Myles Goodwyn & April Wine FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE OCTOBER 30, 2012 BOULEVARD CASINO & CLASSIC ROCK 101 PRESENT MYLES GOODWYN AND APRIL WINE LIVE AT THE RED ROBINSON SHOW THEATRE SATURDAY, APRIL 13 Coquitlam, BC – It all began in Nova Scotia back in late 1969 … the Henman brothers, David and Ritchie together with their cousin, Jim Henman and fellow musician, Myles Goodwyn all got together and formed a band called April Wine … a name chosen simply because they were two words that they thought sounded good together. Sixteen studio albums, three live releases, numerous compilations, a boxed set and thousands of concerts later, April Wine remains enormously popular in North America and throughout the world. Their hits include “You Could Have Been A Lady”, “I Wouldn’t Want to Lose Your Love”, “Tonight is A Wonderful Time to Fall in Love”, “The Whole World’s Goin’ Crazy”, “You Won’t Dance With Me”, “Just Between You and Me” and “Enough is Enough”. In 2006, they released two CDs … April Wine Rocks!, a compilation of April Wine favourites including a bonus live tune and Roughly Speaking, a studio album featuring new material written by Myles. The band was inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame at the Juno Awards in 2010. The group continues their hectic pace touring throughout both Canada and the United States still satisfying fans with a live mix of straight ahead rock & roll and power ballads – an April Wine mainstay. The line-up today consists of Myles, guitarist Brian Greenway, bassist Breen LeBoeuf and newest addition, drummer Roy “Nip” Nichol who joined the band earlier this year. Don’t miss Myles Goodwyn and April Wine when they’ll be performing for one night only at Boulevard Casino’s Red Robinson Show Theatre on April 13, 2013 TICKETS ON SALE THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 1 @ 10:00 AM DOORS 7:00 PM SHOW 8:00 PM Tickets: Orchestra $49.50 & Golden Circle $59.50 (+ Service Charges) Tickets available at all Ticketmaster Outlets or charge-by-phone 1-855-985-5000 or order on-line at www.ticketmaster.ca \ For media inquiries, please contact: Donnie Gordon - Manager, Entertainment Publicity & Promotions .

Just Between You and Me: A Memoir. By Myles Goodwyn. Toronto, Ontario: Harper Collins, 2016. 379 pp. ISBN 978-1- 44344-670-9. Reviewed by: David Montgomery, York University Libraries1 The story arc of any rock memoir is predictable. It begins or ends with substance abuse, there are troubled family relationships, extra-marital affairs, betrayals, friends left behind, “musical differences,” management conflicts, and of course, as in any bildungsroman the vicissitude of fortune. The guitar slinger turned raconteur is duty-bound to caution that even modest fame comes at a price, that “rock and roll is a vicious game.” Like the music, the memoir embraces the cliché. On his third go at rehab, April Wine frontman Myles Goodwyn reflects, “Things come in threes” (341). Goodwyn tells us that the goal of his unvarnished memoir was to set the record straight, and not to settle old scores. Neither as beloved as Rush, nor as emblematic as The Tragically Hip, April Wine was nonetheless quintessentially Canadian. With roots in the Maritimes and Quebec, the band regularly toured Ontario rock circuits in the early 1970s, expanding its range to the rest of Canada by the end of the decade. It peaked in the early 1980s, with modest success in England and the US, and garnered worldwide sales of 20 million albums—a solid career. Yet, despite winning several Juno awards and in 2010 being inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame, April Wine may also be a candidate for a quick fade. While songs such as “Weeping Widow,” “Oowatanite,” and “Roller” may resonate with the home demographic, future induction into Cleveland’s Rock & Roll Hall of Fame is unlikely.
