Julie Young Head Coach | 8th Season

Julie Young enters her eighth season at the helm of Villanova women’s lacrosse in 2019. Young started her career as head coach of the Wild- cats in 2012.

At the end of the 2018 season, Young and her team had recorded an overall record of 9–7 and finished fifth in the BIG EAST with a confer- ence record of 4-5. Her sophomore attacker, Katie Comerford earned a spot on the All-BIG EAST Second Team while senior Devin Hassinger set a single season record for draw controls with 83. Hassinger broke the previous record of 76, set by Jackie Froccaro in 2015.

In 2017, Young had coached her first BIG EAST Freshman of the Year in Comerford. The attacker became the first ever Villanova player to win BIG EAST Freshman of the Year after finishing the season as the top-scoring freshman in the conference with 40 goals, 16 assists and 56 points. She led the Wildcats in all three categories. Her 2.78 goals per game was third best in the conference, while her 3.89 points per game average ranked fifth.

The 2016 campaign saw grad student Jackie Froccaro conclude her illustrious Wildcat career as the second all-time leading scorer in program history, finishing her career with 130 goals and 24 assists for a total of 154 points. The grad student also finished her career ranked second all-time in draw controls with 138, tallying a season high 76 during her junior year.

The Wildcats defeated their first ranked team in program history in the 2016 season, taking down #19 Delaware 11-9 at Villanova Stadium. The Blue Hens were previously undefeated on the road.

The 2015 season saw many firsts for the program; the team qualified for the BIG EAST Tournament, senior Froccaro was named BIG EAST Attacker of the Year, and four players were named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll.

It was a strong 12-10 victory over fellow BIG EAST team Vanderbilt in the regular season that gave the Wildcats their playoff spot. With two late goals, the first with 4:35 and the last with 0:04; both scored by Mucci and assisted by Froccaro that gave the Wildcats the lead and the win. This win guar- anteed the Wildcat’s the No. 4 seed in the BIG EAST Tournament.

From 2014 to 2015, Villanova posted a winning record. In 2015, the Wildcats finished 9-7 and 4-3 in the BIG EAST. Their nine-win season was the most wins since 2002.

2015 graduate Jessica Mucci, grabbed the all-time career assist record with 102. Mucci also grabbed the single-season assists record with 39 during her sophomore year in 2013.

Young has coached multiple BIG EAST first and second team members as head coach of the Wildcats. She has also mentored teams that have succeeded in the classroom, earning the IWLCA Team Aca- demic Award and many individual IWLCA academic awards.

Prior to arriving to Villanova, Young was an assistant coach at the University of starting in 2003, while also playing on the USA Women’s Lacrosse National Team from 2001-2004.

During her six years at Penn, Young assisted head coach Karin Brower and helped the team to five consecutive winning seasons. During the 2007 season the team made it to the semifinals and in 2008 the national championship game in the NCAA Tournament. Young coached seven All-Americans during her time at Penn and helped coach the team to back-to-back undefeated seasons in the Ivy League.

In 2008, Young took her first head coaching position at , after her first season she was named Coach of the Year (2009). The following two seasons she led the team to the program’s first conference tournament. In 2010, the team set the highest single season win total in program history with 13. During the 2011 season one of Young’s players was named to the IWLCA All-American team for the first time in 11 years.

Personal Young went to Princeton where she earned a B.A. in psychology while being a two-sport athlete; play- ing both soccer and lacrosse.

A two-time Tigers soccer captain, three-time MVP, four-time All-Ivy selection and three time Mid-At- lantic Regional All America, Young was named the C. Otto von Kienbusch Award winner during her senior year. This is awarded annually to a Princeton senior woman of high scholastic rank who has demonstrated general proficiency in athletics and the qualities of a true sportswoman.

During her four years on the lacrosse team, the Tigers made two appearances in the NCAA Tourna- ment, in 2000 playing in the national championship game and in 2001 the national semifinals game.

She was a three-time IWLCA All America, four-time All-Ivy selection winner, and named Ivy League Rookie of the Year. During her senior year, she was named a top five finalist for the Tewaaraton Award, which is annually awarded to the most outstanding American player.

