Guided by her behavior plan, classroom staff has worked very hard to build rapport and trust. Gradually, Arianna has gained self-confidence and is now able to spend time in her classroom learning. This past October, she transitioned to a more academically and socially challenging classroom where she has continued to work on improving her behavior and making academic gains utilizing the four A’s. She is now working on Awareness of her actions and accepting feedback from staff and peers without shutting down, covering her ears and crying. She has begun Advocating for herself by suggesting meaningful rewards to recognize her successes. As a 13 year old, it’s not surprising that she asks for more “phone time”.
