The post is within the Ayr Directorate of Anaesthesia, within an area-wide Anaesthetic Service which has a complement of 39 Consultant Anaesthetists. The Service serves a population of 375,000 with specialities located at University Hospital Ayr (in Ayr) and University Hospital Crosshouse (in Kilmarnock). There are currently 15 Consultant Anaesthetists based at Ayr and 24 at Crosshouse. This post is based at University Hospital, Ayr. As with all appointments to NHS Ayrshire & Arran this appointment may require the appointee to work sessions across Ayrshire. The successful applicant will be joining the Department of Anaesthesia at University Hospital Ayr, which currently has 15 Consultants, 2 Associate Specialists, 4 Specialty Grade Doctor and 5 Trainee Anaesthetists. The post holders will have the opportunity to develop sub-specialty interests to complement the existing expertise and interests of the department. The Department would welcome applications from individuals with an special interest in Intensive Care Medicine. University Hospital, Ayr is a relatively new General Hospital which opened in 1991. In addition to a wide range of laboratory and investigative facilities, it provides acute and elective care in Orthopaedics and Trauma, General and Vascular Surgery, Ophthalmology and Urology. NHS Ayrshire and Arran Redesign of Urgent Care Pathfinder Programme Rapid External Review 29 November 2020 NHS Ayrshire and Arran: Redesign of Urgent Care Pathfinder Programme Rapid External Review Purpose To provide a rapid external review (the Review) of the implementation of the Redesign of the NHS Ayrshire and Arran (A&A) Urgent Care Programme Pathfinder site to inform decisions on the national roll-out, anticipated start date: 1 December 2020. The key focus of the Review has been on monitoring preliminary issues and impacts of this transformational redesign across all care sectors within NHS A&A, which seeks to help inform and advise on early learning to be shared throughout Scotland. Background The Redesign of Urgent Care (RUC) programme seeks to promote significant transformational change in how optimal urgent care can be delivered for the people of Scotland. The programme offers a number of potential benefits in modernising our wider urgent care (unscheduled care) pathways, but also carries implementation risks, which need to be recognised, addressed and mitigated. It is acknowledged that not all Boards were in the same state of readiness as NHS A&A to undertake urgent care reform. Initial issues reported and considered by the Redesign of Urgent Care Strategic Advisory Board (chaired by Calum Campbell, Chief Executive NHS Lothian and Angiolina Foster, Chief Executive NHS 24), include: sustainability of local GP Out of Hours (OOH) services, Covid-19 hubs and clinical assessment centres (CACs). The potential longer-term impact of changing public access and use of urgent care services within in-hours periods may impact on increased service demand for NHS 24. -

However, despite this, our dedicated staff continued to cope with the ever increasing demand for independent advocacy in East Ayrshire. Workloads continue to increase and staff constantly juggle their time to ensure that those most vulnerable in our community are enabled to make their views known. We are very grateful to our funders East Ayrshire Council and NHS Ayrshire and Arran for their continued commitment to independent advocacy, particularly in these times of budget constraints and efficiencies. Integration Joint Board 17th June 2021 Subject: NHS Ayrshire & Arran Remobilisation Plan 3 Purpose: To present the NHS Ayrshire and Arran Remobilisation Plan 3 to the IJB Recommendation: IJB are asked to endorse the Health Board’s Remobilisation Plan 3 which was submitted to the Scottish Government on 26th February 2021. Glossary of Terms NHS AA NHS Ayrshire and Arran HSCP Health and Social Care Partnership 1. EXECUTIVE SUMMARY 1.1 On 2 April 2021, a letter was received from Scottish Government approving the attached plan (Appendix 3). This is now being progressed through the NHS and local authority governance routes for formal sign off and publication. 2. BACKGROUND 2.1 The final draft Remobilisation Plan 3 (RMP3) (Appendix 1) was submitted to Scottish Government on 26 February 2021 for consideration. 2.2 Following submission to Scottish Government, a meeting was held between Scottish Government and NHS Ayrshire & Arran on 9 March 2021 to discuss the content of the plan. A subsequent letter was received on 15 March 2021 detailing the meeting note and follow up actions required (Appendix 2). 3. PROPOSALS 3.1 There is now a requirement to approve the final draft of the Remobilisation Plan for the period April 2021 to March 2022. The approval route agreed for the final draft RMP3 is: • 20 April 2021 – Operational Corporate Management Team • 12 May 2021 – Integration Joint Board East • 24 May 2021 – NHS Ayrshire and Arran Board Meeting • 26 May 2021 – Integration Joint Board South • 17 June 2021 – Integration Joint Board North 3.2 Following approval through the internal governance processes, the RMP3 will become the contract with the Scottish Government for the year 2021/22, superseding the requirement for an Annual Operating Plan. -

