Likely to date from the late 17th or early 18th Century, the house is grade C listed and constructed from stone under a pitched slate roof. A passage leads to a shower room and onto the main reception all with stairs to the first floor. DIRECTIONS From Elgin head south on the A941, crossing over the railway line, at the next roundabout turn left (first exit) onto Linkwood Road and continue for about half a mile before turning left at the next roundabout (first exit) onto Reiket Lane. Take the next available right turn onto Linkwood Road and continue past the Linkwood Distillery, Moray Sports Centre and out of Elgin. Continue for about 1¾ miles before turning right at the T junction. Continue towards the small hamlet of Clackmarras and after about ¾ mile, turn left on to a private track on entering the hamlet. Continue through Greenhead farm and up the track where Thornhill is located in an elevated position after about 700m. (see site and location plans for details).
