Since it appears doubtful when my monographic description of the dinosaurs of Transylvania1 that formed my so-to-speak preparatory works to my current dinosaur studies can be completed, due on one hand to outside circumstances, but on the other hand to the new arrangement of the vertebrate material in the kgl. ungar. geologischen Reichsanstalt accomplished by Dr. KORMOS, the necessity emerged of also exhibiting some of the dinosaur material located here, so that L. v. LÓCZY left the revision to me; I view the occasion, already briefly anticipating my final work at this point, to give diagnoses of the dinosaurs from the Transylvanian Cretaceous known up to now made possible from a systematic division of the current material, as well as to discuss their biology. The reptile remains known from the Danian of Transylvania will be mentioned only incidentally. Concerning the literature, I believe in refraining from more exact citations, since this work presents only a preliminary note. -

New teeth of nodosaurid ankylosaurs from the Lower Cretaceous of Southern England WILLIAM T. BLOWS and KERRI HONEYSETT Blows, W.T. and Honeysett, K. 2014. New teeth of nodosaurid ankylosaurs from the Lower Cretaceous of Southern England. Acta Palaeontologica Polonica 59 (4): 835–841. We present new nodosaurid teeth from the Valanginian of Bexhill, Sussex and the Barremian of the Isle of Wight, the first from the Lower Cretaceous of the United Kingdom. Teeth found during the mid-1800s from the Valanginian and ascribed to the nodosaurid Hylaeosaurus are probably from sauropod dinosaurs. The Isle of Wight tooth could possibly be referred to Polacanthus foxii, the teeth of which are unknown. These new English nodosaurid teeth are similar to those of North American and European Jurassic to Late Cretaceous nodosaurids, especially the American Gastonia, Texasetes, Mymoorapelta, Gargoyleosaurus, and the European Hungarosaurus. Two associated ankylosaur skeletons excavated from the lower Albian carbonaceous member of the Escucha Formation near Arin˜o in northeastern Teruel, Spain reveal nearly all the diagnostic recognized character that define nodosaurid ankylosaurs. These new specimens comprise a new genus and species of nodosaurid ankylosaur and represent the single most complete taxon of ankylosaur from the Cretaceous of Europe. These two specimens were examined and compared to all other known ankylosaurs. Comparisons of these specimens document that Europelta carbonensis n. gen., n. sp. is a nodosaur and is the sister taxon to the Late Cretaceous nodosaurids Anoplosaurus, Hungarosaurus, and Struthiosaurus, defining a monophyletic clade of European nodosaurids– the Struthiosaurinae. Up to this time these animals were known to be part of the Lower Cretaceous epoch in England and the Upper Cretaceous epoch in North America. A few fragmentary finds were made in the Upper Cretaceous in France and Lower Austria. Armored dinosaurs were first found in Mongolia by the paleontological expedition of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR. The discovery of these new deposits is of great stratigraphic and paleogeographic interest because it sheds light on the history of this interesting group of dinosaurs in Central Asia and makes it possible to draw some conclusions regarding the age of the rock masses containing these remains. This article is a summary of a study of a new group of armored dinosaurs from the lower levels of the Upper Cretaceous in Mongolia. -
