The reasons being; Insufficient value when addressing a cost benefit analysis of standard / traditional CCTV cameras. Minimal return on significant investment. High ongoing maintenance costs. Limited potential for criminal evidence value. Higher City and Police resourcing costs to manage, obtain footage and check/maintain system. Vast majority of movement is vehicular. Preliminary Review: The City agrees with the consultant that the placement of traditional CCTV within Wattle Grove Cell 9 is not a cost effective or viable solution to reduce crime within the area, and therefore recommends that it is not considered. -

DV18.86 - Att 1 of 3 - Small Business Friendly Charter Local Governments WESTERN AUSTRALIAN SMALL BUSINESS FRIENDLY LOCAL GOVERNMENTS Charter Commitment to this Charter is a requirement for participation in the Small Business Friendly Local Governments (SBFLG) initiative and outlines what the local government agrees to do to support small business in their area. 1. Commitment to small business The local government agrees to: a) recognise that the small business community is an important stakeholder; b) undertake regular and targeted consultation with this group; b) work towards understanding how its local small business community operates, its needs and goals, and the key challenges; c) provide networking and other development opportunities for its local small business community; and d) actively engage, where appropriate, with the Small Business Development Corporation (SBDC) on matters affecting small business. 2. Commitment to customer service The local government agrees to: a) maintain open lines of communication with small businesses through both formal and informal approaches; b) provide clear advice and guidance to small businesses with a focus on assisting them to understand and meet their regulatory obligations, and to work with them to achieve compliance; c) publish a set of clear service standards setting out what small businesses can expect from them; d) consider the needs of local small business owners for whom English is not a first language; and e) publish a link on its website to take small business owners to resources available on the SBDC website, including the Business Licence Finder. 3. Fuel Management Activities in Western Australia Summary of 2019-2020 dfes.wa.gov.au Fuel Management Activities in Western Australia Summary of 2019-2020 | 01 Message from the Executive Director Rural Fire Division I am pleased to present this latest annual summary of fuel management activities undertaken to manage bushfire risk across Western Australia. It is heartening to see that so many organisations managed to overcome the restrictions forced upon us by Covid-19 to continue the important task of managing bushfire risk. Some organisations were forced to change their usual approach, particularly during autumn (or the early dry season in the north), and I acknowledge the good work, innovation and personal sacrifices made by those whom contributed to this. The 2019-2020 Fuel Management Activities report shows a continuation of the trend of more organisations from across Western Australia recognising they have an important role to play in managing bushfire risk. The report again shows that a spirit of collaboration continues to drive positive outcomes for the entire Western Australian community. This year, we have included some case studies in the report that show examples of State Government, local governments and private residents working together to manage fuels. These are only a small sample of the many great stories that we have heard while compiling the report and I hope you find them as inspiring as I have. Thank you to the organisations that have contributed information to this report and congratulations on your commitment to managing bushfire risk. The great work that is being done throughout the State is crucial to enhancing our community’s resilience to bushfire. -

Avon-Midland Country Zone of the WA Local Government Association MINUTES OF THE ZONE MEETING held at the Jurien Bay Education & Conference, 67-69 Bashford Street, Jurien Bay Friday 21 February 2020 commencing at 10:10 am 1 OPENING & WELCOME The Zone President and Chair of the meeting, Cr Ken Seymour, welcomed delegates and observers and introduced Cr Dahlia Richardson, Shire of Dandaragan. Cr Richardson welcomed delegates to Jurien Bay and commented on the arts trail recently opened at Badgingarra – The project was inspired by the Dandaragan Shire 4 Arts Group which envisages an art trail connecting the four towns in the Shire: Badgingarra, Dandaragan, Jurien Bay and Cervantes. The Badgingarra Arts Trail is the first section to be opened and comprises a 4.2 km of walk, cycle trail featuring 18 sculptures by Coomberdale artist Natalie Tonkin and the local community. The trail passes the Badgingarra Cemetery with its ornate entry gates. The trail starts opposite the Badgingarra Community Centre on the corner of North West Road and Brand Highway. Cr Richardson introduced the Shire CEO, Mr Brent Bailey, who gave a brief overview of the Shire statistics and commented on – The Shire is the renewable capital of the State with significant solar and wind power generation projects. However, the local district is still impacted by power constraints. The district experienced a 27% growth in tourism over the last 10 years. Iconic industries in the district include Tronox Limited, Iluka Resources, Indian Ocean Rock Lobster (Lobster Shack), Jurien Skydive, Harvest Road (Koojan beef facility in the Shires of Dandaragan, Moora and Victoria Plains), Moora Citrus and AgriFresh. -

Recovery and Resilience Grant Program EOI Form Preview Recovery and Resilience Grant - Expression of Interest * indicates a required field The Recovery and Resilience Grant will provide reimbursement of up to $20,000 to eligible owners of insured residential properties that were damaged by the cyclone to improve the resilience of residential properties against future disaster events. The following expression of interest is intended to gauge the level of interest in the impacted communities for the Recovery and Resilience Grant Program. This is not an application for grant assistance. Property owners who are under-insured and require assistance for cyclone debris clean-up and rebuild activities, rather than resilience activities, should advise in the comments field below. Once further information is available, including eligibility criteria and how to apply, a Recovery and Resilience Officer will be in contact with you. Recovery and Resilience Officers can be reached at [email protected]. This assistance is being provided through the jointly funded Commonwealth-State Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA).