Young is also the founder of Philly Blast Lacrosse Club.

Julie and her husband Mike have four children, Kelsey, Sydney, Graham and Payton. The Young’s reside in Berwyn, Pa. Jackie Cifarelli Assistant Coach | 2nd Season

Jackie Cifarelli enters her second season as an Assistant Coach of the Villanova Women's Lacrosse team in 2019. A 2015 graduate from the Ohio State University, Cifarelli was a standout player in her time playing collegiate lacrosse.

The Rockville Centre, N.Y. native set the school record for as- sists and also finished second all-time in points. Her 179 as- sists places her at third best in NCAA Division-I history.

Other awards that Cifarelli collected during her time in Columbus, Ohio include a three-time Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coach- es' Association Regional All-American selection and a two-time American Lacrosse Conference All-Conference Team selection. She was also a two-time nominee for the Tewaaraton Award, which is given to the most outstanding men's and women's NCAA Lacrosse players each year.

When Ohio State moved to the Big Ten, Cifarelli was honored to the inaugural 2015 All- Big Ten Conference team and the 2015 All-Big Ten Tournament team. Her Ohio State Buckeyes teams reached the NCAA Tournament in both her junior and senior seasons.

Her junior season she started in all 20 games for the Buckeyes. She tallied a team high in both assists with 46 and points with 63. She also added 17 goals. In her senior campaign she led Ohio State in assists and points again with 54 and 72, respectively and added 18 goals to her totals.

Following graduation, she began her coaching career joining 's staff in 2015. In her first season as an assistant coach, Cifarelli helped the Dragons to a 10-7 record and a trip to the CAA Tournament. She specialized in offensive gameplanning, helping the Dragons increase their goals per game, assists per game and draw controls per game in her two years as an assis- tant. She also played a key role in helping two Drexel players reach First Team All-CAA seletions.

She graduated the Ohio State University with a degree in sociology. In 2014, she earned the Student Athlete Academic Achievement Award from the University.

Halle Majorana Assistant Coach | 2nd Season

Halle Majorana enters her second season as an Assis- tant Coach of the Villanova Women's Lacrosse team in 2019. Graduating from Syracuse University in 2016, Ma- jorana had a very successful collegiate lacrosse career.

After starting her playing career at the University of Maryland, she transferred to Syracuse University where she excelled. In her first year with the program, she played a key role in a team that won the 2015 Atlantic Coast Conference Championship and made it to the NCAA Tournament Semi-Finals. Her performance that season earned her All-ACC Tournament team, First Team All-ACC and First Team All-Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches' Association All-American honors.

In 2016, Majorana was nominated on the Tewaaraton Award Watch List, given to the most out- standing men's and women's lacrosse players every year. Her success on the field earned her All-Northeast Region First Team, First Team All-ACC and Second Team IWLCA All-American. The Orange returned to the NCAA Tournament Semi-Finals in her senior campaign as well.

Her junior season she started in all 24 games for Syracuse. She was second on the team in goals with 55 and first on the team in assists with 36, tying for a team-high 91 points on the season. In her se- nior season she scored 45 goals and had 34 assists for a total of 79 points, second most on the team.

Following graduation, Majorana continued her playing career as a member of the semi-professional Long Island Sound. She helped lead the Sound to the Inaugu- ral United Women's Lacrosse League Championship. Along with playing semi-profes- sionally, Majorana also worked as a volunteer coach on the Syracuse coaching staff. She worked specifically with offensive game planning and player development, but also worked with their social media and helped organize and run camps and clinics.

She graduated Syracuse University with a degree in Child Family Studies. She was a three year member of the All-ACC Academic team from 2014-2016.

Kate Goldstein Assistant Coach | 2nd Season

Goldstein joined the Villanova Women's Lacrosse program for the 2018 season as a volunteer assistant coach, specializing in coaching the goalkeepers and defense. Goldstein returns for the 2019 season as the goalie director, and co-defensive coordinator with Head Coach Julie Young.

Previously, she was a graduate assistant at Georgetown from 2015-2017, receiving her Master's Degree in sporting manage- ment. She was a part of the coaching staff that helped the Hoyas to their 2015 BIG EAST regular season Co-Championship with a 6-1 conference record.

