Alpha Phi (ΑΦ) ‟s are leaders in the community and on campus. Alpha Phi‟s currently hold leadership positions on varsity and club sports teams, service clubs, and more. Although Alpha Phi‟s are women who take leadership roles through many different outlets, these women also thrive in leadership positions earned through Alpha Phi. Alpha Phi‟s are leaders in Sorority and Fraternity life at Lafayette through IAGGL and the Panhellenic Council. Alpha Phi‟s attend leadership conferences like ELI, UIFI, and our Regional conferences. Alpha Phi‟s hold leadership positions on our Executive Board, which involves leading a meeting each week with the largest chapter on campus, and managing a budget. Alpha Phi‟s can also be leaders in our chapter through other positions outside of the executive board, such as directing intramural sports, community involvement, or our marketing tactics. Alpha Phi‟s learn to lead inside of our organization, in order to lead successfully in the future.

Delta Delta Delta (ΓΓΓ) „to develop qualities of unselfish leadership‟ is an organization full of campus leaders, whether they are in community service, Residence Life, the arts, or in the greater Greek community. Delta Delta Delta also fosters its own leaders through entrusting chapter officer positions to its members. We believe whole-heartedly that the „position chooses the member‟ and therefore the chapter elects members they see fit for the given positions, rather than having the individual members running for a spot. Each leadership position is trained and given guidance by past holders of the position, a council for training and leadership counseling as well as professional advisors.

In a commitment to develop strong leaders, Kappa Kappa Gamma provides its members with educational resources such as the Kappa Trainer program to promote lifelong self-growth and intellectual development. Each fall Kappa Kappa Gamma sends a sister to attend Leadership Academy. This four- day, all expenses paid, leadership retreat consists of intensive leadership development in the beautiful outdoor setting at Heartland Conference and Retreat Center in Marengo, Ohio. Leadership Academy is highlighted by outdoor leadership challenge, personal reflection and group interaction. Each attendee brings valuable leadership skills back to her chapter. Within each chapter of Kappa Kappa Gamma, a Chapter Council, consisting of 18 members, is elected annually. These chapter officers work together through communication, leadership, organization, education, motivation and implementation to plan and execute the many chapter events and programs.

SCHOLARSHIP

Alpha Gamma Delta (ΑΓΓ) Alpha Gamma Delta strives for academic excellence. Alpha Gamma Delta at Lafayette Zeta Theta Chapter embraces the ideals of obtaining knowledge and wisdom. This past semester Alpha Gamma Delta was tied for top GPA among sororities with a 3.39. Our house is equipped with a study room and our top priority as an Alpha Gamma Delta is to continue to pursue academic success. Sisters of Alpha Gamma Delta represent many different majors on campus and are involved in many different organizations. Sisters are also Marquis Scholars, Excel Scholars, Posse Scholars, Honor Roll recipients, and have many other academic achievements. In Alpha Gamma Delta, living with purpose is strongly represented in our devotion to Scholarship.

Alpha Phi (ΑΦ) Alpha Phis take academics very seriously, and take pride in helping each other to achieve goals. In addition to our annual scholarship tea, where each Alpha Phi sister invites faculty or staff members who have inspired or motivated her, we also have incentives for GPA accomplishments. Each semester, the family of women with the highest GPA and the family with the most improved GPA earn a prize. Last semester, it was two gift cards to Panera Bread, where the sisters could have a nice lunch off campus together. Alpha Phi also ranks highest overall in Sorority and Fraternity life when it comes to GPA, as well as boasting the highest third semester GPA (Fall semester sophomore year).

Delta Delta Delta (ΓΓΓ) „to broaden the…intellectual life‟ We strongly believe in Delta Delta Delta that our academic lives are of upmost importance. We pride ourselves in having women of a variety of majors and professional goals who exhibit these interests and their excellence through membership in honor societies, the McKelvy Scholars house, repeated appearances on the Dean‟s List, and participation in academic interest groups on campus.

