooten on the Bemedji Axemen as the defensive coordinator and defensive backs coach. He reunites with Wooten on the Sugar Skulls for the 2021 season. Glenn Howell Strength & Conditioning Coach Glenn Howell is responsible for the Tucson Sugar Skulls strength and conditioning program. In addition to being a strength and conditioning coach for a number of teams in Tucson, he has owned his own business, Howell Athletics, specializing in the field. Howell is known in Tucson as a two-year starter at for the . He was an honorable mention All-Pac-10 selection in 1985, and was named the “Best Conditioned Athlete” by the team the same year. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the in interdisciplinary studies with an emphasis on sociology and psychology. He has 24 years of experience as a sports strength and conditioning specialist. He most recently was the strength and conditioning coach for the University of Arizona Rugby team and the Pima Community team.

Ryan Balentine joins the Tucson Sugar Skulls for his first season with the team; his eigth total season in the IFL. Balentine most recent- ly played for the Iowa Barnstormers from 2017-2019. As a member of the Barnstormers under current Sugar Skulls Head Coach Dixie Wooten, Balentine earned first-team All-IFL honors in 2019, one season after being named the 2018 United Bowl MVP for the IFL Champion Barnstormers. During the 2018 season, Balentine also led the IFL in multiple receiving categories, including receptions (89), receiving yards (1,089) and receiving (28).

Baletine also previously played for both Green Bay and Cedar Rapids in the IFL. The Killeen, Texas native spent his entire preps and junior college career as a , graduating from Har- ker Heights High School and Trinity Valley Junior College. Upon transferring to Southern Mississippi in 2009, Balentine transitioned from quarterback to wide receiver. He spent three years playing for Southern Mississippi, spreading 883 career receiving yards and eight touchdowns across 65 receptions.

2 MALIK STANLEY Wide Receiver 6’3” 220 Hometown: Tecumseh, KS College: Louisiana Tech University Stanley joins the Sugar Skulls for his rookie season in the IFL. Stanley began his college career with one season at Coffeyville Community College, before transferring to the University of South Alabama for two years. During his junior season at South Alabama, Stanley totaled 27 receptions for 324 yards and three touchdowns. He then finished his college ca- reer with one season at LA Tech. Stanley saw time in all 13 games, posting a team-high 649 yards on 40 catches and three touchdowns. The Topeka, Kan- sas native was a C-USA Academic Medalist and Commission- er’s Honor Roll member in 2020, while being an All-Conference USA Honorable Mention in 2019.

3 TAHJ TOLBERT Quarterback 6’6” 230 Hometown: Sugar Hill, GA College: Coahoma Community College Tahj Tolbert joins the Tucson Sugar Skulls for his rookie season in the IFL. Tolbert initially started his college career at Flori- da A&M before transferring to Coahoma Community College. In 2019, he played in seven games for the Tigers, completing 59 of 111 passes for 724 yards. Tolbert averaged 103.4 passing yards per game and threw six touchdowns. In his best performance with Coahoma, Tolbert overcame two interceptions and three sacks to throw for 213 yards and two touchdowns. His August 29th efforts lifting the Tigers to an 18- 10 win versus Jones Community College.

4 JAZERIC PETERSON Wide Receiver 6’1” 190 Hometown: Columbus, AL College: Faulkner University Peterson joins the Tucson Sugar Skulls for his first season with the team and his second in the IFL. In 2019, Peterson played for the Iowa Barnstormers under current Sugar Skulls Head Coach Dixie Wooten. Peterson ranked 6th in the IFL in receiving yards per game (51.5) and 10th in total receiving yards (566) during the 2019 season. Prior to beginning his professional career, Peterson attended Alabama State University, before transferring to Faulkner Uni- versity. The Columbus, Alabama native played both and football for Houston County High School. During his senior year playing varsity, Peterson totaled 45 catches for 894 re- ceiving yards and 13 total touchdowns.

