There is nothing more difficult to take in hand or more uncertain of success than to take a lead in the introduction of a new order of things, because the innovation has for enemies all those who have done well under the old conditions and lukewarm defenders in those who may do well under the new. Bruce October 2012 Introduction Narrabeen Lagoon is the jewel in the crown of Sydney’s coastal waterways. Its 2.2 square kilometres surface is popular with kayakers, sailors, anglers and wind surfers while on the shore there are picnic areas and paths popular with walkers, runners and cyclists. About half of its 55 square kilometres catchment is bush which provides habitat for a wide variety of species viz 160 birds, 18 animals and 23 reptiles. Because it is intermittently open to the ocean, it is a true lagoon, not the lake which the Geographical Names Board, despite historical and scientific evidence, wrongly designated it from 1977 to 2009.

11957 LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY Thursday 24 May 2012 __________ The Speaker (The Hon. Shelley Elizabeth Hancock) took the chair at 10.00 a.m. The Speaker read the Prayer and acknowledgement of country. WARATAH ADVISORY AND ANDREW HUMPHERSON Ministerial Statement Mr CHRIS HARTCHER (Terrigal—Minister for Resources and Energy, Special Minister of State, and Minister for the Central Coast) [10.00 a.m.], by leave: I wish to make a short statement about claims made by the Leader of the Opposition in relation to my chief of staff, Andrew Humpherson. Yesterday I informed the House that Mr Humpherson worked in his own government relations consultancy business for seven months until March 211. I said: His website has been dormant and was not switched off due to an administrative oversight. He transferred his mobile phone number when he commenced as my chief of staff. His LinkedIn profile confirms that his government relations business discontinued in March 2011. That statement about LinkedIn was correct at the time I said it. However, I did not know at that time that the profile had only just been corrected by Mr Humpherson to reflect the reality; that is, that Mr Humpherson has not worked in government relations since he commenced employment in my office on 4 April 2011. He has received no requests to do such work, has undertaken no such work and has received no payment for such work since starting in my office. Anyone who looked at the Waratah Advisory website would have seen that it had been dormant since before the election. It contained out-of-date information and had not been updated since the election.