Goldstein is also a former goalkeeper of the Israeli National Team and a current assistant coach for the Israeli National Team. As the defensive coordinator for the 2017 World Cup team, she helped Israel to a sixth place finish in the World, where they knocked Wales out of the top five for the first time ever.

She was a four-year letter winner at McDaniel College, starting three years in net. Goldstein graduated in May 2014 with a bachelor's degree in business administration and management as well as a minor in sports administration.

JULIA ARRIX #22 | DEFENSE

2018: Appeared in all 16 games for the Wildcats and made eight starts. Arrix collected 13 ground balls, caused five turnovers and earned one draw control.

2017: Did not see action this season.

2016: Logged minutes against Marquette (4/2) and Cincinnati (4/9)… Recorded a ground ball and caused turnover against the Bearcats.

Darien: Three year Varsity member under head coach Lisa Lindley. 2015 First Team All County and First Team All State. Fairfield County Champions 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015. CT State Champions 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015. Was a member of CT Grizzlies lacrosse club. 4 year varsity member of the Girls . All County 2014 and 2015 for Ice Hockey. 2015 Ice Hockey Captain.

Personal: From Darien CT, Daughter of Bob and Margaret Arrix. Has a twin brother Rob- by, who plays lacrosse at Hamilton College. Has a younger sister Catherine. Father, Bob is a Villanova graduate.

DEVON BROWN #35 | ATTACK

2018: Brown appeared in 15 games for the Wildcats during her junior year. She scored 10 goals for the season and dished out eight assists. In the teams 20-4 win over Butler (4/18) Brown scored a season high three goals and recorded two assists. She also collected five ground balls and caused five turnovers.

2017: Competed in 14 games for the Wildcats. She scored nine goals and dished out 15 assists for 24 points on the season. Brown collected six ground balls and recorded two draw controls.

2016: Appeared in six games… Registered three goals, with all of them coming in a hat trick performance against Bucknell (2/27)… Tallied a ground ball against the Bison, High Point (3/2), and Marquette (4/2).

Ridge: 4 year varsity starter in both lacrosse & field hockey, US Lacrosse Academic All Amer- ican 2014 & 15 Leader on Ridge High School team with 3 conference championships, 3 county championships, & Group 4 North Championship 2014, and Group 4 Semi Finalist 2015, Cou- rier News all area team, 2014 and 2015, 1st team All-Conference, 2014 and 2015, 2nd team All State NJ, 2014 and 2015.

OLIVIA GONSALVES #30 | GOALKEEPER

2018: Appeared in seven contests and made four starts while in goal for the Wildcats during her junior year. She recorded a total of 40 saves on 103 shots faced and she ended the season with a .488 save percent- age. In the team's 14-8 loss against Denver (4/13) she recorded a sea- son high 14 saves.

2017: Saw action in the net during six games and played a total of 131 minutes. She recorded a total of 14 saves.

2016: Made appearances against Albany (3/13) and Marquette (4/2)… Combined for six saves and a .500 save percentage in 22 minutes of action.

Ward Melville: Started all 16 league games and both non-league games during her senior season, was co-captain, and finished her senior year with a 72% clear success, 9 ground balls, and 146 saves. Was on the Varsity Field Hockey team for two years and was pulled up to the Varsity Lacrosse team as a sophomore during the post season. Sophomore year was a Brine Lacrosse All-American. Senior year appeared in the Newsday paper for stellar performance against division 1 rival Smithtown West. Member of the Italian Honor Society for exceptional grades, received the Excellence in Regents Histo- ry award for her exemplary grades and leadership in the classroom and received The Long Island Met- ropolitan Foundation Unsung Hero Award and All-Tournament award by The Suffolk County Coach- es Association and was awarded the Leadership, Spirit, and Cooperation award from her High School Athletic Department during her senior year. Also was a four time recipient of the NYSPHSAA scholar athlete award. Rejoin- ing Ward Melville Alumni Sam Scarfogliero who is currently a Junior on the Villanova lacrosse team.

