(^) Denotes Homecoming Scouting #10 Ottawa University (3-1, 2-0): After falling in the season opener to Baker University the Braves have reeled off three straight victories with two straight KCAC wins. OU put up 69 points in its 69-34 victory over Bethel College last Saturday at Peoples Bank Field. The OU offense is first in the NAIA in fourth down conversion percentage (100%), ninth in offensive passing efficiency (153.9), 14th in scoring A Numbers Game offense per game (38.5), 18th in total points scored (154), 21st in first downs per game (22.3), 22nd in rushing yards per game (207.3), 25th in total rushing yards (829), 30th in third down conversion percentage (39.3%), 37th in total offensive yards per game (391.8), 50th in total passing yards (738), and 50th in passing yards per game (184.5). The Brave defense is ranked ninth in the NAIA in sacks per game (3.3), 11th in total sacks (13), 14th in defensive passing efficiency (100.5), 15th in scoring defense per game (20), 34th in opponent fourth down conversion percentage (40.9%), and 48th in opponent third down conver- sion percentage (39%). OU’s special teams continue to be, well special. The Braves are ranked eighth in the NAIA in kickoff return yards per attempt (26.7), 13th in field goal percentage (.857), 34th in punts per attempt (38.7), and 35th in punt return yards per attempt (10.4). This will be the 79th79 meeting between the two teams. OU Scouting #RV McPherson College (3-1, 2-0): McPherson enters Saturday’s game on a three game winning streak after falling to Bacone leads the series 55-23. College to open the season 37-31. The Bulldogs defeated Kansas Wesleyan University last Saturday 23-17 in Salina. As a team, MC is ranked 16th in the NAIA in penalty yards per game (77). McPherson won the yardage contest as they piled on 369 on just 63 plays compared to 328 on 81 by the Coyotes. Hoffman had another solid performance for Mac as he completed 20-of-25 for 274 yards and two touchdowns. Rotering was four yards off of the century mark as he pulled down a season-high seven receptions. Both Ramos and Tremon Robinson caught four passes in the win. A running back by committee philosophy was implemented by MC to gain their 137 yards on the ground. Three ‘Dogs made it into double-digits in attempts with Pomele eating up the most yardage as he totaled 60 on his 11 carries. Terrance Jones ran for 37 on 12 attempts while Scott Thibodeaux logged 10 yards on 10 tries. Trenton Forrester had a career game for the Bulldog D as he racked up a team-high 10 total tackles, nine being solo stops. Tyler Bruton and Dominique Henderson each ended the contest with seven tackles. Defensive back Phillip Wilson knocked down three passes and made five stops in Mac’s victory (www.macbullogs.com). Tabor College dropped from no. 8 2013 KCAC Standings KCAC Overall to no. 15 with its loss to Sterling College last weekend. Friends University has entered the poll at no. 20 after receiving votes last week and this week’s opponent McPherson College is receiving votes in the poll. Team W L Pct. OU had two players with over 100 yards rushing in a single game with Luke Lundy rushing for 169 yards and Dexter Hayes with 122 yards. The Braves ended #RV McPherson 2 0 1.000 3 1 .750 up with a total of 466 yards rushing which is a school record. The 72 rush attempts is also a school record and the 655 yards of #10 Ottawa Uni. 2 0 1.000 3 1 .750 total offense is fourth in the OU record books for a single game. Lundy’s 169 yards rushing ties him for 10th in single game rushing yards in the OU record book. #15 Tabor College 1 1 .500 3 1 .750 Finding the End Zone: The Braves and the Bulldogs have two of the better scoring offenses in the NAIA. He rushed for 5,023 at Auburn High School. That is 2.85 miles. Making the Century Mark: In OU’s 69-34 victory over Bethel College last Saturday, Brave head coach Kent Kessinger coached in 2013 Non-Conference Opponents his 100th game as head of the OU football program.
