FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 2019 DEW TOUR DAY THREE SHOWCASES WOMEN’S STREET SEMI FINALS, MEN’S PARK QUARTER FINALS AND THE BOOST MOBILE SWITCH JAM AT DEW TOUR SKATEBOARD COMPETITION DOWNLOAD PHOTOS AND VIDEO FOR EDITORIAL USE (Long Beach, Calif.) June 14, 2019 -- It was a classic California day in Long Beach on day three of Dew Tour, with some of skateboarding’s biggest names putting on a show in front of enthusiastic fans. The crowds piled into the venue around 2 p.m., staying well into the evening, under the Friday night lights to catch their favorite athletes on the road to the 2020 Olympics. In the Women’s Street Semi Final, 12 skaters from Quarter Finals joined the 12 pre-seeded athletes from the last World Championships which were held in January. The 24 skaters hit the innovative street course for their chance to be one of the eight who would advance to Finals on Sunday. After each girl took two runs, Mariah Duran (USA) secured the top spot, while Pamela Rosa (BRA) followed behind her and Leticia Bufoni (BRA) in third. In the Men’s Park Quarter Final held under the lights, 14 athletes met 16 pre-seeded skaters for their shot at moving on to tomorrow’s Semi Final and one step closer to the Final. At the end of the three heats and three 45-second runs each, the field was cut to 12 with Cory Juneau (USA) landing the highest scoring run of the day to advance in first. Alex Sorgente (USA) finished second, with Tristan Rennie (USA), in third. Boost Mobile Switch Jam, a Dew Tour original competition, featured 10 skaters hitting a special Boost Mobile park rail feature for the best trick title and a $5,000 cash prize, all while skating switch. While the event is not associated with the Olympic qualifying competition, the event still drew electric energy with the athletes attempting to land some impressive switch tricks. Micky Papa (CAN) and TJ Rogers (CAN) were notable standouts, but at the end of the 30-minute jam session, Chris Colbourn (USA) took best trick honors with a huge switch pole jam shove-it.