Personal: Birthday is Novem- ber 29th, 1997. From Stony Brook, New York. Parents are Arthur and Theresa Gonsalves, has one brother, Nicholas, and two sisters, Diana and Sophia. Enrolled in the Villanova College of Engineering. Decided to come to Villanova for its great academ- ic and athletic reputation as well as the incredible coaching staff. 16 SENIORS

CHRISTINE GRAZIANO #6 | ATTACK

2018: Graziano appeared in 10 games for the Wildcats. She scored a total of three goals and collected three ground balls. Two of her goals game in the team's 13-12 victory over UConn (4/4). Her third goal came against Florida (4/8).

2017: Saw action in eight games, scored five goals and collected three ground balls.

2016: Appeared in 11 games… Scored a goal against Saint Joseph’s (3/23) and tallied an assist against Bucknell (2/27)… Scooped up three ground balls… Caused a turnover against Navy (2/24).

West Morris Mendham: A four year member of the lacrosse team, 3 year starter. Totaled 200 points in career. Re-joining former High School teammate and current Wild Cat junior Mariah Salerno, as well as Freshman classmate Carlye Maita on the playing field. DEVIN HASSINGER #9 | MIDFIELD

2018: Started in all 16 games for the Wildcats. Hassinger contrib- uted 11 goals and nine assists on the year for a total of 20 points. She collected a total of 18 ground balls and caused 16 turnovers. Hassinger also led the team with 83 draw controls which set the new single season record. She recorded two goals a piece in the games against RU (3/13), UConn (4/4) and Temple (4/21).

2017: Appeared in 12 games for the Wildcats and scored one goal. Hassinger collected 12 ground balls, caused three turnovers and earned two draw controls.

2016: Made the starting lineup in all 17 games… Scored seven goals and tallied three assists on for 10 total points… Registered a goal and an assist against Bucknell (2/27) and Saint Joseph’s (3/23)…Ranked third on the team with 20 draw controls… Caused two turnovers against Rut- gers (2/12) en route to cause a total of eight on the season.

2018: As a junior, Lee appeared in 10 games for the Wildcats. She collected two ground balls, caused one turnover and record- ed one draw control.

2017: Saw action in four games during her sophomore season.

2016: Attended and was a member of the Blue Hen’s women’s lacrosse team.

High School: At Syosset High School she was a five year varsity letter winner in lacrosse. She was a two-year captain and earned All-County honors. In 2015 Concannon earned the Syosset Heart and Hustle Award and in 2017 she won the Nassau County Sports- manship Award.

Personal: She is the daughter of Alex and Gloria Concannon. She also has a brother named Alex and a sister named named Casey. He brother Alex, is also a lacrosse player at Johns Hopkins. When asked why she chose to attend Villanova she said it was be- cause of the strong reputation of academics and athletics that Villanova represents.

Springside Chesnut Hill Academy: Ferry was a three-sport athlete in high school. She competed on the soccer, squash and lacrosse team where she was named captain for each sport. She received the Tri-Varsity Ath- lete Award four times, the Phyllis M Vare Sportsman- ship Award, who is given to a senior who through lead- ership and example, has shown to others the highest standards of sportsmanship and play. Ferry was also awarded the Blue/Gold Award in 2017. In lacrosse she was named to the Second Team All Inter-Ac League two times and ended her career with 130 goals. As a soccer player she placed second in the PAISAA Tournament. She was also named to the Second Team All-Inter- Ac League for squash four times and her team placed 7/8 in the 2017 HS Nation- al Championships out of more than 64 teams.

Personal: Ferry is the daughter of Rosalie Hunter, has four siblings, Hunter Ferry, Jack Grasso, Sam Grasso and Alex Grasso. Her mother played lacrosse for Ohio Wesleyan. High School: At Winter Park High School, Williams was the leading scorer on her lacrosse team in 2016 and 2017. Episcopal Academy: Christos participated in lacrosse, winter track and tennis at Episcopal. During her time there she received a U.S. Lacrosse Academic All-American award and a First Team All-Southeastern Pa. award in 2018, and an All-Maine-Line award in 2017-18. Christos was also the captain of the lacrosse team her senior year and received the Episcopal Academy Team of 1983 Girls Lacrosse Award. In 2017 she received the John A. Personal: Christos was born on June 14, 2000 and is the daughter of Nick and Steph- anie Christos and has a brother named Nicholas. Her hobbies include community ser- vice and playing tennis. Christos chose Villanova because the school has an amazing community atmosphere, a beautiful campus and a lot of school-spirit.

