Waste Collection Pilot Principles ANNEX B Current Collection Pilot Waste Collection Pilot Principles ANNEX B Current Collection Pilot Pilot Volume Versus 1993 and the Current Service Pilot Selection The factors used to select a round for the pilot were based on the below, which take into account the Full Council Motion on 17 July 2019 to understand the different challenges that different estates face: • Diversity of types of housing Milton Keynes contains a wide range of types of housing, from housing that is centuries old to the present day, and including some areas that can be difficult for wheeled bins such as Victorian/Edwardian terracing and the most recent housing that often has little garden space. • Diversity of Location Not all of Milton Keynes is urban. In the rural areas travel times for collection vehicles are longer. • Diversity of socio-economic composition Generation of waste and recycling per property varies according to socio-economic status. The round selected contains the following residential properties (selection criteria): 1. social housing; 2. rural housing; 3. Edwardian / Victorian terracing; 4. Post Edwardian to 1950s; 5. 1960/70s; 6. early MK (before 1990); 7. modern MK (1990 to 2015); 8. new MK (post 2015). The pilot area selected (round 17) can be seen below and the list of streets within the pilot can be seen in Annex C (Streets in the Waste Collection Pilot). WALTON HIGH Leading Learning Walnut Tree Campus: Fyfield Barrow Milton Keynes MK7 7WH Brooklands Campus: Fen Street Milton Keynes MK10 7HE Tel: 01908 677954 www.waltonhigh.org.uk Executive Principal: Michelle Currie Chair of Governors: Renu Elston Principal: Sharon Alexander Business Manager: Sukh Singh 22 September 2020 COVID-19 Update 21 Dear Parents The good weather has helped us manage students’ social time with most enjoying break and lunchtime outdoors with their friends, which has been great to see. Social Distancing We would like to thank parents for reinforcing the message that maintaining an appropriate social distance is very important for everybody’s wellbeing and is not just adults being unreasonable. Students who fail to keep their distance in school are reminded of why this is important and their parents contacted so they can follow this up with their child when they get home. If you do receive an email, I can assure you that regardless of what your child may say, they were failing, to a greater or lesser extent, to meet our social distancing expectations. “Other people were also doing it” is no justification. As I often explain to students, lots of motorists speed but not all are caught. Parents who have been contacted have generally been grateful to have been informed and have promised to reinforce the message again at home and we thank them for their support. Whilst it is relatively easy to control the classroom environment, keeping students at least two metres from their teacher and limiting the contact they have with others with seating plans and “bubbles”, this is more challenging outside of lessons where we need to rely on students’ self-discipline and thoughtfulness.

No features or deposits of archaeological significance were observed during groundworks, and no artefactual material pre-dating the modern period was recovered. (EMK1294) Land at Walkers Bridge, Olney - Watching Brief 01/02/2017 Archaeological Solutions Ltd / Hertfordshire Archaeological Trust Event - Intervention Monitoring of the excavations for the footings of the new agricultural building in the northeastern corner of Walkers Bridge Field revealed a Roman ditch (F1009), orientated northwest/southeast and a Roman pit (F1004). The latter cut undated Pit F1007. The fill (L1008) of Pit F1007 consisted of a compact pale grey, with red, orange and yellow mottling, crushed limestone. This suggests the possibility that the feature may have been a footing or pad for a large post. Pit F1004 may represent the deliberate removal of the post.
