For the second straight season Baylor is hosting the Basketball Travelers’ World Vision Classic. Last year Baylor won the MARCH tournament with a 3-0 record, defeating Idaho (82-37), UL-Lafayette (89-42) and Lamar (87-65) en route to the title. The Lady Bears and the Florida International University Panthers will meet for the first time on Friday in the Ferrell Center. Baylor and the Montana State Bobcats have met three times before, the Lady Bears hold a 2-1 series lead. Sunday’s matchup against the Rice Owls marks the 35th contest between the two former Southwest Conference foes. The series between the two schools is tied at 17-17. Baylor and Montana State last met on Dec. 29, 2004, in Waco when the Lady Bears posted a 92-47 victory. The Owls and the Lady Bears’ most recent matchup came in Houston on Nov. 23, 2008, when Baylor won 83-58. 2010-11 BAYLOR WOMEN’S BASKETBALL 2 HEAD COACH KIM MULKEY KIM MULKEY - HEAD COACH When Women's Basketball Hall of Famer Kim Mulkey accepted the position of women's basketball QUICK FACTS head coach at Baylor University a decade ago, few could have predicted the dramatic and prestigious transformation the program was about to undergo. In just 10 years at Baylor, the former Olympic Gold Education: Louisiana Tech, 1984 (B.A.) medalist has guided the Lady Bear basketball program to the pinnacle of women's basketball, the 2005 NCAA national championship, nine NCAA Tournament appearances and 10, 20-win seasons. In addition, Experience: over the past six seasons, Mulkey has led the Lady Bears to two Final Four appearances (2005, ’10) and Louisiana Tech (Player), 1980-84 three Big 12 Conference titles.
