DOCUMENT OPTIONS FOR AB 60 DRIVER’S LICENSES as approved on June 22, 2015 The following identity documents listed have been approved to be used at DMV fields as part of the AB 60 application. There are two options for providing identity documents – for 1) you can provide one approved electronically verifiable document or 2) you can provide two documents, one of which is electronically verifiable. At the end is a list of approved foreign passports; if your country is not listed it does not mean you are ineligible for an AB 60 license, instead you can proceed with your application through Secondary Review. In addition to these documents, you also need to provide California residency documents. ONE (1) DOCUMENT If you’re from Mexico: . Mexican Federal Electoral Card (Institutio Federal Electoral (IFE) Credencial para Votar) issued in 2013 . Mexican Passport issued in 2008 or later . Mexican Consular Card (Matricula Consular) issued in 2006 or 2014 Foreign Passport from “Table 1: List of Approved Passports” AND if you also have a Social Security Number account that is electronically verifiable with the Social Security Administration. If you got a California Driver’s License or ID sometime after the year 2000: . California Driver’s License issued in or after October 2000 . Chilean Passport issued on or after 2013 1 One of the major difference in the new regulations is in the Two Documents table (for primary documents), which removed Foreign Birth Certificates as an eligible primary document. The birth certificates were removed due to the confusion about Apostille certifications and translation requirements. However, you can still use birth certificates for the Secondary Review process!
