Someone recently wished me a “Happier New Year,” while lamenting the year that was 2020. There is no doubt that the past 10 months have shown us all why the expression “may you live in interesting times” is far from the blessing it appears to be at first glance. However (and to borrow another cli- ched expression), the hottest fires forge the strongest steel. As I look back on the year that was, I am inspired by the forti- tude and resilience shown by the Talla- hassee community. This is especially true for the mem- bers, volunteers, and friends of Sustain- able Tallahassee. Like nearly every oth- er organization, we saw our operations radically altered by the onset of the pan- demic. We have always been committed to connecting with everyday people and fostering conversations around our sus- tainable future, primarily through live, in-person events.