HANNA DRISCOLL #23 | MIDFIELD

Morris Catholic: At Morris Catholic, Driscoll was a 4 year Var- sity Letter winner in lacrosse and soccer, and earned 2 Varsity Letters in basketball. Hanna served as a 2 year captain for her lacrosse team where she earned First Team All-Conference and All-Academic Team in 2016. In 2017 she earned Third Team All-County and Second Team All-Conference, and in 2018 she earned Second Team All-Conference and Honorable Mention All-County. Driscoll was also a NJ.com Conference Player of the Week and on the NJ.com Midfielders to Watch list in 2018. In 2015 she was a Brine All-American and Brine All-Star Team se- lection. She was also selected to the WDNT School Girls North Jersey Team-Champions. She ended her lacrosse career netting 109 goals and dishing 71 as- sists. Driscoll was captain of her soccer team as a defender where she earned Second Team All-Conference and All-Academic Team and her team were 2016 State Champions. While on the basketball team she was a County Champion in 2015 and 2016.

She was an Honor Roll student all four years and in the National Honor Society and Science National Honor Society Junior and Senior year. In her Senior year she also received the Out- standing Academic Excellence Silver Award, Rotary Club Scholarship Award and Coach Pat- rick Russo Memorial Fund Scholarship Award.

Personal: Driscoll is the daughter of Denis and Jessica and she has a sister Haley who plays alongside her on the VU lacrosse team, and a sister Chloe. Her mother Jessica played soccer at Lynchburg College and her cousin Timothy played attack for the Villanova Men's Lacrosse team from 2006-2009. Driscoll enjoys going to the beach and hanging out with her friends. She chose to attend Villanova because she knew she could get an outstanding education while also playing the sport she loves.

Summit High School: Driscoll was a three year varsity letter winner for cross country and two year letter winner for lacrosse. As a member of the cross country team she received the Hilltopper Coaches award in 2017, first team All-Conference and All-Union County award in 2016. She also received the Hilltopper coaches award for lacrosse in 2015. Academically, Driscoll was an AP Scholar with dis- tinction and a National Merit Commended Scholar both in 2018.

Personal: Driscoll is the daughter of Chris and MaryBeth Driscoll. She has three younger siblings, Brendan, Kayleigh and Delaney. Her cousin Tim played lacrosse at Villanova from 2006-2009. Driscoll chose to attend Villanova because of its excellent academics and athletics and to continue a family tradition.

C. Milton Wright High School: During her time at C. Milton Wright, Frank participated on the soccer, basketball and lacrosse team. While on the soccer team she received the Unsung Hero award, Defensive Player of the Year twice, was an All-County se- lection and team captain. During her basketball career she was team captain for two years and a two time All-County selection. She was also a county, regional and state semi-finalist senior year. In lacrosse she received two defensive player of the year awards, two All-County selections, All-Metro and All-Conference UCBAC awards. On top of being team captain again for two years, she was also a Regional Champion and State Finalist.

Frank also had many academic accolades. She made it on the distinguished Honor Roll all four years of high school, received the Minds in Motion Award four times and was on the Na- tional Honor Society, French Honor Society and Science Honor Society three years in a row. Frank was also apart of Student Government and the Class Secretary three straight years.

Personal: Frank was born on January 19, 2000, is the daughter of Michael and Linda Frank and has a sister named Courtney. Her father played one year of football at Penn State Uni- versity and ran track for three years. Her mother was also an athlete who played one year of basketball and two years of soccer during her time at Loyola University. In her free time she enjoys outdoor activities, running, listening to music and spending time with her dog. Frank chose Villanova because of its high academic reputation, friendly community and amazing school spirit.

