Bangladesh government ministry officials recently participated in a sustainable tour- ism and wildlife workshop to enhance their knowledge and share good practices. Within the framework of the UNWTO/Chimelong Initiative on wildlife and sus- tainable tourism, implemented between 2017 and this year, 30 officials attended the workshop that was held in Dhaka. Particular focus was given to the critically endangered royal bengal tiger, found around one of Bangladesh’s World Heritage sites, The Sundarbans. Additionally, the workshop also included a revision of good practices related to wild- life-based tourism across the Asia Pacific region, which gave participants the opportunity to make recommendations towards fostering the country’s wildlife tourism sector.
