Remastertes Album Erscheint Gleichzeitig Auf 180G-Vinyl VÖ: 10 im Auftrag: medienAgentur Stefan Michel T 040-5149 1467 F 040-5149 1465 [email protected] R.E.M.: 25 Jahre Green Jubiläums-Edition des Major-Durchbruchs Original-Album und Live-Disc von der vorletzten Show der großen Welt-Tournee 1989. Remastertes Album erscheint gleichzeitig auf 180g-Vinyl VÖ: 10. Mai Green war ihr Durchbruch, ihre sechstes Album und ihr erstes für Warner Bros., wo sie bis zu ihrer Auflösung im September 2011 ihr Label-Zuhause hatten. Mit Orange Crush, Pop Song 89 und Stand an Bord, wurde Green zum ersten weltweit erfolgreichen R.E.M.-Album, dem 1989 die große Green Tour folgte. Das Album erreichte in kürzester Zeit US-Doppelplatin und verdoppelte die Verkäufe der vorangegangenen Alben. Gleichzeitig war Green ein Statement der Band zum sozialen Bewusstsein und der Umweltproblematik, wie schon der Titel des Albums zeigt, der zu einem Schlüsselwort für Umweltinitiativen wurde. Um das 25. Jubiläum des Meilensteins der Musik- und Bandgeschichte gebührend zu feiern, veröffentlichen Rhino Records am 10. Mai eine Doppel-CD-Deluxe-Edition, die das Originalalbum plus einer Live-CD vom vorletzten Konzert der 130 Dates umfassenden Green World Tour 1989 enthält. Alle 21 Songs der Live-CD wurden am 10. November 1989 in Greensboro, North Carolina, aufgenommen, nur wenige Meilen entfernt von Mitch Easter’s Drive- In-Studio in Winston-Salem, wo Michael Stipe, Peter Buck, Mike Mills und Bill Berry ihre allerersten Recording- Sessions abhielten. Das Konzert in Greensboro war ein aufgeheizter Gig, den R.E.M. - nach fast einem Jahr auf Tour. Die Band spielte fast alle Songs von Green (u.a. Get Up, World Leader Pretend und You Are The Everything), Songs, die sie mit frühen Favoriten wie Fall On Me, Finest Worksong, The One I Love und Perfect Circle vom 1983er Album Murmur mischten. Zudem unterzogen sie einige neue Songs (Low und Belong) einem Live-Test, die erst zwei Jahre später auf dem Green-Follow-Up Out Of Time erschienen. Ähnlich wie vorhergegangene R.E.M.-Reissues, wird das Jubiläums-Set von Green in einer stabilen Clamshell Box ausgeliefert. Zum Umfang der Edition gehören zudem vier Postkarten und ein Poster sowie aufschlussreiche Liner- Notes von Uncut-Herausgeber Allan Jones. Die Green: 25th Anniversary Deluxe Edition erscheint als physische 2- CD-Version und in digitaler Form zum Download. Am gleichen Tag erscheint die 180g schwere Vinyl-Version mit originalem Artwork und Verpackung. After digging deeper and deeper into this musical genre over the years, I began to attend shows and became heavily involved in the Texas Hard- for the discerning dirtbag. core scene. The typical behavior at these shows can be expressed by outsiders as nothing other than sheer buffoonery. Making violent motions across the stage and dance floor into band members and bystanders is an expected reaction to this aggressive music. More often than not, the suburban Editorial bored youth in attendance at these hardcore shows, who carry very few burdens in life outside of doing homework and finishing their vegetables, will cause damage to themselves, others, and property as a result of ―stage- Kelly Minnis—Atarimatt—Niki Pistols diving‖ and ―hard-moshing‖, or ―floor punching‖ as Atarimatt puts it. In this spirit of fabricated frustration at punk and hardcore shows, I have often found myself causing damage of all sorts.
