BACKGROUND 2.1 Local Authorities are required under Section 5 of the Licensing Act 2003 to Review their Alcohol and Entertainment Licensing Policy every three years and the revised th Policy is required to be determined by the 7 January, 2011. 2.2 A complete copy of the Licensing Policy is available for inspection but Appendix A highlights the proposed amendments. 2.3 Appendix B records the register of conultees whom were contacted through email to avoid any additional costs in light of the current economic climate. The Licensing Section were also mindful that Central Government are also out to consultation “Rebalancing the Licensing Act” and several amendments to the Act could be forthcoming within the next 6 months (including allowing Local Authorities to Review the Policy when they feel necessary in future rather than the rigid three year period) possibly requiring another review shortly. 3.