5 SHELDON AUGUSTINE Wide Receiver 5’10” 180 Hometown: Vienna, VA College: Langston University Augustine joins the Sugar Skulls for the first time in his third overall IFL season. Augustine spent his rookie year in the IFL with Iowa in 2018, seeing action in eight games and making 29 catches for 226 yards and three touchdowns. He then played in three games for the Arizona Rattlers in 2019, making five catches for 76 yards and three touchdowns. Prior to joining the IFL, Augustine spent one season in the German Football League (GFL), after a three-year college career at Langston University. While at Langston, the New Orleans, Louisiana native was a three-time All-American selec- tion, and he was named the Offensive MVP of the FCS Bowl in Miami.

6 MICHAEL MINTER Wide Receiver 5’11” 180 Hometown: Atlanta, GA College: Middle Tennessee State University Mike Minter joins the Sugar Skulls for his rookie season in the IFL. Across 42 games for Middle Tennessee State, Minter padded the stat sheet with 152 total tackles, 34 passes defended, 10 tackles for a loss, three interceptions and one sack. Playing for the Sugar Skulls, Minter joins his former Mid- dle Tennessee State teammate, T.T. Barber.

7 CAM GADDIS Defensive Back 6’1” 195 Hometown: Tucson, AZ College: Pima Community College Cam Gaddis returns to the Sugar Skulls after seven starts for Tucson in 2019. Gaddis that year tied for the team lead with three interceptions while adding 23 solo tackles. He has four years of indoor football experience, including time with the Duke City Gladiators who are new to the Indoor Foot- ball League in 2021. Born and raised in Tucson, Gaddis gradu- ated from Santa Rita High School in 2010 and played at Pima Community College in 2011 and 2012.

8 MIKE JONES 5’11” 210 Hometown: Sarasota, FL College: Bethune-Cookman University Mike Jones returns to Tucson for his second season in the IFL. After having dominated his rookie season with the Sugar Skulls, Jones was named the 2019 All-IFL first-team selection at running back. He led the league in rushing with 711 yards, despite missing two games. Jones also paced the Sugar Skulls with 25 touchdowns, while adding 32 receptions for 293 yards. The Sarasota, FL native at- tended Bethune-Cookman University, where he led the team in rushing during his sophomore and senior years. Across a five- year career, including a redshirt season at BCU, Jones rushed for 1,842 yards and scored 21 touchdowns.

9 KENT SHELBY II Wide Receiver 6’3” 210 Hometown: New Orleans, LA College: McNeese State University

Shelby joins the Sugar Skulls for his first season with the team and his second in the IFL. Shelby spent his rookie year in the IFL as a member of the 2019 United Bowl Champion Sioux Falls Storm. Shelby played a key role in the team’s championship-winning performance, making two touchdown receptions in the United Bowl. Across 11 regular season games, Shelby racked up 518 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns for the Storm. Coming out of 2019 Shelby earned a con- tract with the Toronto Argonauts of the League.

The New Orleans, LA native spent a four-year college career at Mc- Neese State University, where he became one of the school’s most accomplished receivers of all time. Shelby finished his college ca- reer with 129 receptions for 1,910 yards and 14 touchdowns, ranking fourth, fifth and sixth in school history, in those three respective cat- egories. Coming out of college, Shelby signed with the as an undrafted in 2018 and participated in the team’s rookie mini-camp.

10 JAJUAN HARLEY Defensive Back 6’2” 215 Hometown: Tallahassee, FL College: Middle Tennessee State University Harley joins the Sugar Skulls after spending 2019 as a team captain for the Iowa Barnstormers. In two games for Iowa, Harley recorded 13 tackles, one sack and two tackles for loss. Harley began his college career at Florida State where he ap- peared in 19 games over two seasons. He transferred to Mid- dle Tennessee St. for the 2012 season, finishing the year with 74 total tackles and one forced fumble. He has had a number of NFL tryouts, most recently with the Football Team, and Buffalo Bills.

11 DEMRY CROFT Quarterback 6’5” 200 Hometown: Rockford, IL College: Tennessee State University QB Demry Croft joins the Tucson Sugar Skulls for his rookie season in the IFL. The Rockford, Illinois native was a star at Boylan High School before committing to the University of Minnesota. During his first two years at Minnesota, he amassed 708 yards and four touchdowns. He then transferred to Ten- nessee State where he threw for 888 yards and eight touch- downs in his only season there.

