His love for the American Saddlebred began with his mother Sharon who trained in Arizona for many years. He grew up showing horses and ponies and that has stayed with him throughout his life. Early on he was an assistant trainer to Larry Bacon, when he was in California training for Art Birtcher. A longtime association with Michele Macfarlane of Scripps Miramar Ranch in San Diego brought our honoree an array of great experiences from showing top horses to participating in photo shoots in exotic locations to riding many times in the famed Rose Bowl Parade aboard Macfarlane’s famous spotted American Saddlebreds. In addition to being a much sought after catch rider and driver, our Member Of The Day has worked for Saddle & concerns our beloved horses. His knowledge of American Bridle Magazine, managed the Winterfest Horse Show Saddlebred history is also right up there with the best of and this year’s inaugural California Springfest, worked them. For his professionalism and hands on participation for photographers Howie Schatzberg and Rick Osteen in so many areas of our sport, the American Saddlebred and he serves on the Board of the California Futurity Horse Association is pleased to recognize Kevin Michael Horse Show. There’s not much he hasn’t done when it as our Member Of The Day. Need a golf car during the World Championship Horse Show? What a catchy little tide it has, OU812, pretty clever huh? OU812 is the eigth Van Halen album or second one A.D. (after Dave). The bottom line to this album is thet it rocks. What is so great about OU812 is that it is not packed with the commercialism found in most of today's hard rock i albums. Now don't get me wrong, because it does include songs that will obviously be major hits. One track in particular, "When It's Love," is destined to be a Top 10 mainstay, but none of that Van Halen style was lost while producing the song. And if you're looking for the 90 m.p.h. speedbumers that the grovp is famous for, you'll also find them here. Two such songs are "Source of Infection" and "Sucker In A 3 Piece." These are sure to get your feet a tappin' or your head a bangin', whatever your preference may be. As usual there are the incredible guitar heroics of Eddie Van Halen and the band's great harmonies in the backup vocals. These are epitomized in the first single from the Wayne Cartwright+Staff album, "Black and Blue," which, incidentally, gets my vote Pleasing the crowd at Fan Fair... for the dirtiest song on the airwaves at the present time.

    Glam Rock By Barney Hoskyns There's a new sensation A fabulous creation, A danceable solution To teenage revolution Roxy Music, 1973 1: All the Young Dudes: Dawn of the Teenage Rampage Glamour – a word first used in the 18th Century as a Scottish term connoting "magic" or "enchantment" – has always been a part of pop music. With his mascara and gold suits, Elvis Presley was pure glam. So was Little Richard, with his pencil moustache and towering pompadour hairstyle. The Rolling Stones of the mid-to- late Sixties, swathed in scarves and furs, were unquestionably glam; the group even dressed in drag to push their 1966 single "Have You Seen Your Mother, Baby, Standing in the Shadow?" But it wasn't until 1971 that "glam" as a term became the buzzword for a new teenage subculture that was reacting to the messianic, we-can-change-the-world rhetoric of late Sixties rock. When T. Rex's Marc Bolan sprinkled glitter under his eyes for a TV taping of the group’s "Hot Love," it signaled a revolt into provocative style, an implicit rejection of the music to which stoned older siblings had swayed during the previous decade. "My brother’s back at home with his Beatles and his Stones," Mott the Hoople's Ian Hunter drawled on the anthemic David Bowie song "All the Young Dudes," "we never got it off on that revolution stuff..." As such, glam was a manifestation of pop's cyclical nature, its hedonism and surface show-business fizz offering a pointed contrast to the sometimes po-faced earnestness of the Woodstock era.

"Hi, it's Prince," says the wide-awake voice calling from a room several yards down the hallway of this London hotel. "Did I wake you up?" Though it's assumed that Prince does in fact sleep, no one on his summer European Nude Tour can pinpoint precisely when. Prince seems to relish the aura of night stalker; his vampire hours have been a part of his mad-genius myth ever since he was waging junior-high-school band battles on Minneapolis's mostly black North Side. "Anyone who was around back then knew what was happening," Prince had said two days earlier, reminiscing. "I was working. When they were sleeping, I was jamming. When they woke up, I had another groove. I'm as insane that way now as I was back then." For proof, he'd produced a crinkled dime-store notebook that he carries with him like Linus's blanket. Empty when his tour started in May, the book is nearly full, with twenty-one new songs scripted in perfect grammar-school penmanship. He has also been laboring on the road over his movie musical Graffiti Bridge, which was supposed to be out this past summer and is now set for release in November.

This federal copyright law case concerns several audiovisual recordings of the now- deceased international superstar Prince Rogers Nelson (“Prince”) performing his own musical compositions live in concert. Plaintiff Comerica Bank & Trust, N.A., in its capacity as the appointed Personal Representative of Prince’s Estate (“Comerica”), alleges that several videos recorded and uploaded to YouTube by Defendant Kian Andrew Habib (“Habib”) constitute copyright infringement under 17 U.S.C. § 501 and violate the civil anti-bootlegging statute, 17 U.S.C. § 1101. Doc. No. 27 at 4-5. In response, Habib raises multiple defenses to Comerica’s two claims and counterclaims that takedown notices sent on behalf of Comerica to YouTube were “knowingly, material misrepresent[ations]” in violation of 17 U.S.C. § 512(f).