Delta Gamma (ΓΓ) - Delta Gamma expects that members will strive to achieve their full scholastic potential o Every member must have 2.5 GPA o We offer study hours and study programs to help sisters - Delta Gamma encourages continual intellectual development o Delta Gamma wants each woman to explore new horizons and awareness in the world - Honor and acknowledgement o We honor our girls who are in high academic standing with our “Lamps of knowledge” awards o Every week we recognize scholastic achievements - Establishes a sense of unity among the chapter members as we all strive toward the same goal Kappa Kappa Gamma (ΚΚΓ) Kappa Kappa Gamma fosters the pursuit of lifelong learning by promoting intellectual curiosity and self-confidence. Kappas celebrate a richness of common heritage while embracing each other's diversity of backgrounds and interests. Every Kappa sister should have the opportunity to complete her education. That is the philosophy behind the scholarship efforts of the Kappa Kappa Gamma Foundation.

Pi Beta Phi (ΠΒΦ) -Pi Phi expects and helps members with time management. We utilize tools to improve our time management of social obligations and our academics. -Pi Phi‟s are always there for each other; we always help one another. Study groups are one way in which we do this. Students in the same class form study groups to study together and make sure that everyone excels on their exams and improves their performance in class. -Upperclassmen are often used as resources to the underclassmen. If they have taken a class already, they are always more than happy to help you study or even gives you tips on how to succeed in that particular class. Upperclassmen also give great advice on what classes to take. -Pi Phi always gives incentive to get your grades up to improve not just for yourself, but for your sisters and for F/S life in general. -When a sister is struggling in a class, Pi Phi provides tutors that can help you improve your grades and do well on an exam that you are having trouble preparing for. - Every week we recognize women who did well academically during the week.

FRIENDSHIP

Alpha Gamma Delta (ΑΓΓ) Friendship and sisterhood are one of the pillars that Alpha Gamma Delta is built on. Our purpose states the importance of cherishing and perfecting friendships. Every semester, our chapter devotes time for their fellow sisters by participating in sisterhood events where the ideals of sisterhood can grow. Being in a sorority offers a strong support system for its members, both in their activities and in their everyday lives. The friendships cultivated in Alpha Gamma Delta are ones that will last a lifetime.

Alpha Phi (ΑΦ) Alpha Phi‟s extend the value of sisterhood beyond planned events. Alpha Phi‟s truly enjoy just being around one another. That being said, we also have multiple events and traditions that keep our sisterhood alive. Some examples of bonding events include movie nights (last time we watched Bridesmaids!); pumpkin picking; and weekly "sunshine," which is a way to extend your appreciation for one another; and study break snacks together. We host alumnae brunches, parents' brunches, and scholarship teas. These brunches and teas are a way for Alpha Phi‟s to interact with important people in each other‟s lives. As stated, Alpha Phi‟s can promote sisterhood in so many organized ways, but what it comes down to is the genuine feeling of sisterhood that is spread throughout this chapter.

Delta Delta Delta (ΓΓΓ) „to establish a perpetual bond of friendship among its members‟ The opening phrase of Delta Delta Delta‟s mission statement reads that „the purpose of Delta Delta Delta shall be to establish a perpetual bond of friendship among its members,‟ and this is reflected in all that we do as a sorority. We ask when you choose Tri Delta, that you don‟t choose to enter our organization and try to fill a stereotype, but rather than you bring yourself for who you are and accept others for who they are as well.

Delta Gamma (ΓΓ) - Sisterhood events o Movie nights o Sporting events o Chapter dinners o Etc… - Co-sponsor events with other Greek and non Greek organizations on campus - Living in the house o Every Sorority member is required to live in the house for at least one semester o Fosters very strong relationships with other residents

Kappa Kappa Gamma (ΚΚΓ) Kappa Kappa Gamma is women supporting women in their individual, academic and professional lives. Kappas demonstrate throughout their lives bonds of sisterhood and mutual support, sustaining members in bad times, celebrating in good times and sharing at all times. Kappas are encouraged to respect the larger world, celebrate individual differences and take pride in shared accomplishments.

