Among other things, the class members sought to require Remington to repair or replace their firearms. After extensive settlement negotiations, the parties finalized a nationwide settlement. -

Sauer 38H Semi-Auto Pistol with German Army Markings serial #59901, 45 ACP, 4" barrel with an about good bore showing some serial #410222, 32 ACP, 3 1/2" barrel with a bright near excellent bore. moderate oxidation in the grooves and good rifling throughout. The The metal surfaces of this pistol retain about 85% original blue with metal surfaces of this revolver retain about 95% reapplied polished blue overall thinning to gray patina, gripstraps toning to gray-brown and some showing remnants of light pitting scattered about underneath the blue scattered light freckling. The slide is still equipped with the manual and softened markings from the metal preparation. Most of the markings safety lever but only marked with the caliber designation on the left side. are still legible, there is a large naval broad arrow carved into the All markings are clear with appropriate "(Eagle) / N" commercial proofs topstrap and inventory number on the backstrap. The black checkered and "(Eagle) 37" Waffenamt on the left side triggerguard. The black Vulcanite grips remain in very good condition showing some scattered checkered synthetic grips are Franzite reproductions and remain in very moderate dings around the edges and overall handling marks. The good plus to near excellent condition showing some light handling cylinder has been shaved for 45 ACP and has no visible number, the marks. The barrel and breechblock are matching the frame, one original barrel is matching the frame, the lanyard ring is intact and the revolver is magazine is included and the action seems to function well marked "ENGLAND" along with commercial export proofs. -

IN THE SENATE OF THE UNITED STATES llllllllll Mrs. FEINSTEIN (for herself, Mr. BLUMENTHAL, Mr. MURPHY, Mr. SCHU- MER, Mr. DURBIN, Mrs. MURRAY, Mr. REED, Mr. CARPER, Mr. MENEN- DEZ, Mr. CARDIN, Ms. KLOBUCHAR, Mr. WHITEHOUSE, Mrs. GILLI- BRAND, Mr. FRANKEN, Mr. SCHATZ, Ms. HIRONO, Ms. WARREN, Mr. MARKEY, Mr. BOOKER, Mr. VAN HOLLEN, Ms. DUCKWORTH, and Ms. HARRIS) introduced the following bill; which was read twice and referred to the Committee on llllllllll A BILL To regulate assault weapons, to ensure that the right to keep and bear arms is not unlimited, and for other purposes. 1 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa- 2 tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, 3 SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE. 4 This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Assault Weapons Ban 5 of 2017’’. 6 SEC. 2. DEFINITIONS. 7 (a) IN GENERAL.—Section 921(a) of title 18, United 8 States Code, is amended— SIL17927 S.L.C. 2 1 (1) by inserting after paragraph (29) the fol- 2 lowing: 3 ‘‘(30) The term ‘semiautomatic pistol’ means any re- 4 peating pistol that— 5 ‘‘(A) utilizes a portion of the energy of a firing 6 cartridge to extract the fired cartridge case and 7 chamber the next round; and 8 ‘‘(B) requires a separate pull of the trigger to 9 fire each cartridge. 10 ‘‘(31) The term ‘semiautomatic shotgun’ means any 11 repeating shotgun that— 12 ‘‘(A) utilizes a portion of the energy of a firing 13 cartridge to extract the fired cartridge case and 14 chamber the next round; and 15 ‘‘(B) requires a separate pull of the trigger to 16 fire each cartridge.’’; and 17 (2) by adding at the end the following: 18 ‘‘(36) The term ‘semiautomatic assault weapon’ 19 means any of the following, regardless of country of manu- 20 facture or caliber of ammunition accepted: 21 ‘‘(A) A semiautomatic rifle that has the capac- 22 ity to accept a detachable magazine and any 1 of the 23 following: 24 ‘‘(i) A pistol grip. -

Doc. #1.1 The Complaint alleges certain rifles manufactured by Defendants since 1948 would fire unexpectedly without a trigger pull, and made claims of unfair and deceptive trade practices under Missouri statutes, 1 Similar putative class action suits were filed in Florida, Washington, and Montana. Doc. #84, at 5. Chapman v. Remington Arms Co., Case No. 12-CV-24561 (S.D. Fla. Dec. 31, 2012); Moodie v. Remington Arms Co., Case No. 13-CV-172 (W.D. Wash. Jan. 29, 2013); Huleatt v. Remington Arms Co., Case No. 13-CV-113 (D. Mont. June 4, 2013). According to the parties, Chapman and Huleatt were voluntarily dismissed in 2013. Doc. #180, at 13. Moodie remains pending. -

(Public) ─────────────────────────────────────── Sponsors: Representatives Michaux; and Burton. ─────────────────────────────────────── Referred to: Judiciary I. ─────────────────────────────────────── February 14, 1994 1 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED 2 AN ACT TO PROTECT PUBLIC SAFETY AND RECREATIONAL FIREARM USE 3 BY RESTRICTING THE MANUFACTURE, TRANSFER, AND POSSESSION 4 OF CERTAIN SEMIAUTOMATIC ASSAULT WEAPONS. 5 The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts: 6 Section 1. Chapter 14 of the General Statutes is amended by adding a new 7 Article to read: 8 "ARTICLE 53B. 9 "PUBLIC SAFETY AND RECREATIONAL FIREARMS USE PROTECTION 10 ACT. 11 "§ 14-409.15.