EAST AYRSHIRE COUNCIL CABINET – 15 SEPTEMBER 2010 SHARED SERVICES - JOINT WORKING IN AYRSHIRE Report by the Depute Chief Executive/Executive Director of Neighbourhood Services and the Executive Director of Finance and Corporate Support 1. PURPOSE OF REPORT 1.1 This report updates Members on the progress in relation to the Shared Services Agenda and the work undertaken on a Pan-Ayrshire basis in this respect. 2. BACKGROUND 2.1 The Council has had an excellent record of partnership working since 1995, reflecting a commitment to Partnership as one of our four core values. The commitment is founded on the principle that we will deliver more for the communities of East Ayrshire through combined effort than we will on our own. Additionally, through joint working we can secure benefits in terms of economy, efficiency and effectiveness. Significant benefits have been achieved through joint working in shared premises and co-location; joint training; joint procurement; joint information sharing; rationalisation of plans and structures and shared services. A full list of the extensive arrangements in place is provided at Appendix 2. 2.2 A Pan Ayrshire Group involving the Leaders and Chief Executives of North, South and East Ayrshire Councils, representatives of the former Scottish Enterprise Ayrshire, NHS Ayrshire and Arran, Strathclyde Police and Strathclyde Fire and Rescue together with relevant senior officers have continued to meet and identify services or parts of services which might be suitable for joint delivery and have directed further work on these, as appropriate. 2.3 Since its inception on 26 April 2006, the Pan Ayrshire Group has developed a work plan which has been kept under review and prioritised as required. -

East Ayrshire Council Chapter 8 – Population and Human Health State of the Environment Report Page 1 EAST AYRSHIRE COUNCIL STATE OF THE ENVIRONMENT REPORT CHAPTER 8 – POPULATION AND HUMAN HEALTH SUMMARY Key Messages Population The total population of East Ayrshire according to the 2011 Census was 122,767. The general trend has been a growth in population of East Ayrshire - a growth of 2 % from the last census in 2003 By 2037 the population of East Ayrshire is projected to be 121,928 which is a decrease of 0.7% compared to the 2011 population Generally the age structure of the East Ayrshire population is similar to that of Scotland as a whole although East Ayrshire has a lower proportion of young people and higher proportion of older people compared to the rest of Scotland. Age of Population The age structure of the East Ayrshire population is typical of Scotland but levels of deprivation are higher than the Scottish average. There are marked socio-economic and environmental inequalities within East Ayrshire. Life Expectancy Life expectancy in East Ayrshire is marginally lower than the national average and reflects the socio-economic and environmental inequalities within East Ayrshire. Health Death from cancers are slightly higher in East Ayrshire with cardiovascular and cerebrovascular death rates, slightly lower. The rate of cancer registrations is similar to that elsewhere in Scotland but rates of hospital admission for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and coronary heart disease are much higher than elsewhere in Scotland. There are proportionately more emergency hospital admissions than elsewhere in Scotland. The health of older people in East Ayrshire (65+years) is markedly poorer than the national average in relation to serious respiratory and cardiovascular disease East Ayrshire generally scores below the Scottish average on health behaviours as reflected in alcohol-related deaths, smoking prevalence, participation in exercise and obesity.