Fairfield Warde High School: Four year letter win- ner in volleyball, basketball and lacrosse. McKenna was an All-FCIAC Honorable Mention and Second Team All-FCI- AC recipient for volleyball. In lacrosse she was a two-time First Team All-State and First Team All-FCIAC winner, a two-time U.S. Lacrosse All-American, and a Second Team All-FCIAC recipient. During her time at Fairfield Warde she scored 142 career goals and left as the all time leader for ca- reer assists with 94.

Personal: McKenna was born May 3, 2000 in Bridgeport, Conn. She is the daughter of Mark and Carolyn McKenna. Mark played lacrosse at and Car- olyn played at Le Moyne. McKenna is the sister to Kaitlin, Brooke and Jack. She chose Villanova beacsue of the challenging academics and the amazing athletic programs she is fortunate enough to participate in.

Staples High School: At Staples, Moro competed in field hockey where she was a midfielder, earned three varsity let- ters and was a two-time State Champion and lacrosse where she earned four varsity letters. As a lacrosse player she earned many different honors. In 2018 she was an All-American, an All-State selection, an All-County selection and was awarded the Jinny Parker Award. In 2017 she was an All-County se- lection, won the Staples P.R.I.D.E Award, and was in the US Lacrosse Women's National Tournament for Connecticut. Moro was also the team captain of her lacrosse team in 2017 and 2018 and was a finalist for HLA Most Outstanding Player Award. On her field hock- ey team, she was a two-time State Champion and a three-year recipient of the Coach's Award. Academically, she was on the National Honor Society, the National Italian Hon- or Society, was an AP Scholar, was a two-time recipient of the National Italian Exam Honor Mention and was given the Seal of Biliteracy.

Personal: Moro is the daughter of Matthew and Antoinette, and has a brother Nich- olas and a brother Dean. Her father Matthew player on the Cornell lacrosse team. In her free time she enjoys hiking, kayaking and doing yoga. She chose to attend Villanova because of the excellent academics and school spirit.

ELIZABTH PAWLAK #21 | DEFENSE

St. Anthony's High School: While attending St. Antho- ny's Pawlak competed on the tennis team and lacrosse team where she earned four varsity letters in tennis and two in lacrosse. She also earned All-League, All-Academic, and All-Conference honors. Pawlak was on the Fab 40 All-Star team and was an Inside Lacrosse Women's Invitational All- Star. Outside of St. Anthony's she also competed on the Team Elevate team and was awarded Defensive Player of the Year in 2015 and 2017. Pawlak also received academic honors that included, the St. Bonaventure Award, academic high honors consecutively from 2015-2018 and also had a 4.0 GPA all four years of high school.

Personal: Pawlak is the daughter of Bobby and Claire and has an older sister, Laura and younger sister Abby. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her friends, reading, listening to music, ,playing tennis, skiing, going to concerts and the beach, and watching professional sports, particularly the Rangers. Pawlak chose to attend Vil- lanova because of its academic excellence, sense of community, competitive athletics and the lacrosse family. She also loved the coaching staff and could see herself growing as a player at Nova.

CAROLINE PHELPS #5 | MIDFIELD

The Rivers School: At The Rivers School Phelps competed on the cross country team and lacrosse team. In cross coun- try she earned three varsity letters but could not run senior year due to an injury, and in lacrosse she earned four varsity letters. For lacrosse she earned All-League Honor Mention in 2015, All-League ISL First Team in 2016-2018, was a US All-American and also won the Coach's Award in 2017 and 2018. In cross country she was an All-League and All-ISL se- lection in 2015 and 2016 and in 2015 she was an All-New En- gland selection. She ended her lacrosse career with a school record of 211 goals and ranked second in the league. Phelps also participated on the Lower New England team at national tournament from 2016-2018 and her team were National Champions in 2017.

Personal: Phelps is the daughter of Jack and Colleen and has a 16 year old brother named Michael. Her father played football at Holy Cross as the quarterback and punt- er from 1985-1889. In her free time she enjoys spending time with family and friends, working in Chatham Cape Cod during the summers and going to the beach. Villanova was everything Phelps was looking for in a school. She chose VU because of the chal- lenging academics, the competitive lacrosse program on the rise, the small school en- vironment and location and the strong, committed and winning coaching staff that can help her reach her potential on and off the field.