12 CORY BUTLER-BYRD Defensive Back 5’9” 180 Hometown: Compton, CA College: Butler-Byrd joins the Sugar Skulls for his first season with the team, and his second in the IFL. Butler-Byrd spent part of the 2019 with the , seeing time at wide receiver, defensive back and kick returner. Butler-Byrd played collegiately at the University of Utah, where he spent two sea- sons and saw action in 21 games. Playing both wide receiver and defensive back, he spent the majority of his junior season at , totaling 30 tackles, seven passes defended and three interceptions.

His senior season, Butler-Byrd primarily played receiver, mak- ing 29 receptions for 372 yards, while also adding 20 rushes for 163 yards and one touchdown. On the special teams unit, he also returned 20 kicks for 549 yards (27.5 yards per return) and two touchdowns. Prior to attending Utah, the Compton, California native spent two years at L.A. Harbor College, near his hometown.

13 EJ HILLIARD Quarterback 6’3” 210 Hometown: Miami, FL College: Florida International University Hilliard joins the Sugar Skulls for his second season in the IFL and his first in Tucson. As a member of the Quad City Steam- wheelers in 2019, Hilliard was named the IFL’s Offensive Player of the Year with a league leading 2,739 passing yards and 57 passing touchdowns, compared to just three interceptions. He also led the IFL with a 187.0 . As a runner, Hilliard added 462 yards and 18 rushing touchdowns. The Miami, Florida native began his collegiate career with three years at Florida International University. Across 22 games, Hil- liard threw for 1,756 yards with eight passing touchdowns. For his senior season, Hilliard then transferred to Valdosta State University, where he completed 225 of 346 passes for 2,425 yards and 22 touchdowns. He also added 312 rush yards and three touchdowns on 120 rushing attempts.

15 TAI’YON DEVERS Defensive Lineman 6’4” 245 Hometown: Pompano Beach, FL College: University of Minnesota Devers joins the Tucson Sugar Skulls for his rookie season in the IFL. Devers played four years for Minnesota where he amassed 21 total tackles and 6.5 sacks in his four-year career, as well as three forced fumbles. The Pompano Beach, Florida native graduated from Blanche Ely High School, where he played both football and basket- ball. During his preps career, Devers played in the 2014 BCAA All-Star Classic and was named the North team’s outstanding defensive player.

18 MARQUISE IRVIN Wide Receiver 6’2” 210 Hometown: Huntsville, AL College: Mercer University Irvin joins the Sugar Skulls for his rookie season in the Indoor Football League. The Huntsville, Alabama native played the entirety of his collegiate career at Mercer University, starting all 11 games in each of his four seasons.

Across Irvin’s 44-game college career he totaled 175 catches for 2,325 yards and 18 touchdowns. During his senior year at Mercer, Irvin broke his own school record for receiving yards in a single season with 814 yards.

19 CHRIS MARTIN Defensive Lineman 6’6” 260 Hometown: Oakland, CA College: Martin joins the Sugar Skulls for his fourth IFL season and first in Tucson. As a member of the Nebraska Danger in 2019, Mar- tin led the league with 8.5 sacks and 16.5 tackles for a loss en route to being named first-team All-IFL. From 2017-2018, Martin also played for Cedar Rapids, Wichita and Sioux Falls in the IFL. Prior to entering the professional football ranks, the Aurora, Colorado native was named a 2010 Army All-American out of Grandview High School, before continuing his football career at the University of Florida from 2010-2012.

20 BRAELEN EVANS Defensive Back 6’1” 185 Hometown: Frisco, TX College: University of Indianapolis Braelen Evans joins the Tucson Sugar Skulls for his rookie sea- son in the IFL. Evans started his college career at Montana State University, before transferring to Western Oregon in 2019. At Western Oregon, he racked up 36 total tackles, two inter- ceptions and eight pass break-ups in his senior season. At Hebron High School in Texas, Evans was an all-conference cornerback, earning all-district first-team honors at corner and second-team honors at running back He had 39 tackles with five pass breakups and two picks as a senior, as well as break- ing off a 90-yard TD run as a running back.

