Dear Bruce, I cannot thank you enough for the superb work done by Matthew and Michelle. We had 70 people for our holiday party on Sunday. Michelle planned everything beautifully, to the tiniest detail. It was perfect. Matthew not only saw that everything was in place, but also was constantly vigilant, assisting others who came to the Plantation Room by mistake to find their location, checking and re-checking throughout the entire 3 hours.
Chef DiBella was at his magnificent best. The food was beyond excellent, and my guests could not stop talking about it. The banquet was wonderful, as always! We ended up having some extra people show up (players that I couldn't say no to for their sports banquet) and your staff was absolutely wonderful! They worked with the increase in number by putting up 2 more tables, fully set with place settings, etc and the chef accommodated us in adding more rolls, lasagna, etc. They are to be commended in their professionalism and timeliness in making the transition seem flawless to the banquet attendees. Dear Golden Eagle,
We held our daughter’s wedding and reception at Golden Eagle Country Club in mid February. We just wanted to let someone know what a wonderful experience it was. We held our breath for nice weather so that we could have the wedding ceremony outside at your new pergola. The weather was quite cooperative and it was a beautiful wedding. Having the pergola with all the nature surrounding it made decorations minimal. We used both the Magnolia Room and the Plantation Room for our reception. They were exquisite! We had a dance floor, a DJ, hors d’oeuvres tables and almost 130 guests but it never felt crowded. With a group that size, you expect “banquet” food. Our meal was anything but that. Everything was piping hot when it was served and it all was served in a very timely manner. And the quality and quantity of the meal was so much more than we expected. There was so much food that many of us at my table just couldn’t eat it all. Everything was scrumptious!
The morning before the wedding, the groom’s mother went out to Golden Eagle to check everything out. I got a call from her mid-morning. She couldn’t say enough about how beautiful everything looked and what a great decision we had made picking Golden Eagle for our daughter’s special day. All night long I heard the same feelings from many of our guests. We have even received a number of notes since the wedding stating the same sentiments.
We did hire Michelle as our wedding planner and she did a wonderful job. She is such a pleasant, caring person and very helpful. Our daughter lives in Tallahassee but we live in Virginia, so we had to make all our plans long distance. Thank goodness for email! Michelle was quick to answer all our questions and resolve any situations that arose; before, during and after the wedding.
To sum it all up: The place is gorgeous (inside & out), the food was delicious and plentiful, the service was impeccable, parking was great, everyone was very helpful and the price was more than reasonable. The morning after the event I asked my daughter if there was anything she would have done differently. She said “absolutely nothing – everything was perfect!” Golden Eagle Country Club and staff were a big part of making her feel that way. Thank you for making her special day SO special. We would HIGHLY recommend Golden Eagle to anyone needing a venue for any event.

Hi Michelle, Everything was perfect!! The food was "delicious" (including the hors d'oeuvres-bruschetta was outstanding!). Your staff was incredible. Very accommodating and gave excellent customer service. At times it was a little hectic for me but that is to be expected when you are coordinating the event. So I hope I wasn't a bother to your staff.

"The luncheon was beautiful yesterday. Driving through that part of Tallahassee and seeing all the beautiful old oak trees with the moss hanging like lace, the winding roads and all that color! The Country Club was in a beautiful setting wedged between two lakes, and every room in the clubhouse we peeked in was breathtaking.
We enjoyed the luncheon getting to know new people, the food was delicious and the dessert was a killer! It was so good; I couldn't believe all those flavors in one bite. The chef and baker are to be commended. The service was impeccable. Our server never left us with an empty glass of delicious fresh ice tea, or placing each course down with ease and grace."

Everything about the food and location can be ranked “10” on a scale of 1-10.

This may seem like an odd letter to be receiving, but I have been talking to two friends whose daughters have gotten married this year, one here in Atlanta and the other in Chicago. We went to the one in Chicago….and while it was a much larger affair than ours (300) the reception was held in, what I was told, was a very exclusive club. The room, while being VERY large, had no atmosphere and the affair was very poorly managed.
I think back to Katy’s wedding and how beautiful the Golden Eagle Country Club looked, how wonderful everything was timed (at this last wedding no one even noticed the couple have their dance because it was while everyone was visiting after dinner and it was never announced) and I think back to how you had the father-daughter dance as one of the first things and what a highlight what was with the song, and you had the couples dance early, another highlight, and they both were ‘announced.’ I, also, remember how you made the reception so easy for me by taking care of every detail. And the food!!!! I was able to make a direct comparison with this Chicago wedding since they had the same menu…the filet and salmon…..neither of which had any flavor and were not served with those delicious mashed potatoes and vegetables. We received so many compliments on the food. In fact, we received so many compliments on the entire affair…the food, how pretty the reception room looked, and the gorgeous outdoor setting. Many, many people have told us it was one of the most beautiful weddings because of the uniqueness of the setting.
YOU and your staff and the Golden Eagle Country Club met and exceeded everything we were hoping for. I just wanted to tell you, again, how lovely everything was and how very pleased we were.

The post-Founders Day avalanche of admin requirements has been heavy but I couldn’t let another day slip away without first saying what a wonderful time our society had a Golden Eagle last Friday!
From inception to completion it was a pleasure. You and your staff were there to accommodate us at every turn, in every circumstance. Tables were beautiful, the setting gorgeous, the atmosphere exactly what we had all hoped.
