FdžǃǓǖǂǓǚ 14, 2021 • 6Ǖlj SǖǏDžǂǚ NJǏ OǓDžNJǏǂǓǚ TNJǎdž Notes (♫) from Steve’s Journal If you wish, you can make me clean In today’s gospel passage, a man with leprosy says Jesus. Was it a bold thing for him even to approach Jesus, let alone make this bold statement? It sounds like he’s giving Jesus permission to heal him. The man appears to recognize who Jesus is and what is his mission: to raise up and heal, to reconcile sinners to God, to make us whole, holy, truly human. Without presumption or expectation the man simply says: “if you want to, you can heal me.” What I take from this is that I have to recognize who I am in the Lord’s presence, and it challenges me to say to Jesus, without fear or presumption, “If you will it, if you want to, you can forgive me, heal me, make me whole — love me.” Try saying this to God in simple prayer — “if you wish, you can love me — despite my selfishness, sinfulness, hatred, ugly thoughts or behaviors; with all of my human weakness and neediness: love me, if you will to.” Is it hard to say — to be so “bold” or vulnerable, humble? Why should it be so difficult? The answer we can expect to receive from Jesus — immediately — is the same as Jesus gave to the man with leprosy: “Of course I will it! I do wish to heal you, to make you whole — to love you. I will for you to be fully human just as I am, and to share in my divine love and life.” How does it feel to hear this

Returning to in person Mass: There is no longer a need to RSVP to attend Mass. We appear to be holding at a safe capacity and will evaluate from week to week moving forward. Please continue to be patient with us and one another as we work through the logistics with everyone’s safety in mind.

We keep in mind the health of all with whom we worship. We continue to take precautions. We recognize the risk involved in returning to church.

For those who desire to receive Holy Communion outside of Mass:

· After “attending” mass virtually through FB Live or another live-stream option, drive to church. Communion Ministers will be available in the parking lot at both churches on Sunday, Feb 14, 2021 from 10 - 11am

· There will be a brief and familiar prayerful exchange before and after communion. Please allow for one indi- vidual/family to receive, pray, and walk away before you begin your approach.

Everyone is reminded to adhere to all recommended safety precautions including social distancing and the wearing of masks. Collections baskets will be available for those who wish to bring their weekly contributions in person.