21 DELONDO BOYD Defensive Back 6’0” 200 Hometown: Indian Head, MD College: St. Francis University Boyd joins the Sugar Skulls for his rookie season in the IFL. During a four-year career at Saint Francis, Boyd started in all 45 games for the Red Flash, racking up 197 total tackles, including 127 solo, 14 tackles for a loss, 5.5 sacks, eight pass breakups, four interceptions, six forced fumbles and two fumble recover- ies. The Indian Head, native was a First Team All-NEC selection in 2017, after earning Second Team All-NEC honors in 2016. Boyd was also recognized on the CFPA Defensive Back of the Year Award Watch List in 2015. In 2018, Boyd earned an invite to rookie minicamp.

22 MATT ELAM Defensive Back 6’0”, 205 Hometown: Miami, FL College: University of Florida

Matt Elam joins the Tucson Sugar Skulls for his first season in the IFL, but his sixth year playing professional football. Elam was draft- ed with the 32nd overall pick by the in the first round of the 2013 NFL Draft. He went on to play 41 games over three seasons for the Ravens, totaling 131 tackles, one forced fumble and one . Since departing from the NFL, Elam has gone on to play in the CFL (Saskatchewan, 2018) and the XFL (DC, 2020). Prior to his professional career, Elam starred for three years at Flori- da, playing in 39 games.

Starting all 26 games during his sophomore and junior years, Elam compiled 176 tackles with 23.5 tackles-for-loss, 13 passes defended, six interceptions and three forced fumbles across his career for the Gators. After his final season at Florida, Elam was named a first- team All American and first-team All-SEC selection.

The Palm Beach Gardens, Florida native attended William T. Dwyer High School, where he played defensive back, , running back and wide receiver for the school’s varsity football team. Elam was named Gatorade Florida Football Player of the Year and “Mr. Football” after a senior year that included 1,883 rushing yards and 27 touchdowns offensively, with 53 tackles, 16.5 tackles-for-loss and four forced fumbles defensively.

23 TT Barber Linebacker 6’0” 255 Hometown: Colquitt, GA College: Middle Tennessee State University TT Barber joins the Tucson Sugar Skulls for his rookie season in the IFL. Barber played in 47 games at Middle Tennessee State University, starting in 41 consecutive games to finish his career with the Blue Raiders.

In four seasons, the two-time First Team All-C-USA selection totaled 323 total tackles (213 solo, 110 assisted), including 34 for a loss, as well as eight sacks, seven interceptions and six forced fumbles. By the end of his career at MTSU, Barber ranked fourth in school history in both total tackles and tackles for a loss.

As a team captain for the San Diego Strike Force, Fullum led the team in tackles-for-loss, sacks, quarterback hits and quarterback hurries. Fullum attended Richmond University, where he amassed 24 tackles and was named to the 2012 and 2013 CAA All-Academic Teams.

56 PRINCE UNAEGBU 6’5” 275 Hometown: Boston, MA College: Pace University Unaegbu joins the Tucson Sugar Skulls for his rookie season in the IFL. After a five-year playing career at Pace, Unaegbu spent time with both the Toronto Argonauts of the CFL and the Los Angeles Chargers of the NFL in 2019.Unaegbu spent his first four years at Pace as a tight end, hauling in 10 catches for 114 yards and three touchdowns. He then transitioned to defensive end in his fifth year at Pace, totaling 55 tackles, 8.5 tackles-for- loss, 5.5 sacks and a forced fumble in his final season for the Setters. After just his first season playing on the defensive line, Unaeg- bu earned Northeast-10 All-Conference Third Team honors. He was named Defensive Player of the Week and Homecom- ing MVP following victories against and Southern Connecticut State University, respectively. The Bos- ton, Massachusetts native also doubled as a two-way player at Brighton High School, where he was the captain and Most Valuable Player his senior year.

