Final Month of The Year! =) THIRD Hyperlink Journals Series ^_^ Hey everybody! =D And an early “Happy New Year’s Day” 2014! ^_^ Merry Holiday Season! =) Simply to keep You in tune with how the “TIGERM Follow Me Hyperlink Journals” are going to continue to be done simply a reminder that the original “Official Release” of this series was completed in October. So, the addresses Journalized for “October 2013” (First Journal) actually list “September 2013” hyperlinks. The month each Journal is released, it covers the month before it. Certainly hope that makes sense! ^_^ The links this “TIGERM Follow Me Hyperlink Journals” series covers are links I visited “November 2013.” However, the month this Hyperlink Journal was printed to be published is this month: “December 2013.” As awesome as it would be if it could be done in this day and age… it is not possible just yet for me or anyone who I know—to “travel into the future” (at this time ^_^) and collect hyperlinks for the month “December 2013” prior to me “Surfing the pixels of cyberspace” in well… “December 2013…” ^^; So long tale told – long description short— Every “TIGERM Follow Me Hyperlink Journal” covers all links visited the month prior to it. Simply restating what was just stated so hopefully clarity is true and sense is keen. There is actually a “Journal Series” that I am printing but is not yet ready for public release—an extension of the “TIGERM Follow Me Hyperlink Journals” that I’ll talk about later on in the future World Willing.

GOODISON: Tell me about your life before you came to New York. TATE: I was born in Dayton, Ohio, and we moved to DC when I was about twelve, so that would have been about 1971, 1972, and that was about the same time I really got interested in music, collecting music, really interested in collecting jazz and rock, and reading music criticism too. It kinda all happened at the same time. I had a subscription to Rolling Stone. I was really into Miles Davis. He was like my god in the 1970s. • Big Organ Trio Has Emerged As a Band with a Truly Unique Voice
Band Contact: Booking Contact: [email protected] Jim Wadsworth Productions 330-405-9075 [email protected] Bio "This isn 't your standard jazz trio", remarked Jambands.com. Since its inception in 2004, Big Organ Trio has emerged as a band with a truly unique voice. Their acclaimed debut CD was released in 2006 and has led to thousands of music and merchandise sales in addition to concerts across the U.S. and internationally. B.O.T. 's groundbreaking approach to the organ trio format has drawn the attention of Keyboard Magazine, who featured the band in 2006, and many of the world 's greatest Hammond players. The combo has played with Keith Emerson (Emerson, Lake, & Palmer) and shared the stage with Melvin Seals (Jerry Garcia Band). Gregg Rolie (vocalist/organist from Santana) and Tony Monaco (world renowned jazz organist) have also commented on the trio 's fresh and inventive sound. High profile performances at major music festivals such as 10,000 Lakes Festival (MN) and Fillmore Jazz Festival (SF) as well as shows with the likes of Robby Krieger (The Doors), Umphrey 's McGee, Leo Nocentelli (The Meters), and Stanton Moore (Galactic) have helped fuel the buzz. With an exploding fan-base worldwide and gigantic internet presence the band has won fan voting polls on websites such as Jambands.com and seen their debut album become the top selling Hammond Organ album on CDbaby.com. B.O.T. music can also be heard on networks such as E! Channel and radio programs around the globe. Mike Mangan (Hammond B3 Organ), Bernie Bauer (Electric Bass), and Brett McConnell (Drums) all share a great love and respect for the old school spirit of blues and jazz improvisation.

  • Introduction from Paul Whiteman, to Barry White, Man
Introduction From Paul Whiteman, to Barry White, Man This monograph explores a long- standing tradition of merging pop- ular music idioms with lush string orchestrations, big- band instrumentation, traditional symphonic instruments, and other markers of musical sophistica- tion, glamour, spectacle, theatricality, and epic or “cinematic” qualities. I call such deluxe—or “luxe”—pop arrangements and performance events “con- spicuous symphonization.” This phrasing underscores entertainment par- allels to Thorstein Veblen’s notion of “conspicuous consumption,” wherein luxury goods and services are employed for displays of social status, wealth, or cultural sophistication. A colloquialism with a similar social meaning is “bling,” a hip- hop slang term referring to displays of an ostentatious life- style of lavish and excessive spending. Conspicuous consumption and bling display are both tied to the purpose of inspiring envy. However, with bling, there is an aversion to melting- pot uniformity in that bling displays involve ironic stylistic tensions through juxtapositions of “low” vernacular/pop cul- ture and the high- status symbols of social power, whether real or perceived. Similar qualities permeate the US “luxe pop” repertories and events explored in this book. This music further reflects important changes in the character and aesthetic discourses of American culture and entertainment. Across the twentieth century, the United States experienced unprece- dented economic prosperity, resulting in middle- class expansion, particularly following
