NOT IN MY NAME

Engaging men to speak out against

violence against women

The National Federation of Women’s Institutes- and Joyce Watson AM, Assembly Member for Mid and West Wales are urging groups, clubs, associations and workplaces in Wales to pledge their support for the Not in My Name Campaign.

One in four women in Wales will experience domestic violence at the hands of a partner during their lives and 150,000 women in Wales will suffer some form of gender-based violence.

Every year, men and boys are encouraged to pledge their support to never commit, condone or remain silent about violence by wearing a white ribbon for one or two weeks, starting on 25 November, the International Day for the Eradication of Violence Against Women (also recognised as White Ribbon Day).

Over recent years, the Not in My Name campaign has been supported by the Devils Ice Hockey Team, the Welsh , Only Men Aloud, NFU Cymru, Farmers’ Union of Wales, the Wales YFC, FC, Newport FC and a number of local male voice choirs and sports clubs across Wales.