Pi Beta Phi (ΠΒΦ) -The friends you make through Pi Phi are true friends; they are your sisters for life -We have sisterhood bonding events both on campus and off campus such as cozy movie nights, trips to the movie theatre, Rita‟s runs, and pizza dinners. -Pi Phi‟s are sisters for life and your sisters are more than just the women on campus; they include every woman in Pi Phi across the country. -Friendship is an important aspect of Pi Beta Phi that was made very evident throughout the entire experience in this sorority! -Pi Phi‟s are always there for each other no matter what. We bond like sisters and always help each other through both bad times and good times.

SERVICE

Alpha Gamma Delta (ΑΓΓ) “Inspire the woman, Impact the World”. One of the first fraternities to establish a philanthropy, Alpha Gamma Delta continues its mission to impact the community and the world. Alpha Gamma Delta‟s are guided by purpose to participate in philanthropy events for the Alpha Gamma Delta Foundation as well as in our local communities. The Alpha Gamma Delta Foundation supports international diabetes awareness and education. Here at Lafayette, our

The Four Pillars of Sorority Life Leadership, Scholarship, Friendship, Service Lafayette College 2012 chapter is also active with the Easton Area Boys and Girls Club where we lead a Girl Scout troop. Together, just as in years past, we continue to inspire the woman and impact the world in the communities in which we live

Alpha Phi (ΑΦ) Service is an integral part of our specific chapter, and sorority life as a whole. Our official philanthropic efforts raise money towards the Alpha Phi Foundation, which provides grants and awards to various causes, most notably women's heart health. Alpha Phi‟s raise money for this foundation through events like Pictures with Santa, Jail and Bail, and our largest event: King of Hearts. Alpha Phi also hosts an annual "Heart Healthy Dinner" each November, where we present healthy salads, meals, beverages, and desserts to other members of Lafayette's campus, all while providing the campus with important facts and information about women's heart health. This semester, we brought a representative from Easton Hospital to educate the campus about women's heart health, and how to avoid being at risk. In the community, Alpha Phi‟s venture down the hill to Easton's ASPCA, where the women spend time with the cats and dogs that have been abandoned and taken in. On each trip, Alpha Phi‟s take the dogs outside of the building on scenic walks, and give the cats nurture and love. Each spring, Alpha Phi‟s bring some dogs on campus to the quad for the annual Pet-A-Pup day! Alpha Phi‟s are also involved with service outside of our chapter, whether that be through the Landis Center, other sorority and fraternity organizations, other campus clubs, or at home. Some examples of service events that Alpha Phi‟s take part in are Literacy Day, Marina Day, David Heard Crane Building, Lafapalooza, Relay for Life, and more.

Delta Delta Delta (ΓΓΓ) „to broaden the moral…life‟ Since 1999, Delta Delta Delta has proudly supported St. Jude Research Hospital, which is internationally recognized for its research and treatment of children with cancer and other chronic diseases. At St. Jude, no child is ever denied treatment on the basis of an inability to pay, although it costs $1.7 million dollars a day to run St. Jude. Delta Delta Delta‟s newest mission is to raise $15 million dollars for St. Jude in five years. This goal was set in 2010 and we are currently $6 million dollars closer.

Reading Is Fundamental, Inc. works to build a literate nation by helping young people discover the joy of reading. RIF's highest priority is to serve the nation's under-served children and families through the development and delivery of literacy programs and campaigns that motivate youth to read regularly. Our chapters have also supported the Kappa Kappa Gamma Foundation with financial gifts and Rose McGill magazine subscription sales to help fund scholarships, confidential aid, education and training, and support of our two museums. Marina Petersen Celebration Day is an annual event held in remembrance for Class of 2010 student Marina Peterson, who tragically passed away in the summer of 2009. Marina was a loyal sister of Kappa Kappa Gamma and active in the Lafayette/Easton community. This year, the enthusiasm and solidarity on March Field were readily apparent as everyone participated in ‟s dunk tank, ‟s backyard games, Pi Beta Phi and Rho‟s kissing booth, and Alpha Phi‟s photo booth, among various other activities. It was a beautiful day to celebrate life in Marina‟s favorite way – outdoors with family and friends. The event was successful in raising more than $3,080 for an interim abroad scholarship in Marina‟s name, which is open to the entire student body. Marina continues to be a contributing member of the Lafayette community, who will never be forgotten by her Kappa sisters and friends.
