Travel & Tourism - Grade 11, Open (CGG3O) Unit 1: Toronto Tourism Report & Ad Assignment Toronto is a city that draws tourists from around the world. We have a number of neighbourhoods, festivals, museums and parks that attract thousands of tourists each year. Task Your task is to research and analyze one tourist attraction in Toronto. You will create an attraction report and advertisement that will attract tourists to your destination. DUE DATE: ______________________ 1. Choose your attraction from the list. 2. Research your attraction. 3. Hand in the following to be marked: Complete a 1-page report and make sure to include the following: Name of attraction Map showing location of attraction in the city (this may be hand-drawn) List of 3 travel motivators & 3 travel barriers for your attraction One paragraph describing the main type of tourism this attraction is suitable for; e.g. if it is a provincial park it would be a nature tourism trip etc. Give three to four reason for your choice. Design a 1-page advertisement and make sure you include the following: Name of attraction with a ‘catchy’ slogan A list of activities people can do at the attraction Other highlights of the attraction Ad should be targeted at people interested in the type of tourism described in your paragraph. Pictures! Pictures! Pictures! Be creative!! This is your opportunity to show your artistic flair. Your ad should show evidence of thought, analysis and creativity. It should focus on a specific ‘target market’ depending on the attraction. For some examples of ads see the back of this assignment.
