Nebraska Football in the NFL Nebraska owns one of the most glorious histories of any school with players in the . Nearly 300 former Huskers have represented Nebraska in the NFL. Over the past 10 years, Nebraska has led all Big 12 schools with 56 players chosen during the NFL . No other conference school has had 45 players chosen over the past 10 seasons. The Huskers have been especially impressive with DOMINIC defensive players, with 35 chosen in the last 10 years. RAIOLA No other Big 12 school has more than 23. DETROIT LIONS Bob Brown became Nebraska’s third inductee in the Pro Football Hall of Fame in August of 2004, joining FALCONS and William (Roy) Lyman.

Will Shields, an 11-time lineman for the , was named the NFL Man of the Year in 2003 and is widely expected to be a future Hall of Famer after retiring this spring.

A total of 45 former Huskers have made 58 DEMORRIO appearances in the , and at least one WILLIAMS Husker has appeared in 13 of the last 14 Super Bowls. NU head coach Bill Callahan also has Super Bowl experience, leading the Oakland Raiders to the 2002 Super Bowl.

Husker NFL Facts Nebraska had four players selected in the 2007 NFL Draft. Over the last 10 years, Nebraska has averaged more than five players chosen in each NFL Draft for a Big 12-leading total of 56 drafted players.

The 2007 NFL Draft marked the 38th consecutive year the Huskers had at least three players chosen in the draft.

Since 1962 NU has had 269 players drafted, an average of nearly six selections per year, including an amazing 46 Husker offensive linemen.

Since 1990, Nebraska has had 21 defensive backs, 18 , 17 defensive linemen, 13 offensive linemen, 11 running backs, eight wide receivers, five and three kicker/punters chosen in the NFL Draft. Fourteen more Husker receivers have signed free agent contracts in that span.

Since 1998, Nebraska has had 14 defensive linemen drafted and five defensive ends drafted in rounds one or two.
