AUD Announces Admissions to its Karampura campus in 2016-17

A multi-campus University The vision of AUD, a city University, established by the Government of NCT of , is to cater to the aspirations of Delhi’s youth. A University with a unitary structure, our vision is to become a multi-campus University with facilities across the city. Till now it has been operating from its campus in Kashmere Gate where 40 undergraduate, postgraduate and research programmes are currently on offer.

The Directorate of Higher Education, Government of the NCT of Delhi is in the process of handing over the old campus of Deen Dayal Upadhyay (DDU) College of Delhi University in Karampura (West Delhi) to AUD. DDU College will move to its new campus in Dwarka.

Admissions in Karampura Campus in 2016-17 AUD proposes to offer four undergraduate programmes in the Karampura campus starting from academic session of 2016-17. This is subject to the campus being made available in time to AUD.

The programmes to be offered at AUD’s Karampura campus are:

1. BA (Honours) in Economics 2. BA (Honours) in English 3. BA (Honours) in Psychology 4. BA (Honours) in Social Science and Humanities

At the Karampura campus intake for each BA programme is 50 with the total number of seats available being 200.

These four programmes are currently also offered in the Kashmere Gate campus.

Separate merit lists will be prepared for both campuses in each of the above programmes. The merit list will be based on preferences for campus provided by each applicant. Each applicant should mention both preferences (1 & 2) for the two campus for each of these four programme they apply to. Application forms without campus preference will not be accepted.

Programme and Course Structure: The programme and course structure (syllabus) will be the same in both the campuses with only some minor changes in the list of electives.

Teachers AUD has a single pool of teachers. Teachers for both the campuses will be drawn from that pool. AUD already has a policy of concurrent appointments of teachers. The same set of teachers, teach both postgraduate and undergraduate courses in various Schools.

Facilities The Karampura campus will have all the facilities that the Kashmere Gate campus has – technology enabled classrooms with climate control, well-stocked library, computer labs, student activity area, playgrounds, and cafeteria.

Future Plans: More undergraduate and postgraduate programmes will be launched in the Karampura campus from 2017-18 onwards. It is expected to accommodate approximately 2200 students by 2019.

Two new campuses in Rohini (Sector 3) and Dheerpur (Near Model Town and Mukherjee Nagar) will be ready by 2020.

Reaching AUDs Karampura Campus The AUD Campus in Karampura is 1.3 Kms from the Kirti Nagar Metro Station (on the Blue and of ), less than a kilometre from the Moti Nagar Metro Station (on the ), and about 3 kms from the ().
