  • AVDC Sub Groups Local Lettings Policy
AVDC local lettings policy Scheme details Development/Estate name Any general need housing to which AVDC has nomination rights (excluding Rural Exception Schemes). RSL Any Local Lettings Policy – 15 May 2014 Commencement Date End Date To be reviewed in May 2015 Total number of properties in N/a estate/development Number of properties subject to proposed 50% of new build properties Local Lettings Policy 25% of re let properties Property type and number of beds and Nos. of Supported Rented Intermediate persons units Housing General need, re-let properties 25% of N/a Y N total General need, new build properties 50% of N/a Y N total Justification for local lettings policy Choice based lettings means that qualifying applicants are able to choose to express interest in any properties which become available and are the appropriate size and match their needs. Applicants who express interest in properties are then prioritised by their level of housing need (Bands A- D) and then how long they have been on the Housing Register. No consideration has previously been given to where in the District the applicant is from or where the property is located. Following previous direction from Members at Environment and Living Scrutiny Committee officers developed a scheme which was subsequently approved at cabinet and council. This scheme divides Aylesbury Vale into four ‘sub groups’ and allows some extra preference to be given to applicants with a connection to their local community. For the purposes of this local lettings policy, Aylesbury Vale is split into four groups, (Greater Aylesbury, North, South West and South East) which are broadly consistent with current LAF (local area forum) areas.

  • Annual Parish Meeting 2018 Minutes
MINUTES FROM THE PADBURY PARISH COUNCIL ANNUAL PARISH MEETING – 23rd May 2018 The Annual Parish Meeting of Padbury Parish Council was held on Wednesday 23rd May, at 7.30pm, at the Pavilion, Springfields, Padbury. Those present were: Cllrs Long, Dickens, Murray, Williamson, Burton and Morris, Cllr John Chilver, Cllr Llew Monger, Mrs Jo Bursell and Mr John Wrigley. Apologies were received from Cllrs Roberts and Renshell. The meeting was opened by Cllr Long, Chair of the Parish Council, and the minutes of the 2017 Annual Parish Meeting were agreed and accepted. Chair’s report Introduction I was elected Chairman in January 2018, replacing Cllr Ken Roberts who had to stand down for personal reasons. We all give him our grateful thanks for his leadership and commitment to the Council and to the Village throughout his tenure as Chairman. The aim of this report is to reflect on the activities of the Parish Council over the past year. Policy and Governance The Council continues to receive support from our Ward Councillors, and we are always thankful for their guidance and advice. The two major issues over the past year have been the implementation of GDPR and the proposal for a new Unitary Authority. The latter has been debated by both the County council and AVDC, and the decision to “modernise and simplify Local Government” now rests with the Secretary of State. Routine Business We would like to express our grateful thanks to Deborah O’Brien who stood in as Acting Parish Clerk on the resignation of Jo Bonney. Deborah remained in post until Rachel Taylor was appointed as Clerk to the Parish Council.

Mr Hanley was also kind enough to make a number of valuable suggestions on the first draft of the introduction which also benefited from the ideas (albeit on their part unknowingly) of Dr J. Broad of the North East London Polytechnic and Dr D. R. Mills of the Open University whose lectures on Bucks village society at Stowe School in April 1982 proved immensely illuminating. None of the above, of course, bear any responsibility for any errors of interpretation on my part.

  • New Primary Schools for Western Expansion Area
ANNEX D NEW PRIMARY SCHOOLS FOR WESTERN EXPANSION AREA A Public Consultation – 4 December 2006 to 12 February 2007 Introduction The Western Expansion Area is going to be developed over the next few years as a very substantial urban addition to Milton Keynes in the area to the west of Crownhill, Fullers Slade, Grange Farm, Great Holm, Kiln Farm and Two Mile Ash and to the south of Stony Stratford. In total, there will be some 6,500 dwellings and an eventual population that could be equal to that of Stony Stratford, Wolverton and New Bradwell combined. Put another way, the plans will see the effective development of a new town of the size of Buckingham and Winslow combined. It is expected that there will be sufficient demand for school places to require four new primary schools in total as well as a new secondary school just to serve this area. This consultation is the first step on the path to establishing the first two new primary schools. The other two schools will be subject to a later consultation. What is the current provision available? Primary schools within a safe and reasonable walking distance of each of the proposed school sites are as follows. (For the purposes of this document, only schools to the west of the A5 trunk road and north of or bordering Childs Way, H6, are included.) Ashbrook School (ages 4-7, serving mainly Two Mile Ash) Christ the Sower Ecumenical Primary School (ages 3-11, serving mainly Grange Farm, Oakhill and Medbourne) Glastonbury Thorn School (ages 4-7, serving mainly Shenley Church End and southern