60 MATTHEW BURRELL Offensive Lineman 6’5” 275 Hometown: Woodbridge, VA College: Ohio State University Matthew Burrell joins the Sugar Skulls for his rookie season in the IFL. Burrell spent the early part of his college career at Ohio State, protecting the eventual No. 1 overall pick of the 2020 NFL Draft, Joe Burrow. After redshirting his freshman year for the Buckeyes, Burrell played in all 13 games for the program in 2016, followed by 12 games in 2017. The Wood- bridge, native then transferred to Sam Houston State University, where he finished his college career.

62 BRANDON HASKIN Offensive Lineman 6’4” 310 Hometown: New Orleans, LA College: Tennessee State University Brandon Haskin joins the Sugar Skulls for his first season with the team. After his college career ended in 2013, Haskin played one season with the now-defunct Alabama Hammers in the PIFL. He made his IFL debut in 2015, signing with the Spokane Shock. Haskin later joined the Iowa Barnstormers where he was part of the 2018 United Bowl Championship team. That same year, Haskin was selected as an All-IFL Second Team member. Haskin followed Iowa teammate and IFL MVP Drew Powell to the Arizona Rattlers in 2019. However, unlike the season before, Haskin and Arizona fell short in the United Bowl, 56-53. After a brief 2020 stint with the XFL’s Seattle Dragons, Haskin’s sign- ing rights with the Rattlers got traded to the Sugar Skulls.

66 JEREMY SCHONBRUNNER Offensive Lineman 6’3” 315 Hometown: Salisbury, MD College: Temple University Schonbrunner brings a wealth of experience to Tucson in his third separate stint with the IFL. After making his IFL de- but with the in 2012, Schonbrunner signed with the Iowa Barnstormers, who were members of the League, in 2014. The Salisbury, MD native then joined the AFL’s entering the 2015 season, where he started 13 games. Schonbrunner returned to both the IFL and the Barnstormers in 2016. 67 ANTONIO ROSALES Offensive Lineman 6’4” 305 Hometown: Tucson, AZ College: San Diego State University Rosales returns to the Sugar Skulls for his second season with the team, and his second overall in the IFL. In his first season with the Sugar Skulls, Rosales played in 10 games, anchoring an offensive line that helped Tucson rank second in the league in rushing, behind running back Mike Jones. Prior to joining the Sugar Skulls, Rosales spent a five-year col- lege career at San Diego State University playing in 28 games for the Aztecs. The Tucson native grew up on the San Xavier Indian Reservation as part of the Tohono O’odham Nation.

70 OSARO EROMOSELE Offensive Lineman 6’4” 305 Hometown: Hillside, NJ College: University of New Haven Osaro Eromosele joins the Sugar Skulls for his rookie season in the IFL. Eromosele began his college career at Southern Connecticut State University, starting 10 games across two seasons. He then transferred to New Haven for his junior and senior seasons, where Eromosele anchored the team’s offen- sive line by starting at left in all of a possible 23 games. He earned Northeast-10 All-Conference First Team honors his senior year, and Second Team honors his junior year.

Off the field, Eromosele earned Academic Honors and Aca- demic Distinction accolades on the NE10 Honor Roll, while being named to the New Haven Dean’s list for his spring se- mester. The Hillside, New Jersey native attended DePaul Cath- olic High School, where he spent three seasons on the school’s varsity team, being named a Second Team All-Conference performer.

73 SHAKORE PHILIP Defensive Lineman 6’2” 290 Hometown: San Bernardino, CA College: University of Louisiana at Lafayette Shakore Philip joins the Tucson Sugar Skulls for his second full season in the IFL, both with the Tucson Sugar Skulls. Philip played in Tucson during the team’s inaugural 2019 season.

Philip began 2020 with the IFL’s San Diego Strike Force, before the Covid-19 pandemic wound up canceling the IFL season. Pri- or to the IFL, he played for the Lehigh Valley Steelhawks of the NAL in 2017. Collegiately, Philip played four seasons at Widener University, where he amassed 192 total tackles, including 110 solo tackles. He finished his college career with 10 sacks, three pass deflections, two blocked kicks and five forced fumbles.
