GAME NOTES

Last Time Out: Villanova last played on Friday, Sept. 26 at Rutgers...The ‘Cats evened their BIG EAST record at 1-1 while improv- ing to 5-4 overall with the 3-2 victory...’Nova dominated the match-up in terms of shots and penalty corners, but had to hang on for the win...Freshman goalkeeper Erin Scott made a highlight reel diving stop of a penalty stroke mid-way through the second-half to preserve the ‘Cats’ one-goal advantage...The game-winner was netted by Sarah Francis, on an assist by Colleen Helms.

Lisausky Leads the Way: Senior forward Leah Lisausky (Morrisville, Pa./Pennsbury) had her best outing of the 2003 season on Friday night against Rutgers...Lisausky outshot the entire Rutgers team, 10-8, on her way to a two-goal performance...Lisausky is now second on the team with four goals...Her career total stands at 27, making her the team’s active leader.

City Six Resumes: The Wildcats return to action in the City Six, made up of Drexel, La Salle, Pennsylvania, St. Joseph’s, Temple and Villanova. In their first match-up of the season against a Philadelphia-area rival, Villanova defeated Drexel, 3-2...Following tonight’s game, the ‘Cats play another local rival, St. Joseph’s, on Saturday, Oct. 4 at 11:00 a.m. at Villanova Stadium...The Quakers are 2-0 in City Six action thi s season, with wins over St. Joseph’s and La Salle.

Nighty Night: Villanova will try to extend its 2003 record to 4-0 in night games tonight...The ‘Cats have notched wins over Lafayette, West Chester and Rutgers under the lights this season...Villanova has three night games remaining on the schedule after tonight, against Syracuse (Oct. 10), Monmouth (Oct. 15) and Penn St. (Oct. 29).

Two in a Row?: Despite the ‘Cats 5-4 record, the Wildcats have had trouble putting together winning streaks this season. The only time Villanova has won two game in a row this season was on Aug. 31 and Sept. 3, against Stanford and Lafayette. The other two times the ‘Cats played following a victory, they suffered a defeat.

Scouting the Opposition: Pennsylvania Quakers - Penn comes into tonight’s contest with a 3-4 overall record, 1-1 in the Ivy League...The Quakers defeated La Salle, 3-1, in their last outing on Sept. 27...Pennsylvania leads the all-time series over Villanova, 10-6-2...The Wildcats won last year’s meeting, 3-2 at Villanova Stadium...The last Penn win in the series came back in 1999, a 4-2 victory at Franklin Field...Tonight’s game marks the second in a string of four in a row at home for Penn...Junior forward Liz Lorelli (Greenwich, Conn./Greenwich Academy) is the Quakers’ biggest offensive threat - she leads the team with seven goals and 15 points...Goalkeeper Amanda Jacobs has allowed just 1.30 goals per game this season.
