The operation manufactures certain Bayliner and Sea Ray boat models for the South American market. Moving forward, this demand will be fulfilled through Brunswick's remaining global boat manufacturing footprint. "The region's continued weak economy has made it difficult to profitably serve these markets with a dedicated manufacturing facility," explained Huw Bower, president - Brunswick Boat Group. "With our existing commercial infrastructure and channel presence, we can return to our previous model of importing boats to the region to more efficiently and effectively fulfill demand to this important market." The Company said the resulting restructuring charges are estimated to be in the range of $10 million to $12 million pretax, substantially all of which will be recorded in the first quarter of 2017. Further, these actions are projected to have a modestly positive impact on earnings and a minimal impact on free cash flow, with the majority of the earnings benefit occurring in 2018. Power and Associates Reports: Boat Manufacturers Hone in on Improving Customer Satisfaction and Quality While Facing Challenging Market Conditions Bass Cat, Bennington, Cobalt, Grady-White, Nautique, Regal and Sea Ray Each Rank Highest in New-Boat Owner Satisfaction in Their Respective Segments MIAMI: 12 February 2009 —Despite challenging economic conditions, overall customer satisfaction and quality across the new-boat industry has increased considerably since 2008, according to the J.D. Power and Associates 2009 Boat Competitive Information StudySM released today at the Miami International Boat Show. Now in its eighth year, the study examines the sales, service and product experience of new-boat owners. Owner satisfaction with new boats is measured in seven segments: fiberglass bass boats; coastal fishing (17 to 30 feet); express cruisers (24 to 33 feet); small runabouts (16 to 19 feet); large runabouts (20 to 29 feet); pontoons; and ski/wakeboards. Overall customer satisfaction index scores are based on performance in eight factors: cabin; engine; ride and handling; helm and instrument panel; design and styling; sound system; water sports; and fishing.1 The study finds that customer satisfaction across the boating industry has increased considerably—up from an index score of 813 on a 1,000-point scale in 2008 to 830 in 2009. While all boating segments improve in 2009, the express cruiser segment (up 38 points) and large runabout segment (up 25 points) primarily drive the overall satisfaction increase. In addition, the average number of problems new-boat owners experience has declined by 33 problems per 100 (PP100) boats in 2009. “The industry-wide drop in problems experienced is again driven by considerable improvements in both the express cruiser and large runabout segments, which, combined, drive a decline of more than 100 PP100 from the 2008 study,” said Todd Markusic, senior director of the powersports practice at J.D.

Known for its rugged durability, performance, smooth ride and "unsinkability," Boston Whaler has been the talk of boating enthusiasts and the boating industry for decades. The chatter began in 1958 when Richard T. Fisher -- a Harvard-educated engineer by trade and a boater by choice -- in partnership with naval designer C.     NEWS RELEASE FOR RELEASE AFTER 2/13/03 Contact: Dean Kuti 386/409-6443 BOSTON WHALER INTRODUCES THE 190 NANTUCKET (Edgewater, Florida) At the Miami International Boat Show, Boston Whaler unveiled the newest and largest addition to its series of attractively priced boat/motor/trailer packages. The 190 Nantucket center console model is 18’10” long and has an eight-foot beam. It comes standard with a Mercury Marine 115 horsepower EXLPTO engine and a galvanized trailer with drum brakes and flush kit. The base package has a manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $27,564 (price does not include freight or dealer prep charges). Although it draws only 12 inches affording shallow water operation, the 190 Nantucket’s deep-V hull entry and 22” interior freeboard make it equally suited for operation offshore. Its 60-gallon fuel capacity ensures ample range for fishing or cruising. A leaning post with storage is standard but the mounting hardware also accommodates installation of pedestal seats in lieu of the leaning post. The optional pedestal seats are designed so that they can be positioned facing aft to serve as an observer’s seat for water sports or to view lines while trolling. The fiberglass base supporting both the leaning post and the pedestal seat option houses easily accessible storage or it can be plumbed as an optional livewell with the leaning post configuration. The 190 Nantucket has ample storage and convenient features to promote fishing, cruising or water sports. The bow anchor locker features a divider that creates a separate side storage area for gear.
