CaptiveAire is one of the industry’s leading manufacturers of commercial systems and sets the standard for commercial kitchen ventilation equipment and service. CaptiveAire is known for the fastest and most reliable lead times in the industry. They design and manufacture integrated kitchen ventilation packages including hoods, exhaust fans, electrical controls, direct- fired heaters, systems, fire suppression systems, grease filters and utility distribution systems.

"CaptiveAire’s customers are loyal," says CaptiveAire President Bob Luddy. "We are grateful for the opportunity to provide them the best commercial kitchen ventilation products at the best cost. Every one of CaptiveAire’s 600+ employees works hard to provide the fast, high-quality service our customers need and have come to expect."

CaptiveAire maintains a network of over 60 sales offices in the U.S. and Canada and five strategically located plants in , , , and . "CaptiveAire’s local sales and engineering offices across the country allow us to respond quickly to customer inquiries and needs," says Luddy. As a result, they boast some of the quickest lead times in the industry.

Voted "Best in Class" for the 12th consecutive year by industry dealers, consultants and Foodservice Equipment & Supplies magazine, CaptiveAire continues to lead the industry with product innovations designed to improve the operating efficiency of all foodservice facilities. Recent innovations include…

Indirect Fired Bent Tube Heaters Providing clean and tempered makeup air to meet your application needs, this push-through design ensures that combustion fumes will not enter the fresh air stream. Every unit is programmed to start in high fire mode to ensure consistent light-off and is equipped with an electronic, Vernier-type fully modulating control system. Annual fuel savings at 83% efficiency!

MPU Direct Fired Make Up Air The Modular Packaged Unit (MPU) is designed to be a factory packaged air conditioning and heating unit for 100% Outdoor Air (OA) applications. Units are sized to operate between 360 to 600 cfm/ton of cooling, depending on climate. The modular packaged cooling unit is optimized to work in conjunction with highly efficient make-up air delivery methods, such as perimeter supply plenums. The unit can either have a down or end discharge, and can be used with electric or gas heat (natural gas systems are the most common and preferred source). All

1 refrigerant is environmentally friendly R-410A and condensers have a minimum SEER rating of 14 for greater efficiency. One benefit of this unit is the multiple cooling stages. Multiple cooling stages increase the efficiency by not using 100% of the cooling capacity when this is not needed, thus allowing lower energy usage. An internal make-up air cooling thermostat automatically energizes the first stage when cooling of the make-up air is required. The same thermostat has a built in adjustable differential to energize the second stage of cooling when required.

Grease Duct Work CaptiveAire’s Grease Duct is ETL listed, single wall construction made from 20 gauge, 430 stainless steel. Duct diameters range from 8" to 24", with multiple lengths and accessories available. Grease Duct is ideal for use in kitchen ventilation applications where clearance to combustibles and temperature retention in the duct is not a factor. Duct system(s) are available as a stand-alone system, or as part of a fully integrated package, pre-engineered for optimum performance for exhaust fans and hoods. And best of all, it requires no site-site cutting or welding!

CORE Fire Suppression The CORE Protection Fire System is a revolutionary fire suppression system, which is tested and listed in accordance with UL 300. By combining Ansul wet- chemical appliance coverage and a water-based injection system, CORE Protection provides maximized security and unparalleled defense against kitchen-related fires.

Fully Modulating EMS Systems CaptiveAire’s Energy Management System (EMS) effectively reduces kitchen exhaust and airflow rates, saving restaurant operators both energy and money. Third party testing ensures full capture and containment of cooking effluent, eliminating spillage of convective heat when cooking equipment is idle. The system energizes fans automatically when increased duct temperature is sensed, and a digital temperature control modulates fans between fully adjustable high and low speeds to meet exact exhaust requirements. Estimated energy savings can range from 5 – 15% annually on the cost of operating your kitchen exhaust system.
