With their new album heralding a high point in their long career (it’s their seventh), the aptly titled A Bath Full of Ecstasy has a blend Dan Keeling: Do you cook at home? Joe Goddard: I cook all the time. I’ve got a Green of synth melodies, bouncing house basslines Egg barbecue and cook a lot of seafood, as well as buying a lot of nice wines from Bottle Apostle to try and soulful vocals that makes it one of our to pair with it. I’m interested in the weirder side of wine. This Vouette & Sorbée reminds me of a records of the year at Rotter Towers. Imagine delicious sparkling red from near Barcelona that I’ve been drinking recently called La Rosita by Pamela Geddes. It’s dry and fruity: it tastes like sparkling Erasure jamming with Daft Punk, Laid Back and Ribena to me, and I’m into that! Frankie Knuckles in a lift, and you might be Al Doyle: It’s delicious and quite unusual – it almost tastes like Pét-Nat rather than Champagne. -

NZ Music Stats | Q 1 201 1 Report f or the NZ Music Industry Commission 2011 – First Quarter Summary This is the first statistical report of 2011 by Media Sauce Ltd for the NZ Music Industry Commission, designed to track the health of the New Zealand music market. Where possible, we’ve backdated data to the same quarter in 2010 to provide context for the current quarter’s results and allow comparison with quarter just gone as well as the equivalent period 12 months earlier. At A Glance… vs Same Quarter Last Year Retail Sales (Physical and Digital) : Sales of Singles by NZ artists were down -2.31% on the same period last year to 173,531 units. (There was +30.57% growth across the physical and digital singles market as a whole). Sales of Albums by NZ artists were down -9.39% on the same period last year to 62,908 units. (There was +11.08% growth across the albums market as a whole). Sales of Compilations by NZ artists were down -12.93% on the same period last year to 6530 units. (There was +18.40% growth across the compilations market as a whole). Sales of DVDs by NZ artists were up 75.99% on the same period last year to 1950 units. (There was +59.37% growth across the DVD market as a whole). Radio : Airplay of songs by NZ artists across all contemporary radio (RBA members and non-members) was down -1.99% on the same period last year to 19.10 % (215,791 spins ). Cross-Dressing to Backbeats: The Status of the Electroclash Producer and the Politics of Electronic Music Feature Article David Madden Concordia University (Canada) Abstract Addressing the international emergence of electroclash at the turn of the millenium, this article investigates the distinct character of the genre and its related production practices, both in and out of the studio. Electroclash combines the extended pulsing sections of techno, house and other dance musics with the trashier energy of rock and new wave. The genre signals an attempt to reinvigorate dance music with a sense of sexuality, personality and irony. Electroclash also emphasizes, rather than hides, the European, trashy elements of electronic dance music. The coming together of rock and electro is examined vis-à-vis the ongoing changing sociality of music production/ distribution and the changing role of the producer. Numerous women, whether as solo producers, or in the context of collaborative groups, significantly contributed to shaping the aesthetics and production practices of electroclash, an anomaly in the history of popular music and electronic music, where the role of the producer has typically been associated with men. These changes are discussed in relation to the way electroclash producers Peaches, Le Tigre, Chicks on Speed, and Miss Kittin and the Hacker often used a hybrid approach to production that involves the integration of new(er) technologies, such as laptops containing various audio production softwares with older, inexpensive keyboards, microphones, samplers and drum machines to achieve the ironic backbeat laden hybrid electro-rock sound. Jsme poměrně velmi aktivní škola, jejíž jméno je známé i za hranicemi nymburského okresu. Takže akcí a událostí, které Vám chceme připomenout, je mnoho. Nejprve něco málo o jaru, které si z nás trochu dělá legraci. Pár dnů je nádherně a pak zase pěkná zima a doma si topíme Rybáři nám připomenou, že i brzké jaro není důvodem k zahálení a rybářská klání se konají i v dubnu Dáme Vám ochutnat pestrobarevnou kašičku z našich tříd Ukážeme Vám, jak naše třídy z I. stupně jezdí na plavecký výcvik Budeme vyprávět o projektu Jaro v pohybu Naši mladí cestovatelé se vrátili z Londýna a chtějí se s Vámi podělit o své zážitky Jak dopadla naše školní akademie?
