Sm, I HAVE the honour to submit my Annual Report upon the Territorial Police for the year 1897 ... Eleven Constables resigned during the year, and one was dismissed; one Sub-Inspector·· was disrated. During the year the senior Constables at New Town, Sandy Bay, ·vvynyard, and ,varatah were made Sergeants, and the following additional Constables were appointed :-Queenstown, 3; Zeehan, l ; Beaconsfield, I ; ,Vest Devon port, l .. A new station, with one Constable, ·was estab­ lished at Mount Read. The following reductions were effected :-Lefroy, one Constable; Teepoo­ kana, one Constable. Four residents on the Huon Hoad and one at King Island were appointed. Constables at nominal salaries for occasional and special local duty. New Police Stations were erected under the supervision of the Public Works Department at · Gormanston, Queenstown, and·West Devonport. ' · I append the Report of the Inspecting Superintendent, who visited every station in the several, Districts during the year. I viEited the Districts of Selby, George Town, Mersey, and Latrobe. The Officers of the Clerieal Branch at head quarters, as well as ,the Police Officers and, Constables generally, maintained their efficiency i11 the performance of the duties which de\·olved upon them, and afforded, in the care antl assiduity with which they discharged those duties, very great satisfaction. The completion 0£ the sixtieth year of the reign of Her Most Gracious Majesty Queen, Victoria was celebrated throughout the Colony with the same enthusias1n as in all other parts of the British Dominions, and it is worthy of note that no disturbance, or even a case of drunkenness or· disorderly conduct, was reported from any place in connection with it. · The Territorial Police Proyident Fund, which was not augmented in either branch by per-· centage payments from the salaries of members, or by moiety of fines during the year, had to its credit on 31 st December, 1897, drn following amounts :-Superannuation Branch, £5_438 2s. 3d. ;. Reward Branch, £1000 13s. 8d. The retiring allowances paid during the year amounted to• .£276 ] 9s. 8d., and the amount paid as rewards, &c. was £201 2s. 9d. The period analysed was from 1st October 2016 – 31st March 2017. Provide an assessment of the current control strategy (encompassing the UK wildlife crime priorities) and identify current, emerging and future threats. Plan owners to provide an overview of activity in their priority area. NWCU, in collaboration with UKTCG members, to recommend objectives for each priority area. These will focus on prevention, intelligence and enforcement. Report on the Political, Economic, Social, Technological, Environmental, Legal and Organisational (PESTELO) factors that could have a bearing on wildlife crime. Where identified, PESTELO factors are included in each specific section – highlighted in blue boxes. Purpose The Tactical Assessment is a National Intelligence Model product aimed at providing an overview of the threats faced by the UK since the last Assessment was produced. It seeks to describe and explore the threats and harm caused by wildlife crime. It will review all six priority areas to understand whether the threat is still present, where this applies to and ultimately to recommend if each needs to continue to be a priority area of business. It will also take into consideration the priorities which are highlighted by the Wildlife Crime Conservation Advisory Group (WCCAG) which are based on conservation status/concerns.

Polly Burns has resigned from FMS as an advisor on aquaculture, she has been a great asset to Argyll and other west coast Trusts and boards and will be missed. FMS will be recruiting a replacement. Seal control licence applications have been submitted, but we are still waiting to hear from Marine Scotland. The purpose being to only control seals that enter rivers when salmon are migrating.

This thesis shows that, while the Guard's ceremonial role was of special importance, the corps was of greater significance than this function would suggest. The corps was a true bodyguard, in constant attendance upon the sovereign throughout the two reigns described. One of Henry VII's first acts as king was to institute a personal bodyguard which also provided him with an impressive retinue, arrayed in richly embellished jackets of his livery and forming part of the royal affinity.
