2 My name is Sylvia Alcaraz, and I’m a student at the Literacy “ Council. Right now, I’m taking GED classes to get my high school diploma which is the main reason why I am here. By the way, it will help me get a better job in the future. Yet, the Literacy Council has helped me in many other ways, such as improving my English language, writing and reading. The Literacy Council was also very helpful in obtaining my citizenship that I recently acquired. Every step I take is thanks to the amazing staff and teachers who work here.