OLIVIA PICCIRILLI #26 | ATTACK

Archbishop Spalding High School: At Archbishop Spalding, Piccirrilli was part of the National Honor Society during her junior and senior year, she was on Honor Roll all four years of high school and was on the principal's list her senior year. On her lacrosse team she was captain during her senior year and netted a career total 102 goals, 64 assist and had a career high of five goals and five assists. Piccirilli was also on the Integrity Lacrosse FCA National High School team, she was an Inside Lacrosse All-Star Selection and an Under Armour 150 All-Star selection.

Personal: Piccirilli was born on March 21, 2000 and is the daughter of Mark and Mary Piccirilli. She is the younger sister of Christopher and Anna. She chose Villanova because of the outstanding academics and the commitment of the coaching staff. Ad- ditionally, her brother played on the men's lacrosse team and her sister also graduated from VU. She also admired the community service aspect of the school and felt the fam- ily like atmosphere right away.

ALEXA TSAHALIS #36 | MIDFIELD

Saddle River Day School: At Saddle River Day School, Tsahalis was a 4 year Dean’s List student as well as a 3 sport varsity athlete in lacrosse, soccer and basketball. During her high school lacrosse career, Tsahalis was captain during her junior and senior years and earned many accolades. In 2018, she was part of the NorthJersey.com Top 50 Seniors to Watch and a Top Girls Lacrosse player finalist. In 2017 and 2018, she received All-Bergen County First team, NJ Stars and Stripes Conference First and Second Team All-Star, two All-Group 1 Second Team awards, and All-North Jersey First Team. Along with this success, she helped lead her team to two NJSIAA State Sectional Championships. As a freshman, Tsahalis received Independence Conference Second Team honors, was selected to the under Armour Uncommitted Showcase team and was a WDNT North NJ Team Selection helping her team win the Oneida Division Cham- pionship game. Despite missing seven weeks of her sophomore year due to an injury, she recorded 230 career goals and 59 assists. As a 4-year varsity soccer player, Tsahalis was captain during her senior year and earned Second Team for the All-NJIC Patriot Division.

Personal: Tsahalis was born on June 7, 2000, is the daughter of Nick and Lynn Tsaha- lis and has a younger sister Leanna. In her free time Tsahalis enjoys going to the beach, listening to country music, watching NHL and spending time with friends. She chose to attend Villanova because when she first visited it felt like home and instantly she knew it was special. She ultimately chose VU because of its top tier academics and highly rat- ed business school in addition to its amazing sports programs and school spirit.

62 VILLANOVA STADIUM

Villanova Stadium has been the home for Villanova Women's Lacrosse since it's inaugural sea- son as a university sponsored sport in 1991. The stadium was offically dedicated on October 8, 1927 and has been the home of Wildcat football, lacrosse, and track and field for the the last 89 years.

Over the years, Villanova Stadium has received several different renovations. Orignally seat- ing 5,500 specators, the first expansion saw concrete stands on the north side added an addi- tional 6,500 seats to the venue. VILLANOVA STADIUM The original grass playing surface was replaced in 1980 after a $1.3 million renovation saw the installation of AstroTurf fieldOPENED: 1927 and an eight-lane Rebaturf 400-meter track. A few months later, SURFACE: FieldTurf six 100-foot light towers were installed for night time use. CAPACITY: 12,000 TENANTS: VU football, M/W In the second year of the women's lacrosse program, Villanova lacrosse, and track and field Stadium saw another upgrade, as Astroturf-8 surface was in- stalled in the fall of 1992 following a $1.25 million project. As the years went by, additional new suraces were installed. The current FieldTurf duraspine pro synthetic turf field was in- stalled in 2011.

In 1999, the Stadium underwent a face-lift with the Stadium Renovation Project, which in- cluded a state of the art press box with with a facility for both print and radio media to use.

Villanova Stadium will host the 2017 BIG EAST Women's Lacrosse Tournament and the 2017 BIG EAST Track and Field Championships.
