The article examines 170 river names from the basin of the Iskar river – the largest tributary of the Danube in Bulgaria. The origin and significance of river names emerge through the application of traditional onomastic methods – onomastic (etymological) analysis and onomastic reconstruction. Comparative onomastic data from adjacent and more distant regions in Bulgaria and the Balkans are also drawn on. Conclusions about the relative antiquity of the hydronyms are drawn. Its forms are small-scale, low-density, divided into forms practiced in urban (religious, cultural, business) and rural areas. Alternative tourism is an attempt to preserve, protect and improve the quality of the existing resource base, which is fundamental for tourism itself. Alternative tourism is featured by active encouragement and care for the development of additional andspecific attractions as well the infrastructure, which are based on the local resources, while at the same time aiding the latter. Geography of Bulgaria The Republic of Bulgaria covers a territory of 110 993 square kilometres. The average altitude of the country is 470 metres above sea level. The Stara Planina Mountain occupies central position and serves as a natural dividing line from the west to the east. It is a 750 km long mountain range stretching from the Vrushka Chuka Pass to Cape Emine and is part of the Alpine-Himalayan mountain range. It reaches the Black Sea to the east and turns to the north along the Bulgarian-Yugoslavian border. A natural boundary with Romania is the Danube River, which is navigable all along for cargo and passenger vessels. The Black Sea is the natural eastern border of Bulgaria and its coastline is 378 km long. There are clearly cut bays, the biggest two being those of Varna and Bourgas. About 25% of the coastline are covered with sand and hosts our seaside resorts. The southern part of Bulgaria is mainly mountainous. The highest mountain is Rila with Mt. GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS ON PROVISION OF SERVICES AND RULES ON USE OF SKI LIFT SKI RUN MECHI CHAL WITHIN THE SKI AREA OF CHEPELARE (MECHI CHAL) I. SCOPE 1.1. These General Terms and Conditions refer to the provision of services by Pamporovo AD in the ski area of Chepelare (Mechi Chal), related to the sale of tickets and lift passes for the rope-way transporting passengers, the portable tow lift located next to the uphill terminal of PL Mechi Chal, the transportation via the rope-way and the tow lift, settlement of disputes arising from these services, and set out the rules on the use by tourists of the services and facilities in the ski area /ski run and rope-way/, as well as the rules on control of the observance of the order established in the ski area. 1.2. The ski area of Chepelare (Mechi Chal) includes: ski run Mechi Chal (red), with a length of 2.930 km and passenger rope-way - four-seater lift Mechi Chal, the relevant buildings to the rope-ways – lift terminals and other servicing premises, incl. ticket offices for sale of tickets and passes, portable tow lift, the ski routes and tracks, which connect the ski run and the areas of tourist traffic. 1.3. These General Terms and Conditions do not refer to the provision of services and the use of the ski-runs and the service facilities located outside the ski area of Chepelare (Mechi Chal) under clause 1.2., to the use of places not designated as ski runs in the ski area, as well as to the services offered in the commercial areas and the accommodation places and/or the catering establishments within the ski area. -

BOROVETS, Bulgaria History In the 19th century the ruling Prince Ferdinand Saxe-Coburg-Gotha built a hunting lodge at Borovets and was followed by various their wealthy family and friends. Thus was born one of Europe's earliest ski resorts. The modern resort was built in the 1960's to cater for package ski holidays. Location Borovets is the oldest and the biggest mountain resort in Bulgaria clustered in pine forests. Situated at 1350 m above sea level on the northern slopes of Rila Mountain among age-old pine woods, Borovets is located at the foot of peak MOUSSALA (2925 m) - the highest one on Balkan Peninsula. BOROVETS is easily accessible, being at a distance of 73 km from Sofia and 126 km from Plovdiv. The town of Samokov is only 10 km down the road from the resort. Mountain facts Resort elevation: 1,300 m (4,265 ft). Top elevation: 2,543 m (8,343 ft). Base elevation: 1,337 m (4,387 ft). Number of lifts: 14. Number of runs: 20. Beyond the slopes The hunting lodge Bistrista Palace, adorned with woodcarvings (1km/0.6 miles northwest of the Rila Hotel), is the main reminder that Borovets was a royal hunting ground a century ago. Within the resort, a bowling alley at the Samokov Hotel and swimming pools in all the major hotels can be used by non-guests. Horse riding can be arranged, either with or without a guide, from Butch Riding School (on the track from the road between the Rila Hotel and Tyrol bar). The nearby town of Samokov (15 minutes via the hourly minibus) was once the woodcarving capital of the region and has well preserved paintings in its churches. -

The achievement of sustainable development of Bulgarian tourist resorts is questionable after the European Commission has put Bulgaria's two-month ultimatum to prove that it can deal with the problem of dirty air. Tourism is a sector that is accused of violating sustainable development due to its many negative environmental impacts. A significant part of the harmful impact is due to the transport used to reach the desired destination and the movement itself. Sustainable development is a key objective of the EU and Bulgaria should not lag behind in terms of the essential indicators for its achievement. This publication aims to propose effective measures to reduce the harmful impact of passenger transport on the environment by establishing sustainable transport practices in touristic resorts. The environmental component of sustainable development is among its main priorities. Based on expert analysis of Bulgarian touristic resorts, our own research and experience in the studied subject will offer effective measures to increase their sustainability by reducing the harmful impact of transport on the environment. 1 Introduction transport practices in tourist destinations and thus contributing to the sustainable development of tourism. The present study aims at complementing the data about the distribution of the carabids from the tribes Pterostichini, Spho- drini, and Platynini, containing many diverse, interesting, and endemic species. It gives new records for 67 species and 23 zoogeographical regions in Bulgaria. The material was collected in the period from 1926 to 2021 through different sampling methods. Twenty-three species are recorded for the first time in different regions. Six species are reported for the second time in the regions where they were currently collected. Thirty-one species have not been reported for more than 20 years in Eastern and Middle Stara Planina Mts., Kraishte region, Boboshevo-Simitli valley, Sandanski-Petrich valley, Lyulin Mts., Vitosha Mts., Rila Mts., Pirin Mts., Slavyanka Mts., Thracian Lowland, and Sakar-Tundzha re- gion. -
